for Emma
Plus, after chatting with Emma on that app, meeting for coffee at a quiet little café with a small collection of books for clients to peruse seemed pretty apt. When he got there before her, he picked a small table near some shelves with books and took a seat on one of the single couches, glancing towards the door every so often while he waited for her.
no subject
She was glad to be back, on one hand, but she was also glad that she had accepted Jim's offer to go. She had managed to make some acquaintances so that was a good thing. Her mother kept preaching that there was strength in numbers.
"Hey there, You haven't been waiting long have you? Lucy was happy to have me home," She greeted.
no subject
To that effect, he gestured for one of the servers to come over so they could place their order. "What are you having?"

for Christian
Anyway— back in the Quarantine, after a long shower, a long night's sleep and making himself look presentable again, Jim shot Christian a quick text just to let him know he'd be coming by the Institute as he said he would, just to be sure he'd be around. It wasn't the first time he visited, but then he had been on the moon for almost a year now, and he knew plenty of people who spent most of their days there. Only natural he'd been there before. Still, he didn't want to walk around like he knew the place too well, so he just asked for directions to where he could find him.
Once he makes his way there, there's a soft knock on the door, and Jim peers in, just to make sure he's in the right place. ] Christian?
no subject
You found it. I was just... cleaning.
[ Uh-huh. ]
How was the, uh, mission, Captain?
[ His lips tighten as he attempts not to wince at his own words. ]
no subject
Largely uneventful, but alright. We got the job done.
[ He stops by one of the tables, where one of the books is laid open, and he reaches up to let his fingertips run over the lines of text. God, he loves books so much. ]
And I'd vastly prefer Jim, please. [ He looks back up to Christian, giving him a slow once-over, his expression both pleased and a little teasing. ] You're much cuter in person.

for Dorian
Of course that's not the only reason he's excited to meet him. That's not even the main reason. It's not every day one gets to meet an android with a synthetic soul, after all.
Figuring Dorian doesn't do things like eat or drink, he just decides to arrange to meet up near the guard, so they can figure out where to go from there. A walk, maybe— Jim wouldn't mind that at all, so long as they get to talk. Out of his uniform or flight suit and in something far more casual, Jim looks up and down the street, keeping an eye out for his approach. ]
no subject
Hello. Were you waiting long?
no subject
Not at all, I just wrapped up my shift. [ He gestures towards the Perimeter Guard behind him, then excitedly offers a hand to Dorian. ] Jim, by the way. Obviously. Nice to meet you.

for Rose
When asking where she could find him, she'd be promptly directed towards the shuttle bay area, since that's where he spent most of his time. The shuttle hadn't really suffered any damage during the trip, but Jim was still running some routine diagnostics just to make sure everything was working perfectly. Hearing the footsteps approaching, he got to his feet and stepped out of the shuttle, still wearing his flight suit. Not recognizing her immediately, he tipped his head at her in a small nod. ]
Looking for something?
no subject
The chance to maybe go out and see what else was out there was a very exciting prospect. She just needs to find the guy who had said he could make that possible. "Captain Kirk," she does end up asking for and gets pointed to where he's working on a shuttle. So cool. ]
I'm looking for you, dude! [ said effervescently with her grin only growing to accompany that energy. ] Jim Kirk, right? I'm Rose. You said I could swing by and, like, see what going outside the walls was all about!
no subject
Point is, when she finally speaks up and grins wide at him, it doesn't take him long to make the connection between her and the texts she sent him, and he can almost guess who she is even before she introduces herself. ]
Ah. That I did. [ He gestures towards the shuttle with a smile. ] Well, feel free to look around. Just don't push any buttons.

for Freya
Picking a spot on a plaza near the city center seemed like a fairly good way to spot each other. If nothing else she'll at least spot his bike, since there aren't any others there at this hour. He's leaning against the seat, sort of sitting sideways while he flicks through his phone distractedly, waiting for her to show up. ]
no subject
Hey! [She flashes him a toothy smile before taking a step closer and dropping her gaze to his bike. It's just as amazing as she had imagined and her first reaction is an insistent itch to take it apart. She's not going to because it isn't hers but the desire is there.
Freya circles the bike once before looking back up at Jim.] You're not one of those guys that names their bikes and cars are you?
no subject
Laughing softly at the question, he gets to his feet, turning to face her properly. ]
No, I just name my ships and shuttles. [ Because really, who doesn't. ] Freya, right?

for Amilyn
Leaving some scanners running diagnostics on the shuttle, Jim steps away from the bay for a short while to check a few files, then he puts on his suit so he can take the Intrepid for a quick spin later on, just to make sure everything's running smoothly. But he spots someone else by the shuttle when he steps out onto the bay, though he seems more curious than worried as he makes his way over. ]
Can I help you with something?
no subject
Jim, as he approaches, will see a tall purple-haired woman in only-just-practical coat and trousers ensemble, looking over the shuttle with a thoughtful expression on her face. At the sound of his question, she turns and smiles in greeting. ]
Ah, hello. You must be Jim. [ She extends a hand. ] Amilyn Holdo.

for Victor
The bar doesn't look like much from the outside, although the vintage sign and the guitar hanging by the window might catch Victor's eye. Jim's already waiting in there, having taken up a booth for them, although for now he hasn't ordered anything yet. He hasn't been here long enough for the waiters to start giving him weird looks about taking up the table anyway, and he figured it'd only be polite to at least wait for Victor to get there first.
When the door opens, Jim glances over, sitting a little more upright when he recognizes Victor from his picture. Smiling, he waves him over, scooting a little on the seat to make plenty of room for Victor to take a seat. ]
So? Looks good or what? [ He gestures vaguely around the room, brow raising just a hint. ]
no subject
His choice of venue alone is intriguing. Being stuck in the 80s for nearly thirty years, Victor doesn't really have a concept of "vintage", but the bar's design has a personality he likes.
He nods to Kirk, sitting as directed. He took a wild guess and did "dress casual". He's still figuring out how not to look like he's always just leaving or going to work. At least the bleached hair gives him a little bit of a "cool" edge. Maybe]
Yes. And the bar's not too bad, either.
[he smirks a bit. Of course he had to take that bait]

for jim & cassian
dinner is easy and normal, chatter about space, about work, about past planetary adventures, about jyn's paintball win. they're clustered around the table and sharing the food cassian had placed in the middle, spicy beef with rice and some kind of bread that works as a spoon because while there is cutlery at the table, they can just as easily eat with their hands. their little gingery cat sits patiently on the fourth chair, watching them with her big blue eyes.
once it's all done and cleared away by jyn, she drops down at the table again, welcoming the cat into her lap. ] We have ice cream for dessert.
[ a beat, as she gestures to the shrimp dispenser next to the fridge, her paintball prize. ]
Or shrimp.
no subject
Jim can understand that, really. He can't even say he came from a world where he was in a trying situation and even he enjoys having a cozy little place to live in here. Even if it is depressingly empty and quiet right now.
He glances to the dispenser and chuckles, shaking his head. ]
Ice cream sounds great. [ So long as it doesn't have strawberries. ] You two have a really nice place, by the way. Thanks for inviting me.
[ He looks around again while he says it, doing them the favor of not asking about the beds. Well, bed technically, let's be real here.
God you two are a pair of losers.](no subject)

for Roy
He assists with a few wall repairs, does a few trips around the abandoned city, sits around and goes over the data collected during the mission— tries to keep busy overall. Sometimes it's not enough, though, and when all else fails, he puts on his flight suit and takes his baby out for a long flight far away from the city, to clear his head and explore new areas of the moon if nothing else.
That's exactly what he's doing now, as he steps out onto the shuttle bay, just finishing zipping up his suit, when he finds someone else there, looking up and down the shuttle. Slowing his step, he looks Roy over. Definitely a new face. ]
Hey. Anything I can help you with?
no subject
He looks over to see who spoke to him. Since he just came from his own work (or rather trying to avoid said work), he's decked out in his full uniform from Amestris. He gestures towards the machine.]
I couldn't help but take a look at this. There's nothing like it where I'm from. Is it yours?

for Lucy
This time around, however, he figured he'd just go to Victor's place and knock on the door, and hopefully surprise him if he happened to be around. Little did he know, as he stood in front of the door, waiting to see if it would open, that he was the one about to get a surprise. ]
no subject
When she hears a knock on the door, she is curious about it. She hadn’t announced that she moved so...who was it? ]
I’ll get it! [ She called out over her shoulder, opening the door to see a tall man...
Someone she clearly doesn’t know. Lucy looked him over with skepticism. ]
