It's funny how Marinette, rather, Ladybug will fuss at other people to get rest and relax a while, but rarely takes her own advice. She's not put that many hours in with the Perimeter Guard since she only works with the search and rescue team part time, but it wouldn't hurt to pop in during her free time now and then. So the lady superhero makes her appearance, all red and black spots, complete with mask -naturally. Usually she goes out exploring around this time since she needs to see if she can find something interesting to spark her thoughts, but this time she's hanging around the guard station, either chatting with those present or idly training. Right now? It's training. She's been lucky enough to not have her memories leaked out or peeked in on - thank god(s). Or goddess. She's not picky. Swing by, chat her up or engage her in a friendly spar? ... be gentle.

Frank can't say that he's particularly impressed with this 'Search and Rescue' unit. So, if she's walking by, he's emptying out the armory, because this shit is not up to SOP and he ain't leaving until it is. So, basically, he's in a nest. Of guns.

And that? Is someone in red jammies. What. The. Fuck.

"You lost or something?" He's not trying to be a jerk (for once). It's just...yeah. The only other person he knows who runs around in a red get up with a mask is...Red.

She indeed is walking by, and gosh rude, it's not even in jammies! It was a very sleek bodysuit thank you very much. "Oh hey~," Ladybug smiled cheerfully, "No, not lost. Just, I don't spent that much time in the building here and I had some free time so... here I am." She approached the other man, offering a hand, "Ladybug."

"Yeah, well, kind of dangerous around here right now." Exhibit A: all the guns. Which, he hasn't checked to see if they're clear yet.

"Ladybug." Wut. "That a Halloween costume or something?" His daughter would probably dress up as a ladybug. Made sense. Even made the mask make sense.

"I'll be careful." Her suit would protect her anyway.

GOSH, just because she's not all dark and edgy like you adult superheros and anti heros and suchlike! "Not exactly. This is my uniform - comes with the powers." She didn't pick it! But she doesn't dislike it either, so there ya go.

Look, if Frank Castle were any darker and edgier, he'd be a goddam black cactus. Which isn't even a thing.

"Uniform. Uh huh. Normally uniforms are practical." That? Is not. And it is also too close fitting to have some sort of techno nonsense. "What kind of powers?" GO on, tell him a story.

It could be! This is a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view! There's no one to tell you n- okay stopping there.

She rests her hands on her hips, her pleasant demeanor mixing with a little annoyance. "Uh-huh, well, what's so unpractical about it?" It's MAAAAAAAGIC.

"Enhanced strength, agility," which ...granted was mostly HER, but she's not saying that much. "The ability to summon a necessary item for a fight, and reverse damage to an area." Luck. Lots of Luck. She tugs the sleeve of her suit, "And its indestructible."

Really? He has to explain this?

"Combat uniform. Supposed to NOT make you a target. Those spots?" He'll lean over and poke one or two of them. "I'd scope target right on these." That...probably sounds creepy.

"No pockets. No ability to carry weapons or ammo or even a goddam drink of water." See? Impractical. Exactly like he said.

"So, what? You're like some sort of bulletproof gymnast?" He has his doubts.

HEY NO TOUCHIE.

Because yeah that does sound kinda creepy. He means well? she thinks. "Yeah, I'm .. not a guerilla soldier. I'm kind of a crimefighter." Kind of because she thinks it's more of a civic duty to protect her home country, than vigilantism. Also the police like her helping out ..back home.

"Anyway, I don't use weapons like guns and things like that." She has her yo-yo but... something tells her he'd make fun of her, and that wasn't really her weapon anyway. "I fight hand to hand. My partner, if he were here, uses a staff though." So that counts. She pauses - man, she kind of misses that punning dork.

"Bulletproof gymnast?" She scratches her head, "Yeah, I guess you could put it that way." At least the part that's covered is bulletproof.

... please don't test that theory by shooting her in the head or something.

"Crimefighter." He laughs at that. "I knew a guy who probably thought of himself the same way. Punched a lot of people."

"They went to jail. They got out. He punched them again." Endless cycle. Stupid cycle.

Ivar's sure he's seen this girl around before the Perimeter Guard. It was hard to mistake that bright get-up she was wearing. As for Ivar himself, he's usually out along the fence, pushing back or killing any monsters that might try to make their way through. He's gotten a bit of a reputation after being here so many months, what with his skills with his weapons and violent temper.

As he approaches Ladybug in his wheelchair as she heads for the training part of the building, he's got a sword by his side, and a knife strapped to the belt at his waist. Clearly, he doesn't look like anyone who should be trifled with. "Are you going to do some training?" She doesn't look like much, but that tight suit shows off that she does have some muscles under that frame.

Not as much as most full time Guards, but yes, Ladybug has been around for a while yet. Most of the time she simply went straight through to pass outside the wall, but this time she was lingering - mostly because she didn't want to go straight to work yet. She glances at Ivar as he approached, a wary expression on her face at first. She wasn't sure what to expect, since they've never spoken, but when he asked a simple question, she offered a friendly smile instead, relaxing. "Yeah, I thought I'd put in a little time training for a change. I haven't really made use of the facilities here."

Ivar doesn't precisely smile back. What can he say? He's got resting grump face. But neither does he sound unfriendly as he asked another question. "Need a partner to train with?" Ivar himself had always found that he did better when he had someone to push against. He was a naturally competitive person. At home, those he sparred with were usually his brothers, since they were the only ones not to underestimate him. Here, he went with whoever was willing to face him.

Yeesh, and she thought Keith was serious. Her friend was Sammy Smiles a lot Compared to this guy. "Uh? Well, sure, why not?" She wasn't that competitive though - in fact, she was likely to hold back - she didn't take training against people quite as seriously as she should, and she definitely didn't want to hurt someone even while sparring.

Just wait around a while, Marinette. She'll soon discover Ivar's smiles tend to be worse than his resting expression. This the type of guy who smiles at the thought of gutting an enemy like a fish. He nods at her answer. "Good."

He wheels alongside the superheroine. Despite the many months here, proving that he had just as much to offer as any other member of the Guard, Ivar still can't help the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop he has. No one can ever take him seriously the way he is, right? They all have their doubts, even if they don't express them. "Do you have weapons you use? Or are we doing this the old-fashioned way?"

That'...that's not a good thing.... that's ... that's probably in Marinette's category of people to avoid. ...actually more than probably. Someone who smiles while gutting an enemy is just...disturbing to her.

She's also kind of curious how he fights, being he seems to be wheelchair bound. So if she holds back, it's not because of his disability. It's just her nature. "No, I don't use weapons in battle." Her yoyo doesn't count, it's not a weapon. "Do you?"

That's probably the best attitude to have around Ivar. He's unstable at the best of times, his anger and temper often making him unpredictable. If she ends up running for the hills, she'll probably be smarter than ninety percent of the people Ivar interacts with.

"I do, but I can leave them to the side." He doesn't want to get too caught up in the moment and end up stabbing her. That would be no way to make a first impression.

YYYYYeah this... this is going to go poorly isn't it. Don't hurt her too much Ivar~! "It's fine," Ladybug waved a hand, "I should learn to adapt to my opponents, and not all of them are going to be courteous enough to put their weapons down because I don't fight with one. If you're more comfortable with your weapons, I don't mind." It'll be a learning experience!

Or a horrible, horrible mistake.

"Nice outfit," Keith quipped as he walked past. He'd seen her around a few times, but never really thought much of it. But, he needed to force himself into being somewhat sociable today. Shiro had reminded him that it was birthday, but, with things being as down as they had been with all the crazy memories, neither of them really had felt much up to doing anything.

Not that Keith made a habit of marking the date, really. It just wasn't something he did.

Either way, he happened to be in his Paladin armor, so they kind of matched? Hence the half-hearted snarky comment...

Her impulse was to call out her usual greeting to Keith, though she recovered before she made that mistake. Instead she grinned at him, "Thanks, I'll take that for a compliment. I've always been pretty partial to red. And from the looks of things, I'm not the only one." She quipped lightly, "Putting in some training today, or are you patrolling outside?"

"Just some training. I don't have a patrol assigned today," he said. Keith would alternate between training with and without his armor, depending on what he was going for as he did it. Today was an armor day.

"What about you?" As for the color... He shrugged.

"I guess. It just sort of worked out that way. I never really thought about it."

"I just came back in from scouting around outside," Not an official patrol, but she usually found some interesting things or design ideas when she was out there. "So I thought I'd get in a little training myself." She.. probably -shouldn't- offer to spar with him, but she was kind of curious if his sparring would be different against her as Ladybug rather than Marinette. She flashed a grin at him. "If you need a sparring partner, I'm free anytime."

"Well, it's a good look for you." She's so used to seeing him in red, he'd look weird in blue or green, or any other color.

Keith considered it for a moment, and then shrugged slightly.

"I'm up for it if you are." He smirked. "If you think you can take me."

He looked amused at the comment about the colors. "Same for you." Red and black had sort of ended up being something of an aesthetic for him, not that he really paid attention to it, personally. He just tended to be drawn to those colors. It just made the team ending up in armor colors that almost matched their regular clothes kind of a weird coincidence.

.... Oh he did NOT just...

She stifled a laugh. Well he probably WOULD "win" their little sparring bout but she couldn't help but tease him a little, "Oh I don't know, I might surprise you~." She had a few moves he obviously hasn't seen, after all.

Oh, yes he did. What was Mari going to do about it?

"Oh, yeah?" Keith smirked. "Okay. Let's do this."

He gestured with a thumb towards the Perimeter Guard's training gym.

WELL. She's gonna have to break out some surprises for sure NOW. Bemusedly she turned and trotted on over towards the gym, taking up a position to face Keith. And to her credit she doesn't settle into a stance exactly like the one he taught her before - it's a mix of her own usual stances with a slight adjustment here using his tips. She beckons with a hand. Come at me bro! "I'll even be nice and let you get the first swing in." Oh how generous, giving him a advantage! But she does manage to fight back the faint grin of amusement to focus on the sparring, ready to dodge if he does come right at her.
