It's funny how Marinette, rather, Ladybug will fuss at other people to get rest and relax a while, but rarely takes her own advice. She's not put that many hours in with the Perimeter Guard since she only works with the search and rescue team part time, but it wouldn't hurt to pop in during her free time now and then. So the lady superhero makes her appearance, all red and black spots, complete with mask -naturally. Usually she goes out exploring around this time since she needs to see if she can find something interesting to spark her thoughts, but this time she's hanging around the guard station, either chatting with those present or idly training. Right now? It's training. She's been lucky enough to not have her memories leaked out or peeked in on - thank god(s). Or goddess. She's not picky. Swing by, chat her up or engage her in a friendly spar? ... be gentle.

It was a perfectly logical one for her, NotDad!

"That.. may be the case, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with handling a gun." She mused. She was also about to point out of she could get killed by something that easily, she wasn't so sure the gun would tip the odds that much in her favor, but.. she doesn't know guns either, sooo. She guesses she can see where he's coming from but at the same time... gun.

"Yeah, okay." Because Frank is not a nice guy, but he's not the kind of not-nice-guy who forces kids to do shit they don't want to do. He puts the pistol down. "Then at least tell me you can disarm an opponent." If she can't? She is GROUNDED, young lady!

Was it really that weird that she didn't want to handle a gun? Also, what! GROUNDED? That's so not fair! How is she going to go out and fight crime if she's grounded, GOSH. ~~Sneak out the window clearly.~~

"Yeah, I can disarm someone, no problem." Well maybe that's a little exaggerated. She hasn't had that many chances to do it, but she's gotten lucky in that matter before! Just.. not with guns.

"Yeah?" He checks the pistol, making sure it's not loaded, and points it at her. "Go." Come on, Spot girl. Let's see what you got.

Ladybug actually looks taken aback at first - even if it's not loaded, having a gun pointed in her direction is something she'd like to avoid. "O-oh. Right." She can do this! Both hands come up hesitantly, though she glances first at his face, then her left hand swept forward to grab the barrel of the gun while the other moved to strike into his wrist.

This is going to fail miserably isn't it.

Even though the pistol's empty, he still keeps his finger away from the trigger, and he waits. And waits, thinking of the number of shots he could have gotten off while she decided to move.

He steps back, resets. "Try doing it like you mean it." None of this gentle swatting shit. Welcome to Frank's Tough Love, which involves hurting him.

Yeah she was thinking about that also. She was RIGHT THERE and all. And though her suit is bulletproof, it.. probably would still hurt to get shot at that range. "Ah.." But Frank~!

Oh huff. Her mouth closes on the protest she was going to make, "..alright." She's not that happy about it, but - she probably wouldn't hurt him anyway! She hopes. So this time when he resets, she steps forward and slightly to the side with the same attempt to disarm him - a little bit quicker and focused this time.

"Better." At least she had the moves. "But you need follow through. It's not enough to just take the gun out. Gotta make sure they go down." He tilts his head, considering. "Probably a punch to the throat'd do."

He's... not going to expect her to do that too, right? "Wouldn't just hurting their hand so they can't hold the gun be enough as well?" Punching in the throat seems so... so VIOLENT.

"If someone's aiming a gun at you, they want you dead. You think they're not going to have a backup plan?"

Okay, not this guy, currently pointing a gun at you. this is training.

SO SHE FOUND OUT YOUR TRAP CARD.

"Well, if they can't hold their gun, I'm .. pretty sure I can handle taking them down hand to hand at least..prrobably." SHe's just.. never needed to punch someone in the THROAT and take them out THAT violently.

"Probably? You going to risk your life on a 'probably'?" Unsatisfactory answer, Bug. "Someone with a weight and reach advantage on you?"

That's 'Ladybug'! So rude NotDad. She scratches behind her head, "... well, normally I have a partner to watch my back. At least I did back home." Here? She goes out on her own and its usually enough! Sometimes though...

"I just have to be quick and adaptable. Use their height and reach against them."

It's Bug, because he said so. And congratulations, because she just walked right into his trap, indeed.

"Normally you have a partner. Except here." Does he have to connect dots here? Okay, he will, dotty girl. "Either you learn how to do it, or you don't go out alone." It's not Dad if it's Logic.

Nooooooooooooooo-ohwell. And.. okay learning how to properly use someone's height and mass against them is a good idea, but the latter half of his comment just gets a look from her that is a mix of 'Seriously??' and 'okay then.'

"... I'm not agaisnst learning how to defend myself against someone bigger and stronger but... come on, really? It's not like you have any way of stopping me from going out on my own." She is a strong, independent teenager who don't need no rules! She's all for learning! She just.. had to point that out.

"Oh, you think I can't?" Is she serious? "You think I can't take out a teenager in her footie pajamas?" Because don't make him go there--he's got a lot more than 'a little' hand to hand.

Mari... Mari please stop. Don't test the Punisher, especially when he's in Not-Dad Mode. And ESPECIALLY when not when he has a bunch of guns piled around him.

"Wel--" Wait, What? Hold that thought Frank. "I do NOT wear footie pajamas." Because THAT is clearly the important thing here. She folds her arms. TAKE IT BACK NOT DAD.

If he were a different man, he might facepalm. Because wherever she's from, running around in a cute red leotard punching people could fix crime. It didn't work in Hell's Kitchen, and he's pretty sure it wouldn't work here, either.

"Oh right. Sorry. Your stealthy infiltration suit designed to give you low visibility." He shakes his head. "Jesus. You remind me of Red." He pranced around in a ridiculous costume, too.

She gave him a flat look, huffing lightly. She didn't need to be stealthy and infiltrate here! ...though she'd still wear the same outfit, probably, if she did. "Red?" She echoed, puzzled, "Who's Red?" The only 'Red' she knows is a robot lion and she doesn't think he's talking about her.

Look. If you're fighting crime at night, you should not look like a girl in a ladybug halloween costume. It's a shit cover.

"Red." Shit, did he say that out loud? "Guy I knew back home. Like you, he though the could just punch bad guys and they'd, I don't know, get saved or some shit."

"Oh." Well that's how it worked back home. Although in this case it was because they were possessed and she was purifying them of the evil influence. "Well it would take more than just punching them. There's rehabilitation, and therapy, and that's not even counting having to do community service or pay time for their crimes.. if they even get bail..."

That's...not a strategy Frank is going to try himself. He'll leave that level of costume experimentation to her.

"Therapy? You think people do bad shit because they're, what? They've got mommy issues?" Frank can't figure out if he should throttle some sense into her or wrap her in bubble wrap. Possibly both?

Probably for the best, he has that whole grizzly teddy bear rep to keep after all! ... please don't throttle her, and if you're gonna wrap her in bubble wrap, poke some holes in it first so she can breathe.
