It's funny how Marinette, rather, Ladybug will fuss at other people to get rest and relax a while, but rarely takes her own advice. She's not put that many hours in with the Perimeter Guard since she only works with the search and rescue team part time, but it wouldn't hurt to pop in during her free time now and then. So the lady superhero makes her appearance, all red and black spots, complete with mask -naturally. Usually she goes out exploring around this time since she needs to see if she can find something interesting to spark her thoughts, but this time she's hanging around the guard station, either chatting with those present or idly training. Right now? It's training. She's been lucky enough to not have her memories leaked out or peeked in on - thank god(s). Or goddess. She's not picky. Swing by, chat her up or engage her in a friendly spar? ... be gentle.

She indeed is walking by, and gosh rude, it's not even in jammies! It was a very sleek bodysuit thank you very much. "Oh hey~," Ladybug smiled cheerfully, "No, not lost. Just, I don't spent that much time in the building here and I had some free time so... here I am." She approached the other man, offering a hand, "Ladybug."

"Yeah, well, kind of dangerous around here right now." Exhibit A: all the guns. Which, he hasn't checked to see if they're clear yet.

"Ladybug." Wut. "That a Halloween costume or something?" His daughter would probably dress up as a ladybug. Made sense. Even made the mask make sense.

"I'll be careful." Her suit would protect her anyway.

GOSH, just because she's not all dark and edgy like you adult superheros and anti heros and suchlike! "Not exactly. This is my uniform - comes with the powers." She didn't pick it! But she doesn't dislike it either, so there ya go.

Look, if Frank Castle were any darker and edgier, he'd be a goddam black cactus. Which isn't even a thing.

"Uniform. Uh huh. Normally uniforms are practical." That? Is not. And it is also too close fitting to have some sort of techno nonsense. "What kind of powers?" GO on, tell him a story.

It could be! This is a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view! There's no one to tell you n- okay stopping there.

She rests her hands on her hips, her pleasant demeanor mixing with a little annoyance. "Uh-huh, well, what's so unpractical about it?" It's MAAAAAAAGIC.

"Enhanced strength, agility," which ...granted was mostly HER, but she's not saying that much. "The ability to summon a necessary item for a fight, and reverse damage to an area." Luck. Lots of Luck. She tugs the sleeve of her suit, "And its indestructible."

Really? He has to explain this?

"Combat uniform. Supposed to NOT make you a target. Those spots?" He'll lean over and poke one or two of them. "I'd scope target right on these." That...probably sounds creepy.

"No pockets. No ability to carry weapons or ammo or even a goddam drink of water." See? Impractical. Exactly like he said.

"So, what? You're like some sort of bulletproof gymnast?" He has his doubts.

Because yeah that does sound kinda creepy. He means well? she thinks. "Yeah, I'm .. not a guerilla soldier. I'm kind of a crimefighter." Kind of because she thinks it's more of a civic duty to protect her home country, than vigilantism. Also the police like her helping out ..back home.

"Anyway, I don't use weapons like guns and things like that." She has her yo-yo but... something tells her he'd make fun of her, and that wasn't really her weapon anyway. "I fight hand to hand. My partner, if he were here, uses a staff though." So that counts. She pauses - man, she kind of misses that punning dork.

"Bulletproof gymnast?" She scratches her head, "Yeah, I guess you could put it that way." At least the part that's covered is bulletproof.

... please don't test that theory by shooting her in the head or something.

"Crimefighter." He laughs at that. "I knew a guy who probably thought of himself the same way. Punched a lot of people."

"They went to jail. They got out. He punched them again." Endless cycle. Stupid cycle.

Hrrm. "Well.. that's the risk of crime fighting, I guess." And a flawed justice system. "I haven't dealt with that particular branch of crime though - here or back home, honestly." She purified victims of a supervillain, but admittedly, it would be nice to FIND and Put a stop to said supervillain. "Even if the criminal inevitably gets out again, I'd rather keep putting them back in. I mean, what other alternative is there?" Killing them? Sorry, her world isn't dark and gritty (yet).

"Yeah. A risk." Red didn't risk enough, according to him.

What other alternative is there? Is she...is that goddam mask tied too tight or something? "Killing them." Says the guy, surrounded by guns. Like. Duh

She kind of was hoping he WOULDN'T say that. "Not my style. I mean, if that's the way you do things," she doesn't agree with it. "That's... fine for you, I guess." He's an adult - "You'd probably say I was being foolish, or childish or something equally..." She made a gesture that probably amounted to 'typically adult thing to say', "But I don't think I could ever compromise my morals to taking the life of someone else." That would be a slippery slope to being as bad as the people she would put away. But...

At the same time she can't ignore that killing MIGHT be a necessity in certain cases.

"It works." Kind of. Minus the prison sentence, the constant beatings, no friends, but hey, yeah. Frank Castle: winning at life.

"Nah. If it works for you, let it work for you." He'd rather do the ugly work himself, if it meant someone else didn't have to. "You run into something you can't handle, you call me." Because there's something about her that reminds him of Lisa--willful, determined, naive....

Frank you prickly buttered bear do you need fraaaaaaaaanz? And huuuuuuugs? ...And possibly cookies?

"It has been so far," she admitted, "But the majority of that is probably because the people we've gone against are possessed by corrupted creatures. What they do isn't their fault." And unfortunately they haven't been able to find Hawk Moth/Papillion. Though his offer got a surprised smile, if a sheepish one as she rubbed behind her neck.

"Eheh, wish I'd met you properly two weeks ago then. I could have used a little back up." And okay yes, she could have sent out a call for help but at the time, she didn't really have much of a chance to send out an S.O.S. ... at least that's what she was telling herself. "But I'll keep it in mind. Thanks." .. oh! "I don't think I ever got your name..?"

No. Yes. No. Shush. He's fine. He doesn't need friends. Rawr.

"Yeah?" He looks up, surprised. That was news. "Stuff I've seen out there didn't look like any possessed anything." But he could be wrong. Wouldn't feel guilty, but he'd still learn. Though it'd raise the question why they had so many guns in the armory.

"Name's Castle. Frank Castle." He pauses, logging another gun into a notebook, because inventory, but then he looked up. "You went out without a battle buddy?" Uh, that is his 'no you did not' voice.

Too late Frank, you're already making friends. At least with her. A little niceness goes a long way, even for the pricklers. Ask Strange. She considers herself to be friendly with him, when she runs into him!

"Well, mostly that's the sort of people I deal with back home, on my world." She corrected herself. "But the group here from a few weeks back were ..kIND of possessed.. or hypnotised or something." Hrm. But yay, she has his name now, new friend get!

...new friend that is now using the 'no you did not' voice.

"Uh..." AWKWARD. "Well, my partner isn't here, uh..." Fidget. "I was kind of in the area where things went down, and I didn't have time to call out for backup, so .." Eheh, ahah...

"So you don't run into people who are real, honest, just," (don't say 'fucked up' Frank, she's practically a kid,) "evil where you're from?" Like some kind of weird cartoon world.

And yes, he did. "Who knew you were going out, alone?" Oh, just asking casual questions. No reason.

Hey she's sixteen years old! ... Now. Her birthday passed a few months ago. "Well... there's Papillion, I guess he's kind of evil..." A certain level of evil at least. The kind of evil that has no problem with using others to get what he wants. "But other than that it's pretty peaceful."

Who knew she was going out? She shook her head, "No one, actually. I don't make a habit of using the network that much." She does however, make a habit of swinging through the city at random times in the day. She'd been in civilian gear at the time - it had to be a coincidence.

"Kind of evil." Okay. Uh huh. He'll bite. "What the hell's 'kind of evil'?"

Like that old crack about being a little bit pregnant. Seemed impossible.

"No one knew you were out." Don't make him whip out his Dad Voice. "What if something happened? Would anyone even have known to look for you?" Ticket to your guilt trip, right here.

"I mean.. there are probably plenty of people who are WAY more evil than he is. He could do a lot worse than what he has done so far - and that's bad enough." So.. KIND of evil.

Him suddenly turning around and almost Dad Voicing her was ... WEIRD. She's never had to deal with an adult turning around on her with ... a guilt trip of all things. She blinks in surprise for a second, then rubbed behind her neck nervously, "Well... that's the risk you take when you put on the mask, right?" Or the costume, or whatever cultural equivalent follows.

As far as she knew, no one she knew would have even looked for her, no. The thought was admittedly unsettling, "I knew it'd be dangerous if I accepted my role. I can't just sit back and do nothing if other people are in trouble." Her parents would probably ground her for LIFE if they knew.

"Maybe he was just warming up. Men like that, they push a little, see what they get away with. Push harder. Then a little more." Men, or women. Reyes had probably at one point been a decent DA.

And yes. Dad Voice. With guns.

"Look. I get it. But you don't go out alone." Only assholes like him do that. "Next time you go out, at least let me know where you're going." So he can stalk from a discreet distance.

"It's possible." She couldn't deny that. "And if that's the case, I wouldn't want to find out what he's really capable of." Or anyone else with similar goals for that matter.

Dad Voice is bad enough, though. Dad Voice with GUNS? Totally worse. "Wha - ?" Is he serious? Let him know - how fast could he move? Or is he gonna be watching her through a sniper rifle or something. "I really don't think that'll be necessary.." She didn't want him to worry about her getting in over her head again, accidentally. Although at least someone would know where she was if she DID get mixed up in things.

"We're all capable of some bad shit." He's just...more capable than most.

And yes, Dad Voice with guns. "I think it is. Never go into a hostile area alone." Unless you're Frank Castle, whose guns are almost as big as his death wish.

But.. what if it's not hostile, and then becomes hostile? Ladybug almost sighs at that, but gosh, he's just being pricklynice and looking out for her in his own way. And at least he didn't do the 'you're just a kid you can't of out there fighting' thing she worried some of the adults might do.

"All right, all right. If I go into a hostile area, I'll let you know ahead of time."

He probably should try to tell her not to go out and get herself in trouble, but he wouldn't listen if someone told him, so....

But he does want to see her do her weird special 'crimefighting'. "Fair enough. You go out dressed like that?" Just so he knows who to watch out for.

.... Frank, do you know how much like a dad you sound right now.

She glances down at her costume, then back at him, almost wanting to ask what's wrong with her outfit, dangit. "Yeah, it fits in with the whole 'Ladybug' theme. Besides, I wouldn't be able to do any crimefighting if I didn't wear it." Outside of her costume she's a normal squishy hooman.
