[OPEN LOG]
who: Ladybug (Marinette) and YOU
what: Ladybug's putzing around in the Perimeter Guard building! Join her~!
when: 10/20
where: The.. the Perimeter Guard Building
warnings: nnnnnnnnnoooooooooooone....?
It's funny how Marinette, rather, Ladybug will fuss at other people to get rest and relax a while, but rarely takes her own advice. She's not put that many hours in with the Perimeter Guard since she only works with the search and rescue team part time, but it wouldn't hurt to pop in during her free time now and then. So the lady superhero makes her appearance, all red and black spots, complete with mask -naturally. Usually she goes out exploring around this time since she needs to see if she can find something interesting to spark her thoughts, but this time she's hanging around the guard station, either chatting with those present or idly training. Right now? It's training. She's been lucky enough to not have her memories leaked out or peeked in on - thank god(s). Or goddess. She's not picky. Swing by, chat her up or engage her in a friendly spar? ... be gentle.

"I'm up for it if you are." He smirked. "If you think you can take me."
He looked amused at the comment about the colors. "Same for you." Red and black had sort of ended up being something of an aesthetic for him, not that he really paid attention to it, personally. He just tended to be drawn to those colors. It just made the team ending up in armor colors that almost matched their regular clothes kind of a weird coincidence.

She stifled a laugh. Well he probably WOULD "win" their little sparring bout but she couldn't help but tease him a little, "Oh I don't know, I might surprise you~." She had a few moves he obviously hasn't seen, after all.

"Oh, yeah?" Keith smirked. "Okay. Let's do this."
He gestured with a thumb towards the Perimeter Guard's training gym.

"I don't need it."
His eyes narrowed a little and he smirked. Look out, Ladybug! Keith charged in. He wasn't going easy on her like he did with Mari in training.

On the other hand what she does have going for her is her ability to adapt, and quickly. In feeling her knees start to buckle, she lets herself drop with a soft 'oof!', but she's quick to kippup again, half turning, ready to follow up with an elbow to Keith's face. Though even in a friendly spar she's holding back - also because she doesn't want to accidentally injure her sparring buddy.

"Not bad, not bad -" Don't do it Mari. Don't do the thing! "That all you got, tough guy?" Damnit Mari, you did the thing, you were specifically told NOT to do the thing.
But she follows up her words to close in with him, with a testing swing. Similar stance but a little more assertive than her little swings during their training sessions.

She glanced -- well from her perspective, up at Keith, almost with a baffled 'what just happened' expression before she grins. "Okay maybe you DO have some moves," she laughed, before holding up a hand, "Help me up?" Surely Keith would be nice enough right? Though she might trick him and flip -him- over because she wanted to even the score there. Would he fall for it though?
no subject
"Maybe?"
He'd also held off on a lot of his kick moves this time around. He had a pretty strong kick.
no subject
Almost. Once he gripped her hand, she grinned appreciatively, "Yeah," she teased, "'Maybe'. Also, sorry." Because she uses that distraction of helping her up to flip -HIM- in turn. Though if successful she will at least be nice and crouch next to him, propping her chin against her palm and give him a grin. Though not the 'HA HA I LAFF AT YOO' grin, but an easy going almost apologetic smile. "Okay MAYBE a little more than that." Because he -was- nice enough to help her up, she'll even do the same, offering her hand to him sheepishly. "But I am sorry about that trick. I just had to even the score a little." Surely he understands right?
She'd be glad he held back on his kick moves, yes. She might be a sturdy little thing but those would still HURT.
no subject
"Hey... that's cheating."
Keith laughed a little and shook his head. He didn't take her hand as he moved to get up, but he did give her a little push against her shoulder. Depending on how solidly she was planted into her crouch, it might be enough to knock her back off her feet and on to her butt. If not? Well, no big deal.

Still rood tho! She was offering to help him up and everything!

"Couldn't let you get the last laugh," he said. "Ladybug, right? I'm Keith." Considering that they hadn't introduced themselves, yet. He generally forgot and was often bad at it anyway, and he had no idea that she already knew him.
"So, what's with the mask and stuff? Super secret hero identity or something?"
no subject
no subject
Because super hero masks are so effective at making someone completely unrecognizable."Quiet can be good," Keith agreed. Though, he tended to get restless with quiet, but he'd rather be restless than overworked and stressed out. He'd been in both situations, and he knew that being restless during a quiet spell was generally better for the greater good than constantly fighting off bad guys.
"I wouldn't take it for granted." He definitely sounded like he was experienced on that.

Not just masks! Glasses too! :D ...somehow."Yeah," She rubbed behind her neck absently, "To be honest, there's so many people as part of the guard, and even those like me who go out outside of the guard schedules, I almost feel like it'd be fine to hang up the mask for a while. At least here. Back home there's only me and one other person." She mused. "But at the same time, I don't thing I could ever just give it up now."
She glanced at him, giving him a small smile, "I know. I'd rather have days of quiet than days of chaos or trouble. Besides, it gives me a chance to swing through the city," literally. "And just appreciate it for what it is." Especially atop high spaces - she loved getting that 'see for miles' view.

Absolutely! No one knew who Pidge was, after all."Honestly? Yeah. I feel the same way," he said with a small shrug and a sigh. "But it's definitely nice to have the down time." Keith felt like it had been a long time since he'd been able to sit back and enjoy himself doing something.
"Thanks for the spar, though," he said. "It was fun."

A true master of disguise!"People like us just have to buckle down and make the most of it when we get opportunities like these." Says the person guilty of doing exactly the opposite. Do as she says, not as she does, Keith!
She grins at the thanks, and playfully took a deep, graceful bow, with a flourish, "Happy to be of help." She straightened again, settling her hands on her hips, "Everyone's been pretty gloomy around here lately -" and that whole... Event with the memories and the ghosts certainly didn't help. "We've all got to keep our spirits up." a pause. "The ..non haunting ones." Ahem.
"But anytime you want to go for a Round 2, or company on patrol, give me a call~." She grins.
no subject
"Sure," he said. "I'll remember that. If we're both around enough, we might get put on patrol together anyway at some point." He shrugged a little. It was how he had ended up meeting a few of the other people on the guard.
