Happy Halloween [ totally open ]
who: anyone ;
what: halloween party
when: October 31 - 6PM-11PM (or later~)
where: Element Nightclub
warnings: if needed - please post in individual threads.

Welcome to the Club
Outside of the club there's some decorations, but they remain minimal, so not to interfere with the glowing sign "Element" to let people know that this is the place to be. There's a bouncer, larger in stature, standing near the entrance of the club. He's there more to ensure that there's no trouble, rather than anything else. He's dressed as Frankenstein, to match the theme of the club's decorations. The only decorations outside, really are an array of neatly organized jack-o-lanterns with a variety of designs and shapes.
In the entranceway, there's fake cobwebs decorating the ceiling, and spiders and bugs decorating the entranceway and walls. Everything is neatly done. Perfectly organized, and details are definitely strongly considered in each and every step. This entranceway is quite dark, though. The only lighting is purple, turned down quite low so not to illuminate, but to keep it safe for people to walk through and get into the club.
The further one steps into the club, the more elaborate the decorations get. While it's still pretty dimly light, though there's more colorful lighting near the dancefloor.
There's so many things to see, including moving skeletons, thanks to a bit of magic courtesy of Nico. In parts of the room, there's ghostly figures in a variety of poses.
One of the corners is lit up completely with a blacklight, and there's some accessories near a shelf that glow in the blacklight.
Another of the corners is lit up a little more brightly, with curtains hanging and a camera. A photobooth with fun props, so that people can have fun capturing pictures of their costumes. Once they take pictures, they'll be given a ticket so that they can get the pictures taken the following day online.
In the center of the club, is the dance floor, off to the side - there's a bar, there's games, food tables, and all sorts of things to keep one entertained for the duration of the night.
Costumes are not required to enjoy the night, but they are certainly recommended and encouraged.

Dance Floor
The dance floor is more brightly lit than the rest of the club. The lights blink and strobe to the beat of the music. The music that is being played is a combination of remixes of songs from various horror movies, remixes of classic rock songs, and audience requests. The clear intention is to get people up, moving, and dancing. The music may be not quite so familiar to people who aren't from a more modern-day earth.
At the front of the dance floor, there's a platform where the DJ is working. Near it, there's a small table where people can write down requests for music that can be played later on in the evening. He's open to suggestions, since people from other worlds or times might want to hear something more familiar to them.
Towards the end of the night, he leaves the platform to participate in the party, and a playlist starts - featuring any music requested, as well as songs that he had picked out earlier in the month to be sure that he'd play for people to participate in.
The last few songs are definitely far less upbeat than the first, as it is meant to slow down the party, encourage people to leave, and get people to cool off from a night out.

Bar
The bar has red lighting above it. It's a long bar, and near one of the walls, opposite from the blacklight and photobooth. There's three bartenders. They're dressed as a vampire, zombie, and a werewolf. They seem happy and excited to be here. They're bouncing round, helping to serve guests as quickly as possible. The glasses come in a variety of designs for customer to get - depending on the drink they get.
The drinks themselves seem to be Halloween themed, with names like "Vampire Blood" and "Witch's Curse". There's both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of most of the drinks available to people to get.

Trick-or-Treat
The wall nearest to the entrance has several foods. All the food is finger food that people can pick up for themselves. So many different treats (and not really any tricks) to pick from. The treats seem to come from various places, as the people who prepared it are used to a variety of people eating the food. There seems to be something suitable for everyone who is attending.
Scattered among the foods are sweets that are particularly favored to Halloween. There's some caramel apples that can be found at the tables, as well as a variety of popcorns and other fun sweet treats.
There's two large bowls (one at either end of the tables) with a variety of sweets - from chocolates, hard candies, to gummies. Basically, if it is a Halloween favorite, it can be found there.
While the bar is always available to get drinks - there's options here for water bottles, and two punch bowls, one with a red concoction, which tastes like fruit punch, and the other is apple cider.

Relaxation & Games
There's so many options and places to hang out in the club. There's games in random spots hanging around - such as bobbing for applies, or pin the tail on the werewolf. Silly, fun things to do to keep people entertained when they're wanting to take a break from dancing.
Also, there's several places near the walls to sit and hang out next to the bar, and between the photobooth and blacklight - against the wall. Tables and with fun decorations, and centerpieces - jack-o-lanterns with lights inside, glowing a bright orange. The tablecloths are black and orange. The seating is comfortable.

Wildcard
If you have an idea of your own, please - feel free to go for it!
Questions? Concerns? Feel free to hit me up by sending a message, or on plurk

Otabek ; Hey Mr DJ
Through most of the night, Otabek can be found standing on the platform playing the role of DJ. He seems entirely focused and into the job that he's doing, too. He's keeping busy, and every time a request is filled, he makes sure to add it to his playlist. He's an expert at multi-tasking really. While he's working, he seems willing to talk, but only if caught with his headphones down. He's dressed as the Big Bad Wolf (one half of a couple's costume, clearly). Ripped up pants, a fur vest, a long sleeved shirt. A tail, ears, and if you happen to catch him smiling, there's a glimpse of fangs. The outfit is easy to move in and multi-task in, which was his main requirement for a costume. He's working fast and smoothly as he plays through songs for the night.
Periodically, he does take a break from his work through the night. He takes a break to spend some time talking to people as he moves out to the dance floor. During these times, he sets up a short playlist to cover his time off.
At the end of the night, he packs up most of his personal things in a small suitcase, and then sets up the club equipment to auto-play for the remainder of the night. He shifts out to the dancefloor at this time.
ii; trick or treat
Otabek spends one of his breaks shifting over to the food and getting himself a cup of cider. He tries random pieces of food. He seems unsure about a couple of things, but he still tries them. He makes a face when he doesn't seem to like something. He likes most of it, though. He's not a particularly picky eater, really.
He goes for a piece of candy, and picks it up, carefully considering it. He doesn't really eat sweets, but it's Halloween (and his birthday) so he might as well let himself have a couple of treats.
iii; misc
[ Otabek can be found also randomly at the bar or at the entrance of the club before the dancing portion of the night starts. Just hit me up if you'd like to catch him anywhere other than what I've started :) ! ]
ii
[ Re-L isn't typically a party atmosphere kind of girl, but if it meant supporting Otabek.. she can suck it up a little bit. Besides, being in this weird get up of pink and a blonde wig was basically like becoming another person, other than the fact she can't reduce her height and that alone is tell-tale enough of who she is. Add on tall heels to get that pointed toe look (look, it was Halloween, but she's very thorough and needed things to be accurate, for sure) and Re-L has equally sore feet as she does an appetite built up by the time she circles back to the candy and food offerings.
Drink in hand she plucks up things she's tried before and found agreeable before spotting Otabek breaking away from his post to try a few things, and shuffles closer - ]
Try these, too - [ Points to some kind of meat skewer that looks well marinated. ] - They're very good.
no subject
Good pick.
[ He nods, picking up a small piece of fried dough with powdered sugar. He had eaten it earlier and knew that it was sweet and good. ]
These are good, too. If you like sweets.
[ All he can think is that his coach would be really having quite a chat with him if he saw him eating like this here. ]
no subject
I know. I've had a few to balance out these drinks. [ Not that she's completely at a loss. She's smart enough to know ways to mitigate the effects of it, past her odd biology that seems to make it harder for her to achieve and keep that lovely, odd, buzzing feeling that takes away control. Not too much, of course, she can't be an absolute wreck, but...
Well, sometimes it was nice to let go. Even if she regretted it the next day. ]
Mmn.. I'm so-so on them, but I'm already ruining myself with food and drink tonight, so why not? [ It's easy enough to pick one up and pop it in her mouth, nodding as she takes in the fluffy, sweet flavor of it. ]
Not bad at all... [ She takes a moment to survey the crowd, leaning in a little so it's easier to talk. ]
You have a good crowd going. It seems people like the idea of it.
no subject
Thanks.
[ It sounds sincere. He's comfortable close to her in the space. She's earned that from him in the time they've spent talking and engaging with each other. ]
It was worth it.
[ His eyes light up for a moment when he says that. ]
It's why I like DJing. Thanks for coming.

And, of course, to fulfill her promise to Otabek to make it to his Halloween Party. She enjoys the music very much and she appreciates the way he's managed to mix requests together. She spends pretty much most of the evening out on the dance floor, so when he sets up the autoplay and makes it out, himself, she makes a point of finding him.
She's costumed in a witch hat and outfit when she approaches, waving enthusiastically and hoping he'll recognize her from their conversation on the network. She has to speak up a bit loudly because of the music playing. ]
Otabek! Hey! You did such a good job out there!
no subject
He returns the wave, small, calm, but clearly directed at her. He starts in her direction as well, until they meet so they can talk. ]
Thank you.
[ A small nod. He seems to be taking the compliment pretty earnestly. ]
I'm glad you like it. Everyone likes it.
[ Half-smile. ]
I've never really celebrated Halloween before so I had some help.
no subject
You had help? From who?
[ apparently she has not caught sight of the other half of this ensemble. ]

iv. relaxation / wild card
Osomatsu Matsuno | ota
[coming to this party was a great idea. Osomatsu can feel it in his bones. he's really needed a party after all he's put up with lately. between the working and feeling like his brothers are surpassing him in all aspects, he's about as exhausted as they come. tonight, he's going to relax, get drunk, and maybe find someone to hook up with...! okay, that last part probably won't happen, but a guy can dream, can't he?
and let's not forget to mention how much he is rocking his costume. Osomatsu's a werewolf, complete with ragged clothes and a giant wolf headpiece. he takes a look around the club, grinning at the scene. gosh, when was the last time Osomatsu visited a cool nightclub? the answer is never. he's never been to a club. but this one is certainly meeting his expectations, which were surprisingly high considering he's never set foot in one before.
Osomatsu didn't show up alone, either. he'd only heard about this party through Aoba, who had managed to convince him to join his group, despite them not being the closest of friends. still, Osomatsu has a soft-spot for the blue haired man; Aoba was the first person Osomatsu met when he'd arrived in Riverview, so Osomatsu was kind of excited to get to spend some time with him]
What should we do first?
II) hocus pocus
[well, this is cute. the drinks are all Halloween-themed! Osomatsu is pleasantly surprised. he goes to stand by the bar and orders the "Witch's Curse." here's hoping that these drinks don't do anything weird, like the last couple holiday-themed drinks he had. he leans on the bar, sipping his drink, which is sweet and sour, and speaks to whoever wants to listen]
This is a pretty cool party, huh? [this is okay, isn't it? a loser like him being at a party that's this cool? he's gotta try and act like he's in the know]
III) treat yourself
[as the night wears on, Osomatsu gets hungry. he's got quite the healthy appetite, so he can be seen snacking on almost everything at the food table. he's taken off his wolf paws so that he can use his hands, too, so don't worry about him getting fur in the food. speaking of removing his costume, this headpiece is getting hot! he's been doing so much running around, looking at everything, and the headpiece is heavy and cumbersome. maybe he'll get rid of that, too, while he's relaxing here.
he finishes off his most recent snack, a pumpkin cookie, then sets aside his plate and works on getting off the headpiece. it's stuck, though, so maybe someone can help him out...]
IV) wildcard

II
[This morbid statement comes from the sixteen year old sitting in a wheelchair nearby. He's come as a a skeleton knight. It might be an odd choice, considering English knights were enemies of Vikings, but considering it's a dead knight, it makes more sense.
Ivar sips on his drink, a delightful thing called Ectoplasm, looking somewhere between interested in his surroundings and a little pissed off. The latter expression was more due to the fact that Ivar always looked angry. It was his default expression.]
no subject
he grins at the skeleton knight, thinking the costume is pretty badass. he doesn't know the history behind it at all]
Oh, yeah? I didn't know that's what made a party.
no subject
[He smirks, the look on his face as sharp as the edge of one of the knives he loves to carry around. Ivar even has a few weapons with him right now. Protip: that axe he's got with him isn't a prop.]
So what are you then? A vargúlfr?
[His accent thickens on the last word, the Old Norse rendering of the word werewolf. The Norse never said the word for wolf if they could help it. It was considered bad luck, a curse that would bring the animal to you.]

i. I can't believe...
That might be a tall order, but he'll at least get to enjoy the excitement of hanging around with a crowd, and that... actually he misses how busy his life used to be, with all kinds of people barging into his life and while it had been inconvenient and sometimes scary at the time, he really does miss it. And who is more likely to upend a peaceful existence than these NEETs? ]
We should try to reserve a booth. Somewhere we can hang out and talk, and come back to if anyone goes off on their own to dance or whatever.
[ There's just one problem. Aoba lifts his hand, chains clinking. He's holding the end of it but as his hazel eyes travel down the length of it, he reminds himself that it's fastened around the collar on Osomatsu's neck. ]
...I still feel like 'supernatural dog walker' is a dumb costume.
[ If he feels this way, why did he go along with it? Probably because he didn't come up with a good alternative, he just went the path of least resistance. ]
no subject
It's not dumb, it's creative! We're gonna be the hit of the party for sure! [he doesn't even think it's weird, even though some people have been giving the couple funny looks]
no subject
Uh-huh. Well, at least I have a means of reining you all in if you get out of hand.
[ As if he could, he can't even reign in Karamatsu, just how can he take on three of them? That's wishful thinking, an empty threat on top of that. ]

II;
[ Karamatsu ordered a drink as well, one called Demon's Breath which is probably going to be something entirely too spicy and strong, made mostly of whiskey. His attire is a werewolf as well, but drastically different. By the looks of it, it doesn't appear like he is wearing anything else under it, but it is really hard to tell besides the lack of undershirt collar near his neck.
He looks over at Osomatsu, but then his face falls once he sees what Osomatsu is dressed as. ]
.... Eh?
[ Sure, they are very different, but for these two, anything really similar bleeds through their identities and, well, causes problems for them even though anyone else would know the difference. ]
no subject
[if he's bothered by the fact that they are both werewolves (he is), he's not saying anything. yet. besides, his costume is better! Karamatsu's supposed to be the great tailor, isn't he? his costume looks like pajamas!]
no subject
I have been to a total of... two. A record breaker! Ah, they do not really care who you are, where you come from, how cool you are.. it's amazing!
Though, I haven't had anyone try to copy me for attire at a party like you've done.

Valeria Myles | OTA
[ If someone had told Valeria that she would wind up attending not one, but two parties within a week of getting on her feet in the Quarantine, she likely would have laughed outright for her intimate knowledge of her priorities and how focused she would be on them; and yet, here she stands, looking up at the glowing sign that reads "Element" and wondering at her circumstances. She's dressed and well in the spirit of the holiday and confident enough in that fact for familiarity gleaned in her previous reality that the fanged smile she flashes the bouncer is seamless as she steps forward and crosses the threshold into the club. Really, she can't remember the last time she went to a club. To be at a club on Halloween in a reality different than Purgatorium is a strange realization, too, but she's here and with good reason. She may not know Otabek well, but Ed had informed her it was his birthday, that she was to keep it secret, and she wants to support him, helpful as he's been.
Now if she can only resist the urge to stake out the place and find a quiet corner for the moment... ]
II. Bar
[ It's shortly after her arrival that Valeria stakes a claim at the bar with her legs crossed at the ankle and her phone laid flat atop the counter with a hand at rest atop it. One glove rests flat across her lap, bare fingers wrapped about a glass she's taken to nursing. A vampire drinking Vampire's Blood -- she doesn't mind the comments about it, occasionally turning her attention between the DJ and the dance floor, happenings at the bar, and, of course, her phone given that research doesn't tend to do itself.
Surely there's nothing to the tap of her foot or that lingering look she gives the dance floor on occasion. ]
III. Wild Card

After making the polite greetings and quick catch ups he felt necessary, Edward found her once again right where he'd left her at the bar. Slipping in beside her with a quirked eyebrow, tone sounding almost amused, long hair in a high ponytail draping over his shoulder as he leans to speak.]
Your eyes glued to that thing, or what?

[ Aoba had intended to make his way through the crowd to the candy buffet, but the buffet is mobbed with people all trying to get a snack. On the way, he came across a man who is handing out candy and cookies, "party favors" he calls them. Aoba, in his infinite innocence, couldn't quite make out the warning he was giving him about the contents of said party favors, and just nodded politely before being handed a generous amount of snacks - cookies, brownies, lollipops and little packets of powder in bright colors that he assumes is some kind of sugar powder.
Obviously, he was very wrong, but only comes to realize this later, when he's sitting alone at his table completely stoned while Osomatsu and Karamatsu are away having a huge row in the background. Aoba's waffling somewhere between feeling incredibly awkward about the argument going on and also filled with wonder at simple things like how people move when they dance, the way light plays on his hand and... well, just how beautiful and connected everything is right now.
The arguing though. That's kind of a mood killer. But he giggles dully anyway. ]

[ ooc: I'm late to the game but if you wanna do something, I'm all for it! ]

[So he bypasses his siblings entirely and shuffles sideways to perch carefully on the edge of a chair beside Aoba. Hey look, it's this guy. This isn't awkward at all.]
...how long have they been at this? [He nods his head toward Osomatsu and Karamatsu.]
no subject
Aoba looks at the pair and sighs. ]
...I've lost track. Are they always like this?
[ They seem to have a lot of things to sort out, and neither one of them is well equipped to communicate them in a manner that isn't hot-headed by default. Aoba looks at the table, takes one of the packages of home-baked (and little does he know it, drugged) cookies and offers one to Ichimatsu. ]
Want a cookie? They're a bit oily but they taste good.
no subject
[He watches them with a dull expression that's almost fond-- not that he likes watching them fight, but it's nostalgic in a way things haven't been in a while. The expression fades when Aoba offers him a cookie, and he frowns at it. Oily cookies? He reaches out and takes it, quirking an eyebrow and turning it over in his hand.]
Oily? Sounds like a weird fuckup in baking I'd make.
