Happy Halloween [ totally open ]

Welcome to the Club

Outside of the club there's some decorations, but they remain minimal, so not to interfere with the glowing sign "Element" to let people know that this is the place to be. There's a bouncer, larger in stature, standing near the entrance of the club. He's there more to ensure that there's no trouble, rather than anything else. He's dressed as Frankenstein, to match the theme of the club's decorations. The only decorations outside, really are an array of neatly organized jack-o-lanterns with a variety of designs and shapes.

In the entranceway, there's fake cobwebs decorating the ceiling, and spiders and bugs decorating the entranceway and walls. Everything is neatly done. Perfectly organized, and details are definitely strongly considered in each and every step. This entranceway is quite dark, though. The only lighting is purple, turned down quite low so not to illuminate, but to keep it safe for people to walk through and get into the club.

The further one steps into the club, the more elaborate the decorations get. While it's still pretty dimly light, though there's more colorful lighting near the dancefloor.
There's so many things to see, including moving skeletons, thanks to a bit of magic courtesy of Nico. In parts of the room, there's ghostly figures in a variety of poses.

One of the corners is lit up completely with a blacklight, and there's some accessories near a shelf that glow in the blacklight.

Another of the corners is lit up a little more brightly, with curtains hanging and a camera. A photobooth with fun props, so that people can have fun capturing pictures of their costumes. Once they take pictures, they'll be given a ticket so that they can get the pictures taken the following day online.

In the center of the club, is the dance floor, off to the side - there's a bar, there's games, food tables, and all sorts of things to keep one entertained for the duration of the night.

Costumes are not required to enjoy the night, but they are certainly recommended and encouraged.

Dance Floor

The dance floor is more brightly lit than the rest of the club. The lights blink and strobe to the beat of the music. The music that is being played is a combination of remixes of songs from various horror movies, remixes of classic rock songs, and audience requests. The clear intention is to get people up, moving, and dancing. The music may be not quite so familiar to people who aren't from a more modern-day earth.

At the front of the dance floor, there's a platform where the DJ is working. Near it, there's a small table where people can write down requests for music that can be played later on in the evening. He's open to suggestions, since people from other worlds or times might want to hear something more familiar to them.

Towards the end of the night, he leaves the platform to participate in the party, and a playlist starts - featuring any music requested, as well as songs that he had picked out earlier in the month to be sure that he'd play for people to participate in.

The last few songs are definitely far less upbeat than the first, as it is meant to slow down the party, encourage people to leave, and get people to cool off from a night out.

Bar

The bar has red lighting above it. It's a long bar, and near one of the walls, opposite from the blacklight and photobooth. There's three bartenders. They're dressed as a vampire, zombie, and a werewolf. They seem happy and excited to be here. They're bouncing round, helping to serve guests as quickly as possible. The glasses come in a variety of designs for customer to get - depending on the drink they get.

The drinks themselves seem to be Halloween themed, with names like "Vampire Blood" and "Witch's Curse". There's both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of most of the drinks available to people to get.

Trick-or-Treat

The wall nearest to the entrance has several foods. All the food is finger food that people can pick up for themselves. So many different treats (and not really any tricks) to pick from. The treats seem to come from various places, as the people who prepared it are used to a variety of people eating the food. There seems to be something suitable for everyone who is attending.

Scattered among the foods are sweets that are particularly favored to Halloween. There's some caramel apples that can be found at the tables, as well as a variety of popcorns and other fun sweet treats.

There's two large bowls (one at either end of the tables) with a variety of sweets - from chocolates, hard candies, to gummies. Basically, if it is a Halloween favorite, it can be found there.

While the bar is always available to get drinks - there's options here for water bottles, and two punch bowls, one with a red concoction, which tastes like fruit punch, and the other is apple cider.

Relaxation & Games

There's so many options and places to hang out in the club. There's games in random spots hanging around - such as bobbing for applies, or pin the tail on the werewolf. Silly, fun things to do to keep people entertained when they're wanting to take a break from dancing.

Also, there's several places near the walls to sit and hang out next to the bar, and between the photobooth and blacklight - against the wall. Tables and with fun decorations, and centerpieces - jack-o-lanterns with lights inside, glowing a bright orange. The tablecloths are black and orange. The seating is comfortable.

_{[ That is Karamatsu's instant response as he is yanked from the bar table, the last of his alcohol lingering on the table in front of him. It's so beautiful, but so far away now, just inches from his finger tips. His feet slip and slide on the flooring as they have no actual grip to the feet of them (it's just a kigurumi after all.)

Goodbye, Karamatsu drink.

He looks up at Aoba with the most pitiful, pouty face. ]}

[ He marches, no, practically drags him onto the dance floor and more importantly away from the retreating back of his brother. You two have had enough and honestly he's failing to realize the ease with which this is possible, because Karamatsu is wearing the costume equivalent of onesie pajamas. ]

[ He sets him upright and takes Karamatsu's hands - er... paws? Anyway he takes them with his own hands and puts them at his sides and then just drapes his own arms over his shoulders. He still looks annoyed. ]

...Don't whine, you're pissing me off.

_{[ Karamatsu complies, not really knowing what Aoba is doing or what is happening, but suddenly his hands are on Aoba. He refuses to look at his friend, still irritated at Osomatsu at this point. ]}

Tch. He thinks he can do what he wants.. and he thinks I'll be O.K with that!
_{[ uh, you've been a push over for the longest time.. of course he's going to think that. ]}

My shitty stupid big brother is so hard to talk to sometimes.

[ Aoba doesn't either, he's just doing what everyone else is doing and is too high to feel self conscious about it. But all that bickering was getting in the way of his good feeling of being connected with everyone and he wants to do something about it. Thankfully Karamatsu is so incensed that the two of them haven't realized yet just how extremely heterosexual this is.

He sighs. ]

You were fighting for a while. Do you want to talk about it?

What is there to talk about?
_{[ He sounds.. really irritated. It might be kind of alarming since he's usually so sweet.. even if he is embarrassing. ]}

We're brothers. We're supposed to argue. That's just how it is. He wouldn't listen to me when I wanted to apologize, so fuck him.

[ The corners of Aoba's mouth turn down, making an unhappy expression at Karamatsu's response. His only reply sounds a little harsh, so if it comes across like he's insincere about this first statement, it's because he is. ]

As if I'd know, it was just Granny and me...

You're mad right now, but I think in any other situation where he was in danger, you wouldn't feel that way at all.

That whole, 'Fuck him', thing.

You're right. You do not know, so does that give you the right to say so like you do? You don't know us— we argue all of the time!
_{[ OH GOD...
He slips his hands off of Aoba and then crosses them over his chest like a child. He looks ridiculous to appear so bitter in his kigurumi. ]}

I care about him, so I am too honest!
_{[ Notice he just says I. Karamatsu is a little unsure of how exactly any of his brothers feel about him since they tease him so much, but one thing is certain: Osomatsu seems to confide with him and comfort him the most. He feels closest to Osomatsu for that reason. ]}

I don't know what his problem is. I'm probably embarrassing him. If I'm embarrassing him, how does he want me to be!? Tell me that— what does the world expect from me then, hah!? Am I that much of a disappointment?

[ The act of dropping his arms and then folding them over his chest breaks that contact, making Aoba's arms slip off his shoulders. He stands there, the strength of Karamatsu's frustration and anger directed so pointedly towards him is about as shocking as a slap in the face. Sure, he's dealt with his dramatic personality on many occasions but...

Aoba feels a little drop in his stomach, a little uncomfortable twist.

Osomatsu, for all his own misgivings, only seemed to express a form of envy. But Aoba doesn't say that, not yet. He's stuck on something. ]

...Why are you yelling at me?

Sooner or later, I'll disappoint you too! A-ahh, maybe I've already done that— maybe you're mad at me for getting mad at him but you don't understand! That's what we as brothers do!
_{[ He's not looking directly at Aoba, hands waving about as he paces, not exactly sure where to go. His voice hushes as he suddenly halts, staring off to the side at the ground. ]}

Oi, I never wanted to be a failure, but I think that's all I am!
_{[ He's being way too honest right now. ]}

[ Aoba stands slightly to the side, watching him and his shoulders tight and tense. Karamatsu is really upset, angry and fuming. Aoba doesn't quite understand where it's coming from except he's heard something similar before. Ah, so he's just aimlessly swinging his metaphorical fists around, because he doesn't know where he hurts. There's no one except him to let loose his frustration on, right? So...

So what? He's his friend, not his brother. That makes this... fine.

He can be his punching bag now, and then when he's bruised his knuckles enough, he'll be here to bind and ice them down. Metaphorically speaking, of course. And he'd rather he get this out of his system with him than with someone he can't afford to lose. ]

...What else? [ Keep talking, even if it's in the middle of the dance floor. The music practically drowns it out anyway except to him. ]

—I don't want to talk about it.
_{[ Oh, he's sober enough to reel himself back in, huh? ]}

If I talk about it, I'll be weak.

[ This time, Aoba doesn't budge from his spot right away, he just watches him. For some reason, he has a vivid memory - a rare one, one from when he was very small. The sun is setting and the breeze is picking up, adding to that sense of abandonment. Granny is late, and he sits alone on a swing set fighting off tears.

Then Koujaku's hands, warm and reassuring on his back... he tells him not to cry.

When Aoba opens his eyes again, he turns to Karamatsu. ]

...That's not what I asked you.

You were yelling at me before. Does it make you feel better? Then why are you clamming up now?

—It's stupid to act upset at him when we argue all of the time! It's weak, I'll say something stupid. It doesn't make me feel better, it makes me feel worse because I could say something that hurts you! I'll become a bad friend and then you won't speak to me again!

[ ...Ah, it's one of those moments where Aoba feels like the pages of his diary are being read aloud, the ones inscribed secretly on his heart. It's almost like Karamatsu pulls one out from some secret binder and reads it aloud, owning the same insecurities and sometimes putting them on a loudspeaker. Is this really how Karamatsu feels all the time?

What is this? Aoba's not used to it... except it reminds him - yet again - of that vulnerability he knows so well, yet it's so distant now. Koujaku was his friend for so long... how can someone crawl this deeply into his heart in such a short time?

Is that what it means to be a soulmate? Aoba drops his chin and chokes out a familiar term, something he heard long ago. ]

...D-don't lose. Karamatsu. Don't lose.

_{[ Whatever Aoba is saying.. it grabs his attention but he looks puzzled. ]}
I don't know what that means.
_{[ He huffs out and lifts his hands to his face, rubbing them down over his eyes and to his chin. ]}

L-Look, ah, I've spoken too much. I've said things that hurt Osomatsu-niisan, and now have probably hurt you.
I should go home.. the person I'm looking for isn't here. I hope.. you do not take this as something I am doing to push you away. But..—
_{[ He trails off. He's in such a mood right now and he hates it when he isn't showing off confidence-- kindness. ]}

[ Aoba covers his mouth. Ah, that came out weird. He'd just said the first thing that came to mind and without context. ]

N-no that's just... something a friend of mine told me. It's... just that you're not supposed to let this stuff defeat you! Haha...

[ That still sounds weird. Somehow, it was way cooler when Koujaku said it. Aoba comes closer again and puts a hand on Karamatsu's elbow to get his attention. He looks sad, but he's not sure what he can do. He just doesn't like leaving on this note. ]

...Do you want to look for them together? This person.

_{[ His voice is small, now. He needs something to fidget with, and the edge of his little kigurumi tail seems to be the easiest thing for him to mess with, pulling out little stray hairs from his nervousness.. his anxiousness. It looks so pathetic. ]}

She probably doesn't want to see me anyway.

[ Aoba feels something strange, a small little twist that feels almost. Hot. In his stomach. Its a strange twinge that he brushes off as stomach upset, probably from the strangely oily cookies he ate. Whatever it is, it's making him feel irritable in a different way than before. Annoyed was more of the proper term to describe his emotional state when he dragged Karamatsu away but now... ]

Totoko-chan? Or some other Karamatsu Girl?

[ Aoba doesn't notice that he's started crossing his arms. ]

Not Totoko-chan.
_{[ His brows pull forward together at the thought of Totoko-chan, remembering it cannot be her. He made that mistake before. She's not here and she'll probably never be here. ]}

I don't think you could even call her that.

[ So another girl. Aoba takes a look at that discouraged look at Karamatsu's face and finds himself relaxing his arms and dropping them to his sides. ]

...Did you ask her out? This girl you like.

Actually.. I just assumed she would be here.
_{[ Is this stalking? This is kind of like stalking. Please tell him how wrong this is, Aoba. ]}

If I get a picture with her in my Halloween costume, I get more points.

[ Karamatsu's unique flavor of antisocial behavior provides Aoba with the perfect excuse to be angry, burying the jealous twist in his stomach in vague disgust. BRUH. ]

[ He saw that 'achievement' game! He's also seen far too many people he likes falling prey to what he thinks is clearly a baiting tactic. But no one ever listens, do they? No one seems to think it'll happen to them. It's enough for him to see them pick themselves out of a dumb situation. They learn their lesson, eventually. But Karamatsu?

Aoba is so much less inclined to entice him into a trap, and that much more motivated to lead him away from this kind of thing. ]

_{[ When he replies, his voice is quiet. His temper has faded (for now) and a different kind of emotion is being on display. Nervousness— anxiety. His teeth glide along each other, gritting from habit as one of his legs bounce, still unable to look Aoba in the face. ]}
