Happy Halloween [ totally open ]

Welcome to the Club

Outside of the club there's some decorations, but they remain minimal, so not to interfere with the glowing sign "Element" to let people know that this is the place to be. There's a bouncer, larger in stature, standing near the entrance of the club. He's there more to ensure that there's no trouble, rather than anything else. He's dressed as Frankenstein, to match the theme of the club's decorations. The only decorations outside, really are an array of neatly organized jack-o-lanterns with a variety of designs and shapes.

In the entranceway, there's fake cobwebs decorating the ceiling, and spiders and bugs decorating the entranceway and walls. Everything is neatly done. Perfectly organized, and details are definitely strongly considered in each and every step. This entranceway is quite dark, though. The only lighting is purple, turned down quite low so not to illuminate, but to keep it safe for people to walk through and get into the club.

The further one steps into the club, the more elaborate the decorations get. While it's still pretty dimly light, though there's more colorful lighting near the dancefloor.
There's so many things to see, including moving skeletons, thanks to a bit of magic courtesy of Nico. In parts of the room, there's ghostly figures in a variety of poses.

One of the corners is lit up completely with a blacklight, and there's some accessories near a shelf that glow in the blacklight.

Another of the corners is lit up a little more brightly, with curtains hanging and a camera. A photobooth with fun props, so that people can have fun capturing pictures of their costumes. Once they take pictures, they'll be given a ticket so that they can get the pictures taken the following day online.

In the center of the club, is the dance floor, off to the side - there's a bar, there's games, food tables, and all sorts of things to keep one entertained for the duration of the night.

Costumes are not required to enjoy the night, but they are certainly recommended and encouraged.


Dance Floor

The dance floor is more brightly lit than the rest of the club. The lights blink and strobe to the beat of the music. The music that is being played is a combination of remixes of songs from various horror movies, remixes of classic rock songs, and audience requests. The clear intention is to get people up, moving, and dancing. The music may be not quite so familiar to people who aren't from a more modern-day earth.

At the front of the dance floor, there's a platform where the DJ is working. Near it, there's a small table where people can write down requests for music that can be played later on in the evening. He's open to suggestions, since people from other worlds or times might want to hear something more familiar to them.

Towards the end of the night, he leaves the platform to participate in the party, and a playlist starts - featuring any music requested, as well as songs that he had picked out earlier in the month to be sure that he'd play for people to participate in.

The last few songs are definitely far less upbeat than the first, as it is meant to slow down the party, encourage people to leave, and get people to cool off from a night out.


Bar

The bar has red lighting above it. It's a long bar, and near one of the walls, opposite from the blacklight and photobooth. There's three bartenders. They're dressed as a vampire, zombie, and a werewolf. They seem happy and excited to be here. They're bouncing round, helping to serve guests as quickly as possible. The glasses come in a variety of designs for customer to get - depending on the drink they get.

The drinks themselves seem to be Halloween themed, with names like "Vampire Blood" and "Witch's Curse". There's both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of most of the drinks available to people to get.



Trick-or-Treat

The wall nearest to the entrance has several foods. All the food is finger food that people can pick up for themselves. So many different treats (and not really any tricks) to pick from. The treats seem to come from various places, as the people who prepared it are used to a variety of people eating the food. There seems to be something suitable for everyone who is attending.

Scattered among the foods are sweets that are particularly favored to Halloween. There's some caramel apples that can be found at the tables, as well as a variety of popcorns and other fun sweet treats.

There's two large bowls (one at either end of the tables) with a variety of sweets - from chocolates, hard candies, to gummies. Basically, if it is a Halloween favorite, it can be found there.

While the bar is always available to get drinks - there's options here for water bottles, and two punch bowls, one with a red concoction, which tastes like fruit punch, and the other is apple cider.


Relaxation & Games

There's so many options and places to hang out in the club. There's games in random spots hanging around - such as bobbing for applies, or pin the tail on the werewolf. Silly, fun things to do to keep people entertained when they're wanting to take a break from dancing.

Also, there's several places near the walls to sit and hang out next to the bar, and between the photobooth and blacklight - against the wall. Tables and with fun decorations, and centerpieces - jack-o-lanterns with lights inside, glowing a bright orange. The tablecloths are black and orange. The seating is comfortable.

Considering they haven't locked me up yet, that would be a yes.

[See, those weapons he has on him right now? They're not just for show. Ivar is considered particularly tough and mean even among his own people. Ivar The Boneless was a Viking remembered in the history book for his vicious nature and cleverness.]

[okay... okay! so this guy's a real viking. Osomatsu's not sure what to do! does he get the hell out of Dodge? try to get on Ivar's good side?]

You... uh. You haven't killed anyone while you were here, have you?

No. [But lest Osomatsu think he's safe, the teenage Viking then adds on:] Not for lack of trying.

[...Ivar, that is not a very reassuring answer.]

I-I see... Well, try to keep it that way! Killing people is... messy!

[ragnarsson]

It is. But you'd be amazed how much satisfaction you can get from it.

[Be thankful there's a whole host of people here watching over the Viking to make sure he stays on the right path. Otherwise, the whole population would be in danger.

[relieable]

[wow... Ivar's starting to sound like a mass murderer now. Osomatsu's sweating]

There are other things that can give you satisfaction, though, right? Like... eating good food, or whacking one out before bedtime...

[Osomatsu please]

[A mass murderer is actually a good description of Ivar. He's killed far too many people to merely be a simple serial killer.

For a moment, Ivar simply stares at Osomatsu with a flat expression. Then he chuckles softly, just once. He's reminded strongly of his brothers for just a moment, for it sounds like something Ubbe or Hvitserk would say, in a different way of course.]

You're strange.

[Yes, that's right. The psychopathic Viking thinks that you're the strange one.]

[a nervous laugh. he could have worded that better, he supposes]

i-I'm serious! Though... I've never killed anyone, so I dunno how satisfying it is.

[ragnarsson]

You should try it sometime. It's right up there with sex for giving you a rush.

[Not that Ivar really has much experience in that either. He's had sex with all of two people in his entire life and the first time was an absolute trainwreck.]

[well, Ivar had more experience than Osomatsu, and he was younger! it wasn't fair that a murderous young viking in a wheelchair could talk about sex and Osomatsu couldn't, but he wasn't going to say that out loud. rather, he just clears his throat and looks away]

If you say so. I'll just stick to sex for now. [like he's some expert]

[Ivar's self-esteem definitely would have gotten a boost if he'd known any of that. Being treated as basically a reject for being a cripple his entire life had given him a skewed version of how people viewed him as a romantic partner. No one would ever want to be with him for any reason other than pity, right?

Fortunately, having four older brothers meant that at least he could talk a great game, even if he was mostly full of hot air. He gives Osomatsu an appraising look as he asks a very blunt questions.]

What do you go for? Men or women?

[WHOA.... what a question! Osomatsu almost chokes on his drink. he turns to look at Ivar, expression full of confusion. should he even dignify the question with a response?]

W-women! [he answers automatically, but he isn't looking at Ivar directly when he says this. truthfully, Osomatsu's a bit unsure. he's been hungering after Totoko for his entire life, but he's also grown up around so many guys, and his cuddling experiences in Riverview were with men, and he hadn't seemed to mind it.

so, actually, Osomatsu probably wouldn't be picky if someone decided to shower him with affection, man or woman]

[ragnarsson]

[The response is amusing enough to Ivar. He hadn't been expecting quite that level of being flustered from the man. (Boy? It's a little hard for him to tell.)

Vikings came from a culture of loose sort of bisexuality, where no one minded who you were bedding as long as you were the dominant one. Ivar had only ever been interested in women back in his own time, but since coming to Riverview, he'd discovered a closet key or two.]

What a shame. You're missing out on half the fun.

[for some reason, this discussion is making Osomatsu feel self-conscious. he flushes darkly, still avoiding eye-contact with the viking. he's a man, actually! a virgin, but still a man!!!! really!]

I mean... [he finally says lowly, so that no one else can hear him] It's not like I'm... gonna exactly turn someone away. If they were interested. An' I was interested...

[ah, he can't believe he's admitting to this. they're strangers! but Ivar is easy to talk to, and Osomatsu's an idiot]

[Suuuuure he is. Maybe once he boxes a bear with his fists or something like that, Ivar will believe it.]

Now we're getting somewhere. [He scoots the chair a little closer as a gesture to make things more confidential. Ivar, like most psychopaths, has the ability to be very charming when he wants to be. It's just so often he chooses not to be. Right now, he's on good behavior, lulled by alcohol and the topic at hand.] Seen anyone here that catches your eye?

[Osomatsu is now thinking about ordering another drink himself. he's slightly intimidated by Ivar, but is trying to not act like the total coward he actually is]

Not... really... [a pause, as he considers] ...I cuddled an' kissed a couple guys, but that was because of that romance festival.

[ragnarsson]

Time to step it up. I suggest lassoing one to gauge their interest level.

[Where does he get these ideas? Well, he's become very fond of Westerns during his time here. It works for cattle...]

Finding someone who stick around seems to be the trouble.

[He sounds quite bitter. His girlfriend had up and left him, leaving him with their daughter to raise on his own, but like hell was he going to bring up that sore subject.]

[lassoing? like a cowboy? that's another subject for another time, actually...]

You sound like you know a lot about this.

[Ivar only acts like he knows what he's doing. While he likes to think he's smarter than everyone else around him, when it comes to romance, he's just as clueless as any other teen.]

I did manage to keep a girlfriend around for five months, so I clearly did something right. And I've got some...prospects on the horizon.

[He shifts just a little on that last sentence as he thinks of the handsome shapeshifter who's been on his mind a lot more recently.]

[five months, he says! well, that's a lot longer than Osomatsu's ever had a girlfriend. or boyfriend. or any kind of friend?]

Auuugh. It seems like everyone's gettin' some but me! [frustrated pout] It's so annoying.

[ragnarsson]

Like I said, lasso one that seems interested. Or do something nice for them to get their attention.

[And just when it seems Ivar might actually be a somewhat decent human being, he adds one:]

Or just kill off all the competition so they have no one to turn to but you.

[Sadly enough, he's been considering this as a possibility himself.]

That means I'd have to kill everyone here, probably. Everyone's competition. [he says this with a smile now, because he's joking. sort of]

[ragnarsson]

There must not be much to you then. You need more muchness.

[Is that even a word? Well, Ivar thinks it is after having about three drinks in his system.]

[ouch. that hits a bit close to home]

...Truthfully, there isn't! I mean, at least when I wasn't working, I had that distinctive characteristic. But now... that I'm here, I can't even lean back on the sextuplet appeal. I'm about as normal as they come.

[he's also a jerk and a pervert, but he doesn't have powers, he's not an ice skater or a viking, or genius, he's not tall and fair-haired, or even that handsome...

a beat. Osomatsu doesn't want to sit here feeling sorry for himself] But! At least I can say now that I've been out of the country... hell, I've been to a new world! Right?

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar leans up and thumps Osomatsu on the shoulder in a friendly way, though his hand is still pretty heavy. It's hard to judge his strength sometimes.]

You're young. There's still time to make something of yourself. Speaking as someone who never had a single thing handed to him his entire life, you have to work hard if you want to carve out a place for yourself in the world. But it's doable.

[In Ivar's case, it had involved surviving through sheer grit, stubbornness, and anger. He'd wanted to be a Viking warrior as worthy as anyone else and he'd done it. He'd be remembered by history, such was the path he'd carved out for himself.]
