who: Ciel & YOU
what: Amnesia event (Ciel has lost almost four years of memories)
when: 12th to the 19th
where: Shared housing, around the city
warnings: Possible mentions of abuse and murder (spoilers for Kuroshitsuji chapter 129+)
[For Undertaker]
Ciel was sleeping late, window open to let in air until it started cooling down for the year. And when he woke, it was...
with panic. He was in a strange bed rather than sleeping in a cold cage curled up in a ball like the other children, his clothes weren't filthy, his back didn't ache, and his eye- he couldn't see out of one eye. That's where most of his fear and panic came from, the rest was from the absence of his brother and the fact that he was somewhere strange.
He didn't bother looking around, instead climbing out of the bed as quickly as he could, throwing open the door of the apartment and running, calling out his brothers name and hoping for an answer.
[Shopping/wandering]
By now, Undertaker had told him the name he was to go by in Riverview, to keep his eye covered, and that he was Earl Phantomhive, not that is helped him at all. He hadn't exactly been groomed to be an earl and that only really did him favors in England.
Exploring should be alright, or he thought it should. He kept his phone with him- a weird phone and it looked absolutely nothing like the phones he'd ever seen. It was slim, almost like it was just a pane of glass, and he had no idea how it really worked. He needed it though. Apparently.
He did visit a couple shops for sweets, that hadn't changed, and a cafe. Those that knew him would probably notice there's a distinctively different air about him.
[River]
Ciel didn't have any swimwear but that didn't stop him from making his way to the beach. And it was okay for him, he wasn't the strongest swimmer. Instead, he was happy to just sit close to the water, slipping his bare feet into the river.
Not for long though. His health wasn't the best and soaking any part of him in cold water would probably invite illness and an asthma fit again.
When he did stop though, he found a quiet spot to skip rocks.

Hey Ciel!

So, for now, he smiles a little nervously and waves.]
Oh, h-hi.
no subject
How's it going? Looking to get more sweets for your business?
no subject
[He stared for a moment, mouth open (his parents, or Aunt Francis, would have reminded him that it's rude to do that. Or he might attract flies.]
I wanted to find somewhere with cocoa.
no subject
I can help with that. There's a coffee shop nearby?
no subject
That's good, I didn't want to have to have to tell Undertaker I got lost. [Even if he would definitely come to 'rescue' him.]
no subject
[ Jon didn't know Ciel had other people here. Maybe someone had arrived earlier? ]

Whatever it was, he felt like a walk, and that was just what he intended to do. Or he had, at least, until he heard a panicked voice screaming a familiar name down the hall. Frowning lightly, he stopped and turned his head in the direction of the voice, unable to clearly see what was going on, though it was hardly a bother to him after so long. He waited, rooted to his place, listening for the voice again. There was no way he had mistaken that, had he?
no subject
His eye was blurry with tears so he could only really make out the hall around him, bare feet smacking against the floor until he ran into someone. His first thought was a cult member, they wore robes but they also would have grabbed him already to return him to the cages with the other children.
So he looked up, rubbing his sleeve over his eyes to clear his vision. And see the last person he was expecting. Other children, the cult, maybe police if he were really hopeful, but not Undertaker.
no subject
"Might be a good idea to watch where you're headed in this place, milord. The buildings seem safe enough, but may be it won't be me you find next time."
no subject
"I can't find Ciel and he promised to protect me. And the cult people aren't here." Where ever 'here' was but it had to be okay, right? Undertaker was there and father had always trusted him. And he's always taken care of him when he was sick.
"I don't know where we are."
no subject
"Is this some sort of game you're playing at? Quite an unusual one if I do say so myself."
no subject
Well, Ciel was more of a trickster than he was but he wouldn't go this far. Not when he'd been so afraid.
"He wouldn't do that."

This was stupid.
"Hey, kid." She had her head pressed to the table at a cafe when she had spotted Ciel. She didn't know him well, he was a brat but she was to frazzled to care. "What cha doing?"
Yuffie was really interested in a distraction.
no subject
Ciel couldn't remember her at all though. And that was a bother, making him more nervous though than annoyed. Even if nobody was going to hurt him. Or, he hoped no one would. Undertaker had warned him that he wasn't sure how safe the city was.
"I was looking for somewhere that had cocoa. Or something sweet."
no subject
Yuffie waved a hand at the empty seat next to her, hoping that was enough to entice the boy to hang out for a little bit. She saw the blank look in his eye, he didn't know her but that was honestly fine.
no subject
For a moment, he did hesitate, not really knowing her but if he was going to be like his brother, he had to be more outgoing.
"Okay. Sure." Ciel made himself smile and then slid into the offered seat.
no subject
She exhaled a soft puff of air. "Never mind, it's a worrying theme the last few days. I'm Yuffie. How ya holding up?" This sort of sucked but oh well, Yuffie wasn't into teasing kids. Unless they were little jackasses first and Ceil's only been nice.
"You want more tea?"
no subject
"Sorry, no. I don't remember anyone here." Maybe she said never mind but he had to fit that apology in. "It's nice to meet you though, Yuffie. Again, I guess. I'm Ciel. And... okay, I guess? Undertaker is helping me."
He could be nice, sometimes. All the time when he was younger and had amnesia. Really, under normal circumstances, it would have had to suit some purpose.
"Tea sounds nice though."

Today he managed to find the small boy skipping stones. He didn't say much just moved quietly up beside him picking up one and skimming it across the surface. Just quietly stealing the kids idea. It was a nice beach after all.
no subject
He never had been too great at this, growing up sickly. And he was better with games like chess or cribbage anyway.
"This... is okay, right?"
no subject
"I think so." he spoke in the thick jersey accent. "I never got to do this much myself. To much crime near the riverside. It's pretty here though."
no subject
"Neither did I." He'd never had to worry about crime. Even if crime had been a problem around him, he'd always had his father and Tanaka to protect him. "I was too sick."
no subject
Jay had been the protector since Willis was arrested, often before that to. A boy forced to take care of his degenerate parents. It had made him strong though. "That sucks, my mom was sick a lot to, she didn't take me out to places like this. I like it though. Its so different from the tall buildings of Park Row." He smiled Ciel's way. "My names Jason. My friends call me Jay though."
no subject
"It's nice to meet you, Jason. My name's Ciel." He hadn't had any opportunities yet to get strong, only ever told he had to be more outgoing, a little more pushy.
