who: Jason Todd what: Jason adjusting to the changes in his life, the loss and return of friends new and old, and other such adventures. when: April 1st - 20th where: The Kent House and around the Perimeter. warnings: Will update.
To those outside of the Sons of the Bat, it would seem like Jason had suddenly started spending more time at home, less time out running around and night. And most importantly less bruised. It was early evening and the Easter celebration had died down. A fun morning of dry death jokes, and Jason doing his best to try and make sure the boys, Tim included, and Wally if he wanted, felt normal as a bat could pull off.
but it was evening and Jason was sitting out on the back steps already having finished the dishes and was generally bored out of his mind. He didn't want to tempt leaving or calling any of his friends so instead he sat on the steps looking at the night sky. Something felt different in the house to him, something besides the loss of his second job.
Jason had made his way in from work, and dosing on the couch until he needed to get up and get the boys fed and off to school. Once they were off he returned home to drop on the couch to sleep his normal vampire hours, the covers pulled high over his head leaving his legs both uncovered and dangling off the side of the couch where he slept these days.
He woke up not to long before the boys were due home, starting up some coffee and sitting at the kitchen table to draft up plans for the renovations to the house, trying to see if he could factor in more room for both Roy and Cass if possible, even if he and Wally had agreed Roy didn't need to live there, Jason felt the option still might need to be open. On the paper he was working his math on, he had also jotted down 'Call Ed' He knew his Moon bff might have ideas to help them out. He had Wally's help and Ed's alchemy, the issues were materials and money for such a project.
Later in the night before Jason was due to work, he headed over to Trixie on his bike. He had promised he would stop avoiding the local god after Valentines day, and he had been doing his best to keep in touch as his life became more and more complicated. But with Cass and Steph now in the world he felt it was time to go to Trixie and visit Loki. He hadn't texted him in a few days and what better way to make it up than to visit in person?
Stepping off the bike, he grabbed a small box as he made his way inside. Having taken the time to read up some more on the Norse gods he decided to be playful and bring a sweet offering to the Norse godling.
Clocking in for the night shift, Jason went to collect his asignment. Tonight wasn't to hard, not that he was complaining after complaining about being bored back in the winter he learned his lession there. The shift went mostly without a hitch. So, when break time came, Jason was leaning against a wall playing on his phone to kill time.
Sending an address to Cassandra, it was mid afternoon when Jason made his way to Lola's new place. He had been meaning to drop by anyway. And a chance to catch up with Cass to see how she was settling in seemed like the best thing to do. He was dressed in black leather pants and a black t-shirt with his brown leather jacket over it. A pair of sunglasses pushed up in his hair as he looked over the menu waiting for both Cass and a chance to see Lola.
[ Jason was just getting off work, which meant it was four am. The best time for bats to be out in the streets. He knew he should probably just go home since he had spent the night bored, and the boys had school in a few hours but instead he opted to do something completely different.
Something that didn't really register until he was in the elevator of the housing heading up to floor six. He had moved out at Christmas to go off with Ed, and Al. Here it was less than five months later and Al was gone, Ed lost half of the memories that made them best friends. And instead he found himself wanting to see the person who first held that title.
He knew Cassandra was on the same floor, ironies kept piling up, but, he walked as quiet as any bat across the floor towards the bed he once occupied. He didn't try to wake his former partner, he simply reached down for the mattress to flip it if Roy didn't manage to stop him before hand. ]
Jason found it strange to ride back with Tim and Damian to the place where they lived. Riding in the back of an old mustang had made him grin though. He always wanted a classic car but he was sure Bruce wouldn't approve with the image Bruce presents. But maybe not, if Tim had such a nice car... though Damian seemed to claim ownership as well. It had to be nice to be so close to ones brothers. he knew he should probably call Dick one of these days, but he was off on Tamaran, maybe once he got back.
A few hours passed before the boy heard a soft mewing. Moving up the stairs quietly he saw the tiny black kitten and his eyes lit up. "Oh golly. Look at you." He spoke as he kneeled and offered a hand out.
It was late in the night, it always was when Jason wore his other face. The one he hides from those who don't know him back home. Sure, he knows Jon knows, he's been helping him learn to dodge bullets of late to, but Cass and Steph didn't know, and he hoped to keep it that way. He let himself get comfortable, to quit trying as hard since their was no point with so many people around with skills that can do a lot of what he does. So he let his mind get the better of him and set his helmet aside.
Since Tim and Damian busted him in the fighting ring he had more or less hung around the house, then started to work on moving into the manor once everything was ready. His first few nights in the manor had been weird to say the least. The house still felt like a graveyard. While he was happy to have a bed, he also felt his insomnia return, and switching back to day shifts didn't help that.
So, it was late and he was out being an idiot, as he's sure Bruce would call him in a good mood. He didn't tell anyone where he was going he just sped off into the night on his motorcycle, with all of his gear in place. It was his usual time when he sent Roy a call, coughing and ragged. Asking for something his pride usually denied him, help. He needed help. Some lucky fool found a weak spot in his body armor, a knife had slid through him like butter and a bullet got his shoulder just after. He had to jump to keep from getting killed, and a band landing sent his knee feeling like it was shattered... He was hidden in an alleyway, much like when he was a boy blending in as best he could as he held the bleeding wound on his side starting to feel dizzy. He knew with both his shoulder and knee throbbing he couldn't drive himself. So he stayed hidden against a dumpster waiting for Roy.
