who: Lucifer and whomever
what: Setting up the bar, continuing to lease out floors, subtly moving Chloe's stuff over.
when: 11-16 August
where: Lux, the building, possibly all over town
warnings: Likely eventual smut in thread w/Chloe. Possible language in other threads. Will update if needed.
Getting the bar set up without Mazikeen there to do most of the heavy lifting for him, or barking at people to do the heavy lifting, was a new experience in itself. He hadn't realized how much he'd relied on her to do so much for him. The day to day things. The contracts. The bills. Even the hiring of staff had been left in her capable hands. Lucifer didn't have much of an inkling of what constituted as 'good' in terms of staff for his place other than 'wanted to be there and was legally allowed to be'. Finding out just how low the drinking age was in Quarantine was a bit of a surprise and he had to mandate that there'd be an age restriction on the club itself. Why? Because he was pro-sex, pro-drugs, and anti-child. Having fourteen year olds dancing around would just kill the mood for him, so Lux would have an 19+ age limit on who'd be allowed in as far as patronage.
He was also still leasing out the other floors that hadn't been rented, so far two taken up by one Stephen Strange and some pack of hooligans with odd markings all over them who he'd been told may not take too kindly to Satan being their landlord. Well, that was their problem, wasn't it?
In an attempt to fill the other floors, before Lux opened for good, he'd be hosting 'come meet your potential landlord' parties; hosting lunches and little shindigs to help get the new staff used to what he expected and to give the potential tenants an idea of what the building would be like when the bar was in swing. Lucifer was all about transparency.
He could also be found in town, looking at furniture and possibly trying to find places to recruit staff and tenants. Or possibly in Lux itself just idly playing with his piano, pleased to have it back and to be able to play as he liked.
[Please feel free to PM regarding any potential cr ideas if nothing here suits your interest. Lucifer can likely be found in a variety of places and I'm happy to have him be more accessible if needed.]

Closed to Chloe
Then it had become a bit of a game. What could he manage to bring over without her noticing? When would she notice? Would she say anything? So far, he'd managed to get most of her toiletries, over half of her clothes, and all of her lingerie into a second dresser he'd just moved in one day, setting it up counter to his. He'd even shifted things in his closet, a few dresses and a jacket hanging in there looking a little forlorn in all the space he'd made for her. One pair of boots (those lovely long ones) and a couple pairs of heels looked almost lonely compared to his army of dress shoes and loafers. He'd recently added a pair of slippers to her side. Big fluffy ones with rabbit ears that he'd found hilarious.
She'd gone to work and a few hours after she'd left, he'd gone to her shared room and taken another satchel full of her things, though there were less and less to choose from. In fact, all he'd left for her in her room was a single change of clothes and a hair tie. And still, she hadn't said anything. All the more reason for him to think that she was okay with it. Clearly she would have spoken up by now if she wasn't, wouldn't she?]

She really liked his hair in the mornings. The way it curled as he leaned in to kiss her.
And maybe part of it was her not wanting to notice it. Not yet. Not when everything was still strange and she'd recently discovered these new abilities that turned her world upside down. It was easier to let herself have this one thing, where she could feel natural. Normal, even, though their relationship was the furthest thing from normal. But Chloe is nothing if not pragmatic, and even she has her limits before enough is enough. Walking back into her room that evening and noticing just how many of her things are missing has her taking her phone out of her pocket before she can even really think about it, texting him a quick What did you do to my room? before rolling her eyes at her own stupidity.
She knows exactly what he did. And she suspects she knows exactly where to find him.
She grabs a bag he'd missed that'd been shoved underneath her bed and throws the remaining clothes into it before leaving the building entirely. Lucifer should be expecting a visitor sometime very, very soon.]
no subject
I didn't do anything to your room.
[Nothing but the truth. He'd only touched her things alone while packing it all up. God forbid he get child germs on him. It was bad enough she had her own spawn that apparently took pleasure in latching onto him at every opportunity back home. He didn't need strange not-related-to-Chloe spawn doing the same. Eww.
He'd be at Lux, playing his piano and waiting for what he expected to be Hurricane Chloe.]

Lucifer?
[She calls out to him as she steps into Lux (because he'd given her a key, and if that alone wasn't enough of a hint -- great detective skills there, Decker -- then she didn't know what was), taking note of the music and automatically following the sound, knowing it would lead to him.]
no subject
[He called out as he continued to play, softening the notes and turning the song into something quieter and slower, a subconscious effort to soothe her before she even got there.]
no subject
So, funny story. I came home today to discover pretty all of my belongings missing, including my clothes. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?
no subject
[Fingers still tripping over the keys, he turned to look over at her, smiling just as softly as the music was playing.]
no subject
I have. But when it comes to literally everything I own disappearing, it's not quite the same thing. Most of the time, the owner should be the one in charge of bringing things over, you know. Or at least told before it happens.
no subject
I see you carrying a bag of your own. Are you... bringing things over? Or taking things back?

Lux
She was dressed in clothes appropriate for the hot weather and as always wearing the silver cross around her neck. When she spotted Lucifer near the bar she walked over, her fingers fiddling with the glinting pendant.
"Do you mind if I wear this here?" Kate didn't mean to sound sassy but that's definitely how the phrase came out.
no subject
But for all he knew, maybe the Devil in her world, if there was one, was something different. Something darker. Until recently, he could have claimed never to have killed anyone. Billions and billions of years of existence and he'd only monitored the worst of the worst, not divulged in more than a little carnal enjoyment himself. Perceptions...
Tricky things.
no subject
"No offense but you don't seem like you're a bad person." Lustful, sinful and a bit immoral, but not bad.
The god that Kate believed in wasn't in the Old Testament. He wasn't filled with wrath and hate but forgiveness and love. She remembered what she had said just before she died, just before arriving in Quarantine. Maybe she'd been wrong then... as strange as it was, meeting Lucifer resorted a bit of her faith.
no subject
"So, how are you getting on, then? Enjoying yourself here? We should be opening soon. Just need a few more bodies to fill all the spots."
no subject
"How many more openings do you need filled?" She asked politely to keep the conversation going.
no subject
"Oh, you know. A few more dancers for both sides, extra bartenders for busy nights. Maybe another security staff, just in case. I do like to be prepared. I wouldn't mind finding myself a manager, either. Maze was always better at this than I."
no subject
She looked around the room before once again look at Lucifer, he had a way to pull her gaze away from anything else. "If you need help with the books I can lend a hand. I learn quickly and I'm good at math." Kate was comfortable working with numbers.
no subject
He was well aware that Kate seemed to be of the type that found him... interesting. Which is why he made sure to not encourage it beyond her general enjoyment of his presence. Another time and a few more years, perhaps. "The offer's appreciated. I'll let you know if something manages to work itself out or not. Now, what about the rest of the city, mm? Anything interesting that catches your attention out there?"

Lux | Meeting the Landlord | Playing Lucifer's Piano
But he was curious. Lucifer Morningstar, according to Alec, wasn't the same fallen angel they'd read about growing up. He was an upstanding citizen and business man. He was certainly busy with business things at the moment and had not only rented one floor out to their family, but was trying to rent out the others. He'd find out to whom eventually, just for general knowledge. It was always good to know who your neighbors were. Not that he was worried. Alec had reassured him they had nothing to worry about or to fear from the Devil himself.
no subject
Was Lucifer slightly possessive over his few favorite toys? Very much so. He'd seen the younger man going up to the floor he'd rented to Alec, but he didn't know him beyond being someone that was staying there. "Bar's open, if you'd like. You're on the floor with the one who's met another me, aren't you? The Hell that's not my Hell?"
no subject
Not anymore.
"Funny things. Alternate universes." He commented, letting the last notes he'd played fade away. "Jace Wayland. You've met my brother, Alec. I heard he spoke at length to you about a lot of things."
no subject
He didn't look surprised about the title given to him. "Brother, mm? He mentioned something about siblings and husbands. Weren't quite sure which one you were. The chat wasn't that long, really. A little discussion. A few assurances that I have no desire for any souls, yours or otherwise. I even had an outside lawyer draw up the contract. Seemed fair enough. Is there something about it you don't like?"
no subject
"No, not at all. But I was curious. It's not everyday you get to meet a fallen angel from another Hell." But the description would fit his father very well, now that he thought about it. "I trust Alec to know what he was doing when he signed the contract. It is fair and appreciated."
He stopped abruptly and asked, "How do you feel about renovations?"
no subject
A sip, Lucifer watching as Jace continued to play. He wasn't bad, but his choice in music was abysmal. "Depends on the renovations. I've told another tenant that I don't mind alterations, as long as it's not anything that'd affect the structural integrity. Be a shame to get this place only for someone to make it all fall down."
no subject
He switched from Beethoven to Billy Joel.
"I swear by the Angels, I won't bring the entire building down." Jace smirked. "But my sister needs a bigger closet for her shoes and I thought an indoor greenhouse would be nice."
no subject
If he didn't know better, he'd say the boy was trying to show off. Lucifer smiled, taking another sip as he did. "Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to call myself tame. Just not quite up to the lies others have said about me. People are often more likely to believe a lie to the truth, after all. But, yes, do as you please. He did ask for a floor with balcony access. Any of you fly?"
