who: Lucifer and whomever
what: Setting up the bar, continuing to lease out floors, subtly moving Chloe's stuff over.
when: 11-16 August
where: Lux, the building, possibly all over town
warnings: Likely eventual smut in thread w/Chloe. Possible language in other threads. Will update if needed.
Getting the bar set up without Mazikeen there to do most of the heavy lifting for him, or barking at people to do the heavy lifting, was a new experience in itself. He hadn't realized how much he'd relied on her to do so much for him. The day to day things. The contracts. The bills. Even the hiring of staff had been left in her capable hands. Lucifer didn't have much of an inkling of what constituted as 'good' in terms of staff for his place other than 'wanted to be there and was legally allowed to be'. Finding out just how low the drinking age was in Quarantine was a bit of a surprise and he had to mandate that there'd be an age restriction on the club itself. Why? Because he was pro-sex, pro-drugs, and anti-child. Having fourteen year olds dancing around would just kill the mood for him, so Lux would have an 19+ age limit on who'd be allowed in as far as patronage.
He was also still leasing out the other floors that hadn't been rented, so far two taken up by one Stephen Strange and some pack of hooligans with odd markings all over them who he'd been told may not take too kindly to Satan being their landlord. Well, that was their problem, wasn't it?
In an attempt to fill the other floors, before Lux opened for good, he'd be hosting 'come meet your potential landlord' parties; hosting lunches and little shindigs to help get the new staff used to what he expected and to give the potential tenants an idea of what the building would be like when the bar was in swing. Lucifer was all about transparency.
He could also be found in town, looking at furniture and possibly trying to find places to recruit staff and tenants. Or possibly in Lux itself just idly playing with his piano, pleased to have it back and to be able to play as he liked.
[Please feel free to PM regarding any potential cr ideas if nothing here suits your interest. Lucifer can likely be found in a variety of places and I'm happy to have him be more accessible if needed.]

Lux | Meeting the Landlord | Playing Lucifer's Piano
But he was curious. Lucifer Morningstar, according to Alec, wasn't the same fallen angel they'd read about growing up. He was an upstanding citizen and business man. He was certainly busy with business things at the moment and had not only rented one floor out to their family, but was trying to rent out the others. He'd find out to whom eventually, just for general knowledge. It was always good to know who your neighbors were. Not that he was worried. Alec had reassured him they had nothing to worry about or to fear from the Devil himself.
no subject
Was Lucifer slightly possessive over his few favorite toys? Very much so. He'd seen the younger man going up to the floor he'd rented to Alec, but he didn't know him beyond being someone that was staying there. "Bar's open, if you'd like. You're on the floor with the one who's met another me, aren't you? The Hell that's not my Hell?"
no subject
Not anymore.
"Funny things. Alternate universes." He commented, letting the last notes he'd played fade away. "Jace Wayland. You've met my brother, Alec. I heard he spoke at length to you about a lot of things."
no subject
He didn't look surprised about the title given to him. "Brother, mm? He mentioned something about siblings and husbands. Weren't quite sure which one you were. The chat wasn't that long, really. A little discussion. A few assurances that I have no desire for any souls, yours or otherwise. I even had an outside lawyer draw up the contract. Seemed fair enough. Is there something about it you don't like?"
no subject
"No, not at all. But I was curious. It's not everyday you get to meet a fallen angel from another Hell." But the description would fit his father very well, now that he thought about it. "I trust Alec to know what he was doing when he signed the contract. It is fair and appreciated."
He stopped abruptly and asked, "How do you feel about renovations?"
no subject
A sip, Lucifer watching as Jace continued to play. He wasn't bad, but his choice in music was abysmal. "Depends on the renovations. I've told another tenant that I don't mind alterations, as long as it's not anything that'd affect the structural integrity. Be a shame to get this place only for someone to make it all fall down."
no subject
He switched from Beethoven to Billy Joel.
"I swear by the Angels, I won't bring the entire building down." Jace smirked. "But my sister needs a bigger closet for her shoes and I thought an indoor greenhouse would be nice."
no subject
If he didn't know better, he'd say the boy was trying to show off. Lucifer smiled, taking another sip as he did. "Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to call myself tame. Just not quite up to the lies others have said about me. People are often more likely to believe a lie to the truth, after all. But, yes, do as you please. He did ask for a floor with balcony access. Any of you fly?"
no subject
"If given a choice I think they'd prefer death by speeding taxi. Less terrifying than being ripped apart by a demon." He thought about what Alec had said about not sharing their big secret and focused on simply playing for a moment. "I once rode a flying motorcycle. Does that count?"
no subject
no subject
"Demon energy. It only flew at night and it was very fast. I stole it from a vampire." Jace was still very pleased with himself over that and he missed the motorcycle. It was fun while it lasted. But that isn't the reason Jace suddenly stopped playing. "You can fly? Glamoured wings or Peter Pan style?"
no subject
He truly sounded thrilled by all of it, but there was also a look of almost indignation when Jace mentioned his wings. "Glamored? I think not. Real, thank you. Newly regained, though that wasn't here, neither does it matter. Ask nicely and I might show them, if you promise not to try to pet them. That's for the Detective alone."
no subject
He certainly would love to see Lucifer's wings. And he's realizing why Alec was so interested in talking to him. He's finding it difficult not asking every question that pops into his head. "I never thought you were going to eat anyone. Tame. Remember?" he teased, smiling.
"Asking nicely really isn't my thing. Neither is petting." He can be polite and respectful, after dealing with the Seelie Queen on several occasions he knows when to be charming and when to keep his mouth shut, which is part of the reason he's not asking. "I think I'll let you decide if I'm worthy."
no subject
The mention of him being 'tame' also earns a huff, which he covers with another sip of his drink. "You know, you keep up with the cheeky bugger routine and I might have to find something cute and stupid to gift you as a welcoming present. Like a pet. Or a child."
no subject
"Cheeky bugger?" He asked, continuing to play for a moment longer. "Do I have a choice as to the type and size of this potential pet gift?"
Maybe a pet would give everyone something cute to focus on. Like Max cute, but furrier.
no subject
Well.
no subject
But he wasn't sure he wanted to be stuck with a gift he couldn't return. He might like it or he may find it the worst possible punishment for being a cheeky bugger. He was still amused by that. So he stopped playing and considered something carefully.
"I think I'll have to pass on the terrible gift. For now."
And the question he was considering asking. If Lucifer didn't know he was Nephilim then he probably wouldn't be able to tell him if he had demon blood.
no subject
"Perhaps I'll not drop one by. For now." He smiled finishing his drink, then patting at the piano. "When the club's up, do try to keep from just randomly playing. No need if it's closed."
no subject
Jace very lightly dragged a fingertip over the keys, making it sound a bit like a windchime, before turning away.
"When I'm finished with the renovations I'll invite you over for dinner."
no subject
Yes, Jace, he was teasing. It was what he did best. "That might be... interesting. Mind if I bring someone?"
