[Watching Alec and Magnus together feels like intruding on something he didn't realize he wanted until he'd met Clary. Now it seems like his father was right all along. Except he can't believe that it's true. Not for Magnus and Alec. Alec feels happier, more confident in ways he hadn't been free to be before. The kiss changed everything and he is happy Alec chose to jump instead of going through with the wedding.

The bachelor party Izzy made up just to get them in the same room together. The one Alec doesn't remember. He decides not to upset Alec again and follows his and Magnus's lead.]

Bachelor party is more a Mundane tradition. A party sounds nice. Something small with Izzy and Max. I could cook.

[Jace offers Magnus and Alec a easy smile, watching them now because how he feels doesn't matter. He will not say or do anything to hurt Alec. Not again. Love just isn't for him. And he's also decided as of right now that he's okay with that.]

[Humming as he's kissed, he steals another one before Alec is turning his attention back towards Jace. Magnus' hands stay put just above Alec's jeans, for the time being, but his fingers tap idly against the jut of both hip bones.

Unaware of the bachelor party the parabatai had been forced to attend together, Magnus nods to agree with Jace.] We skipped everything but the vows and 'I do's, if I remember correctly. [Then again, his recollection of their wedding was as mixed up as the rest of his memories and just as unlikely to be easily sorted out.

Eyebrow quirking in interest, he tilts his head to one side and ends up resting it against Alec's.] Where was this desire to cook when you were living with me?

[Alec knows that he should pull away from Magnus. His parabatai should not have to watch them cuddle and get handsy in public. But Magnus' hands are staying in a relatively chaste position and Jace doesn't seem bothered by it. He's seen them kiss before and Alec has walked in on a few intimate moments between Jace and his flings. If Jace shows any discomfort over his closeness with Magnus, he'll move.]

We danced afterward. I remember that. [Someone had played piano, but the memory is incomplete. It seems like it was Jace, but neither Magnus nor Jace seemed to remember that part of the wedding.

Giving Jace a confused look, he tried to picture his parabatai cooking and failed. There'd been hurried meals thrown together after hunts or because they needed to make dinner for Max, but Jace had never cooked a proper meal. He didn't even heat up canned soup when he was distracted.]

He was probably too busy cleaning. Things always have to be in the right place. [The comment is made in a gentle, teasing tone that is familiar between the parabatai.] I like that idea. Magnus and Izzy could take Max shopping for the things he needs while Jace and I cook.

[That would get Izzy out of the apartment so she couldn't help Jace with dinner and wouldn't be too suspicious since Alec normally would avoid a shopping trip.]

[Jace couldn't remember any of this happening. He'd clearly missed the wedding which was why they were discussing a party to celebrate. But when had he lived with Magnus? And why does Magnus remember and he doesn't?

His expression softens from confused worry and he manages a small smile for Alec.] I like things to be organized. [He can't help admiring the way Alec and Magnus fit together, their comfortability, where they touch each other. Only briefly before the ache in his chest forces his attention elsewhere.] A nice...family dinner. When was the last time that happened?

[From Jace's expression and the slight tensing of Alec's muscles, Magnus gets the impression that they're all made uncomfortable by the discussion of the past. Memories had been giving them all a little trouble, and so it was probably best to steer away from that issue and focus on something else.

For Magnus, that involves moving one hand and slipping the tips of his fingers just beneath the top of Alec's jeans. He's so tempted to touch him, but even if they've talked about putting on a show, he thinks it would be cruel to Alec to do too much in front of the man he'd loved for so long. And for Jace, it would doubtlessly be awkward to watch his brother and parabatai being felt up.]

As long as you don't touch any of my potion ingredients, you're welcome to come over and organize any time you like. [But he definitely needed his own brand of organized chaos for his magical items.] But I don't think we need the excuse of a belated wedding reception to all have a meal together. Maybe we could do something this weekend? I'd be happy to distract Isabelle and keep her out of the kitchen.

[Alec doesn't exactly tense beneath Magnus' hand, but there is a shift in his stance, a hint that his husband's teasing shouldn't go become more intimate while Jace is watching. He's still trying to understand the complicated feelings that were attached to any thoughts relating to his parabatai but he knows that no matter how much they share, Jace doesn't want to watch Magnus get handsy.]

I know better than to let anyone near your magic supplies. [The thought it slightly terrifying considering some of the ingredients he'd seen stored in the loft.

For some reason he's disappointed when he tries to remember the last family dinner. He's not sure if that means that his memory is still fragmented or if they just hadn't bothered with those kind of gatherings in the past.]

I... don't know. Getting together at Taki's doesn't count as a family dinner. [Magnus hadn't been with them then, but why? As he concentrates on that thought, it slips away, but leaves behind something that makes his heart ache.] This weekend would be good. We'd have time to set everything up so Izzy doesn't get suspicious.

[Jace notices. He notices where Magnus's fingertips disappear. He notices the shift. He notices the details. Alec's uncertainty. Another memory that he doesn't share with Magnus or Alec.

They're familiar with each other in a way only two people who have shared lives together can be.]

I should go. Let you two enjoy the night. Family dinner this weekend.

[He's slowly walking backwards, preparing to turn and head in the opposite direction as soon as he's said goodnight.]

We'll make the plans official when it's not date night.

[This wasn't Magnus' intention, because even if Alec doesn't appear uncomfortable, Jace is obviously no longer interested in being around. He'd clearly pushed too far, but he could have sworn there was a hint of desire, maybe jealousy, in Jace's expression. Then again, he doesn't know Jace or his emotions very well.

Removing his hand, he slides it around to rest on Alec's hip as he moves to stand beside him rather than behind.] There's no reason to go unless you want to. [Maybe it was his own small way of saying that he'd behave while Jace was around.] After all, this exhibition is all about comfort and consent.

Jace? [Alec knew they'd pushed too far but he isn't sure why Jace isn't telling them to get a room or snarking at them. The hand at his jeans had been close to crossing the line but Jace had seen worse. He'd walked in on them a couple times when Jace had to go hunt demons on a night that Alec thought he was going to have a date with Magnus.

It doesn't make sense. Jace never acted like this when he was with Magnus. Pulling away from Magnus, he brushes his fingers against Jace's arm, trying to ignore the way his stomach drops, a hint of something about parabatai teasingly close but refusing to resolve itself.]

Jace... [He isn't sure what to say since he hasn't been able to get through to his parabatai for months.] We can go somewhere calmer and figure out dinner.

[Hopefully Magnus won't mind if part of their date is interrupted.]

I'm comfortable. [What did they say about protesting too hard? He'd read it in a book somewhere and normally he had near perfect memory for details, especially lines from books, but at the moment his brain felt a bit too mushy. Hormones were usually fun.

He caught Alec's hand.

He didn't really want to go. He also didn't want Alec and Magnus to know he was turned on by the exhibition. And not the one going on around them.

Fighting back a small humorless smile, Jace was sure of one thing. He didn't want to leave and let Alec think he had a problem with him or with Magnus. Or him and Magnus.]

You came here to enjoy yourselves. Don't stop because of me. [He hesitated a moment before asking Magnus:] You're sure you don't mind me tagging along?

[Raising an eyebrow at Jace's insistence, Magnus keeps his mouth shut rather than replying with more questions. His side feels cold without Alec's body warm fitted beneath his arm, but he tries to focus instead on the importance of letting the parabatai rebuild their relationship. Magnus had moments of jealousy, both of the history the two shared as well as the bond between their souls, but he knew it was childish and pointless.

He watched the two with sharp eyes, the way that Jace caught onto Alec's hand and gripped it. Obviously he didn't want to leave Alec, so Magnus would just have to keep a little distance for now as to not drive him away. Waving a hand, he walked past them and towards something else, pretending anything could be more eye-catching than the pair.] Of course not. You're a part of Alec's life, and that makes you a part of mine.

[He feels slightly guilty that his date with Magnus is being sidetracked but the festival is for a few days. They could spend an hour or two with Jace, couldn't they?

Would Magnus be okay with it? He'd been jealous of Jace before, hating even the smallest gesture of affection that Alec shared with his parabatai. They seemed to be getting along now that they were rooming together, but Alec doesn't want to push and have that good will ruined. It doesn't help that Jace is sending mixed messages, saying he should leave while clinging to Alec like he expects him to disappear forever if he lets go. For months, he barely existed to Jace and now this. As Magnus pretends to look at one of the displays, Alec knows what his husband is doing and gives him a grateful smile as he walks by.]

Magnus has been around parabatai before. He knows that where one goes, the others follows. He knew we're a package deal when he started dating me.

If you're really worried about it, keep an eye on Max later so we can sneak out. [Maybe if he added that 'incentive' for their date to be postponed, Jace won't feel like he's intruding.]

[Jace watched Magnus as he passed. He had never shared Alec with anyone before, but considering the whole mess with Alec being forced to share him with Clary he honestly didn't blame Magnus if he didn't feel like sharing.

It seemed inevitable that their relationship would change with their hearts. Alec loved Magnus. Jace couldn't help thinking he'd missed his chance.

Chance for what he wasn't sure. Everything was a huge mess in his head.]

I'll stay with Max. [And then more quietly, turning back to Alec.] I doubt the parabatai Magnus knew crashed intimate date night.

[Standing apart from the two, he realized that the display he'd gravitated towards was for a series of novelty sex toys that were sure to make Alec blush. While Magnus didn't care much, and really had been around too long to be shocked by anything, he couldn't help thinking it wasn't exactly going to calm Jace down, either. Whirling around, his eyes rested on Alec for a moment before flicking over to Jace.]

It's true, I've known a few over the years. The two of you are definitely the most handsome package I've seen, though. [His lips quirked at the corner, unable to keep a totally straight face at the innuendo.

Snorting softly, he rolled his eyes and continued to walk along the aisle and towards the exit.] Some of the parabatai were the intimate date night. At least I assume. [He glanced back at the two in order to assure they were following him.] Why don't the three of us have some lunch?

[Izzy's not even bothering to hide her amusement. Alec is learning because he's opening himself up to more things. That exposure is, in large part, due to Magnus and their relationship. It's been good for her brother. Still, to hear him actively give his preference between eyeliner and glitter.] I'm going to go with both. [Izzy's grin grows a bit and she spares a wink for her brother.

She's not questioning why he has the preference, but since he does she might as well share that she won't pick between the two. It's just a fun conversation. She's not putting a ton of stock into it...maybe because overthinking the false memories and everything else.] Go with your gut on the preference, confidence is all about that. And not doubting yourself unnecessarily.

[Izzy teases before giving a slight shrug of her shoulders.] I was fashionably late, I can't say what their excuses might be....maybe they'll show up, maybe they won't. [Unlike in Wayward Pines, Izzy remembers their friends now...the dorky Simon with plenty of charm to spare...and then Clary, whose style could use some help, but who is a great friend and very special in her own right.] All we can do is wait and see.

[Following the gesture, Iz lifts her chin and attempts to give herself a bit of added height by shifting on her feet, but she doesn't quite spot them. She does believe Alec, though, obviously.] Here's hoping Jace keeps our baby brother out of trouble while he's watching him. [The tease falls out naturally, as does the next.] I'm sure Magnus'll find you sooner rather than later.

I take it that you, and Max, were enjoying yourselves so far, though?
