[ This is a mingle log, so everyone feel free to write up your own starters, or just vaguely list out things your character might be up to, so other people know how they'd encounter them and where/how to engage. Some ideas for Perimeter Guard stuff:

• studying maps and working on map expansion;
• compiling wild animal data, reading/writing reports, other boring paperwork stuff;
• checking weaponry and devices, making repairs, etc.;
• going beyond the wall for a bit of surveying and exploration;
• checking out the shuttle currently being repaired (only Poe and Jim would actually be able to take it out for a test flight of any kind, but feel free to poke either of us if you'd like to thread that out!).

Cadet? No, not exactly. But I work with the Search and Rescue part of the Perimeter Guard. [ She just -barely- squeaked by being classified as 'cadet'. ]

[ Jon's handshake is firm, though Marinette might not notice it as Ladybug. ]

You're not that much older than me though, right?

[ Marinette shook her head a little, though she gave him a more gentle handshake herself. ]

Yeah, just a few years older I'd bet. You're.. what, twelve?

Ten.

[ Maybe he is tall for his age. Damian is much shorter and he's thirteen. ]

[ Marinette nodded a little. Better to guess higher than lower with boys right? ]

How long have you been a part of the Perimeter Guard?

[ She didn't have any room to talk about him being too young to participate - she wasn't that much older than him. Though considering she was apparently legally of age to drink here, she was technically adult age. ]

[supersweet]

A few months.

[ Jon shrugs, trying to look casual. ]

They didn't let kids in until recently. They don't do anything with us, though. And I can help!

They're probably worried about you getting hurt. You know adults. [ Always wanting to protect kids, even if they were perfectly capable. ]

So you have super powers or something? What can you do?

[supersweet]

Oh, uhm. I can fly. I have super strength. Super breath. Enhanced hearing and vision . . . .

[ Jon trails off awkwardly. ]

You can do all of that? [ And the adults -don't- want him helping? Whaat. ]

That's pretty awesome!

[ Jon blinks. ]

Really? I mean, I'm not all that great at it. I'm still training.

Of course! [ She would kill to be able to fly. Well. Not kILL... ]

There aren't many people out there who are 'great' at what they do, especially when they're just starting out. There are even adults out there who are still learning about their abilities, I bet. I know I am, and I can't do HALF as much as you can. I'm kind of jealous~!

[ Jon boggles a little at this reaction. Most people don't really react all that happily to Jon's list of powers. Mostly they look worried. ]

Oh. Well. I'm sure your powers are cool too?

[ She has weird reactions to stuff. She chuckles a little, scratching behind her head. It was fine to express her opinion when they were in a safe scenario, but when it was dangerous, she would likely still keep an eye out for him - just because. ]

I don't know about that. [ She reaches into her hip-pouch, taking out a spotted yoyo. ] I've got this to fight with, or swing around the city - the string is indestructable, and I haven't yet found a limit on its length, so that's pretty cool. And I can use my Miraculous to create an item that'll help me in my fights, or reverse damage to an area - which I admit, is pretty handy if a fight I'm in gets a little... destructive.

[supersweet]

And you can do all of that . . . with a yoyo?

[ Cool. Jon doesn't know much about magic, since it is a sort of Kryptonite for him, but he's always been fascinated by it. ]

[ She grins. ]

Well, it's more with my magic than the yoyo itself. The yoyo is just a... a vessel that transforms into the charm with the magic of my Miraculous.

[supersweet]

Why a yoyo though?

[ These are important questions. ]

[de_evilise]

[ The most important! ]

Well... Why not a yo-yo?

[ She giggled faintly. ]

But seriously, it wasn't my choice. At this point I don't question what the Miraculous wants to do, and the Yo-yo came as part of my power.

[supersweet]

That's fair. Magic's weird like that. One of my dad's friends has an invisible jet.

[ Wonder Woman is great okay. ]

An invisible jet? That's really cool, but... I mean, how do they *find* it?

[ Maybe it's only invisible when it's flying? ]

[ Jon blinks. ]

Y'know, I never asked.

I bet they have some way of finding it, or it'd be pretty embarrassing bumping into it when they're trying to get in and fly.

It's magic, right? I bet that has something to do with it.

Yeah. I think the magic is pretty special too.

[ Something to do with gods and stuff. Jon doesn't remember much of it. ]

Do you have a lot of people who use magic where you're from?

[supersweet]

[ Jon considers this thoughtfully. ]

I guess? We have all kinds of people. Magic, aliens, people from different dimensions. Science experiments. There's always someone special.

... Whoah. That's... WWWWWWWWAY more than we've got back home.

[ She kind of regrets the lack of variety, but at the same time, she probably should be glad since it's less confusing and chaotic that way. ]
