Awesome.
[ She semi-limps over to the couch at that point, flopping down on it and setting the suit down next to her before she takes another sip of coffee. ]
I don't know how exactly it'd need to get fixed. It's this kinda snug and sturdy but breathable material? I'm sure you know what that's like.
[ And then she sighs. ]
And don't worry. My friend took care of me afterward but since he's apparently not a real medical professional, I got checked out by the medics with the Perimeter Guard today. I just need to be careful not to reopen the wound and stuff.

[ Cisco scoops up the suit, pulls it into his lap so he can examine it properly. It's well-made, he can tell that right away. A lot of care, nothing spared for expense, clearly altered to fit Hana specifically. For just a moment, before he gets a good look at it, he feels a flicker of worry that there will be some component or substance he's not familiar with, but those worries evaporate the moment he gets a good look at it. ]
Oh, yeah, this'll be no trouble. I can get this fixed up for you before you're done with that coffee, if you want.
[ He'll need to clean it, make sure there's no blood, but then it should be a relatively simple matter to patch up. He's sure she hadn't gotten cut on purpose, but it's as if she did: it's really in the ideal spot for an easy repair. He thinks he might even be able to manage it in a way that'll look pretty cool after - make it seem like a decorative seam rather than a patch-up job. Cisco gets up, bringing the suit with him over to a table, moving a magnifying light over to it, and then starting to collect the materials he'll need. He's been working on making suits for Taako and Eddie, so he has plenty of the necessary stuff scattered in the near vicinity.
As he gathers needles and cleaners and more, he asks: ]
So you were living over there, right? In the communal housing? You got a place to stay now?
no subject
Except that it really doesn't, and by the time Hana's reached peak comfort he's already getting up and making moves to repair the suit right there and then. She has to sit back up at least a little bit for how quickly this has all transpired. Dude, Cisco, chill. ]
Uh. Wait, you don't need to do it right now—
[ And then he's gathering supplies and Hana just. Sinks back into the couch with her coffee cup in her hands. ]
Well. Okay. I'm planning on taking my sweet time with this coffee so I guess that's fine. And yeah, I was on the tenth floor pretty much right above where it started. They were pretty fast about getting the place back up and running, but I was already thinking about moving out with my friend, so I think we're gonna start looking at places soon.

[ There's no likely way for Hana to know who Cisco might know, unless that friend had mentioned him independently. Still, he has met a fair few people here. Particularly after he'd put up those fliers offering to give people who needed it tech help, and through his work supplying stuff to the Guard and the emergency services. Cisco might not know everybody, but he knows a lot of folks.
As he is asking, he sits himself down and gets to work, laying everything out and cleaning the torn portion of the suit thoroughly and carefully. ]
I moved out a few months ago, and I'm pretty glad, now. I mean... I heard a rumor it probably wasn't the wiring or anything like that that started the fire, but even so. Kinda freaks me out retrospectively. Besides, it's just nicer having a place of your own. More privacy, you know?

His name's Genji. If you haven't met him yet, you probably should. You'd love him— he's like a cyborg ninja dude.
[ She takes a sip of her coffee before continuing on, ]
I don't know if I really felt unsafe in there except for when it was on fire, but yeah, I definitely need privacy. Ten people is too many people to be sharing one living space in, for me! I need my own room, a place to set up my rig, a bigger closet and my own bathroom. So yeah, we're moving out.
no subject
A cyborg ninja? Are you serious? You're fucking with me, right? You gotta be.
[ How is he not already best friends with this man? Okay, Cisco does actually realize that while conceptually this Genji person sounds awesome, he can't assume stuff about him just because he happens to be both a cyborg and a ninja. Maybe their personalities would clash. Maybe he would annoy the shit out of the guy. The fact that Hana is friends with him and trusts him enough to want to live with him is a good sign, at least. ]
I hope you find someplace good. I kinda cheated, didn't do the whole apartment hunt. Just sorta moved into my friend's attic bedroom that nobody was using.
[ He turns back to his work, quickly threading a need with strong thread and examining the tear, where it will need to be reinforced, where best to stitch it so it'll be strong and look decent, to boot. ]
You and Genji know each other before, or did you meet here?
no subject
One hundred percent serious! He's the real deal, and he's really super nice and cool. You'll like him.
[ Hana watches him work on her suit out of the corner of her eye, partly watching how he handles her suit, but mostly just curious about what he does with it. Maybe he'll teach her, sometime, and maybe at some point she can start working on her own things with the mech, too, though she'll likely leave the really complex things to an expert like him. In any case— at his next question, she hums thoughtfully. ]
Both, kinda? I mean, we knew of each other back home. He was part of this organization and I'm - you know, super famous and a big deal - so we recognized each other right away when I got here and I guess we've gotten pretty close since that! I mean... there are a bunch of people here from our world who aren't friendly, so we've got to stick together, you know?
no subject
[ He speaks as he works, both processes independent of one another - he seems to have mastered the ability to have a full conversation while doing something intricate and entirely unrelated with his hands. Cisco doesn't notice Hana watching, or even think about her lounging on the couch much; most of his attention is focused on the suit, and the repairs. He lines up a few pieces of supplemental fabric, along the inside in the places that need strengthening, and without hesitation starts to sew. It's clear from the practiced movements that this is something he's done quite a lot. ]
Yeah, you mentioned that before. About having enemies here from your world. I know it's probably not any of my business, but also, it's not exactly a secret that I'm helping out with your mech, so maybe it is a tiny bit my business? If that's gonna put me in anybody's crosshairs... Anyway, it's cool if you don't wanna give me the whole backstory, but you think I could get, like, the digest version, at least? What've these people got against you?

Genji is like, the coolest person around. And he's a big nerd, too, so you'll be fine, Cisco.
[ One of these days, he'll have to ask him, too, about what he did when he was back in his own... dimension or whatever. He seems to know exactly what he's doing; and back home, she'd always heard about what the big names in Overwatch were doing and how incredible they were, and whenever MEKA scored a big win it was always her name in news articles and social media all over the world - but watching Cisco makes her think of how there must have been so many people like Cisco behind them all, from the Overwatch crews to her MEKA engineers, doing all the things that keep everyone in top shape.
But— right. He's asking a question. Hana folds her arms, coffee cup still in hand, and sighs. ]
They're part of a terrorist organization called Talon. I honestly don't even know what they want, except for make things awful for other people. They do all sorts of shady stuff— assassinations, kidnapping, inciting conflict, that kind of thing. I've— I've never actually encountered them until now. But they know who I am [ since she is a big deal at home and all ] and they think it's fun to talk down to me because they think I'm just some child in a giant robot.
no subject
[ The actual stuff that she describes Talon doing sounds kind of eerily familiar. It sounds to him rather like the league of assassins, the ones who had given Oliver and them so much trouble. Felicity had said they were all about the assassinations and using their secret influence to carry out secret machinations, destabilize certain areas, cause uproar and chaos. The way Hana is describing Talon, it sounds like the groups might have some things in common.
Even as he's sewing, he scoffs and shakes his head just a little when she talks about the bad attitude of the Talon members towards her. ]
Seriously, though, why is it that villains are always so goddamn condescending? Is there some kind of pre-requisite? Mandatory course on how to be patronizing and creepy all at the same time?
[ Cisco finishes with the stitch to close the gap, twisting the suit leg so it's right side out to check at how it looks from the outside. He stretches the suit, twisting and pulling, seeing how the patch and stitches hold up under torque and strain. There are no gaps, and no signs of weakness in it. ]
And always so old, too. Ever notice that? Ten bucks says they act like that because you remind them how irrelevant they're getting.
I freakin forgot to hit post comment for two days?? I'm so sorry
OMG, I know!
You know, you're probably right? They're probably jealous about how young and full of life I am! [ Is that Hana running her fingers through her hair and tossing it with a flip? Yep. She calls herself a stylized version of the word "diva" for a reason. ] I mean, one of them literally walks around in like, grim reaper cosplay and calls himself Reaper, so.
no subject
Her comments about the dubious choices of one of the Talon members has Cisco scoffing loudly. ]
Oh my god, that is really pathetic. I mean... seriously? That's just trying way too hard. That's like, something you would think was cool and intimidating if you were fourteen years old, but you are telling me there is a grown-ass man who really thinks 'Reaper' is original? Yikes.
[ He knows that if this man is a terrorist he probably is an actual threat, but there's some value in tearing down the self-importance of men like that. In laughing at them. ]
Back in my world, the villains that gave themselves names were always the most batshit ones. Like this guy who called himself 'The Trickster' who wore just... the most ridiculous shit you can imagine and thought raining down a bunch of bombs on a playground full of kids was super funny. Total psycho.
[ Cisco turns his attention back to Hana's suit, glancing at the repaired patch to make sure that it is perfect, then looking over the rest of it for any other damage. There are a few smoke smudges that he quickly cleans before holding the whole thing up and pronouncing. ]
Ta da! Good as new.

1) Fixing her suit
2) Fun, witty banter
3) Shaped like a friend
4) Shitting on Talon
5) Shitting on Reaper
Hana has nothing to respond with but laughter, both at what he says of Reaper and then of this Trickster fellow, and it's really put her in such a good mood considering that she'd just stayed up almost all night rescuing people from a burning building and getting her leg injured in the process, so she's absolutely beaming and bright when he holds up her repaired suit. She all but leaps off of the couch and launches herself at him with her arms open so she can try to give him a big hug. Regardless, she says, ]
Oh, thank you, Cisco! You are honestly the best!
no subject
Happy to help.
[ He steps back a little, head ducked down, looking bashful and delighted and like he isn't even sure what to do with himself. Cisco's always been a sucker for appreciation and praise. It's absurdly obvious, how much it means to him just to be told thank you. There's something a little childlike and giddy in the way he tucks his hair behind his ears and shuffles his feet. ]
You got anywhere you need to rush off to? 'Cause... you know, the best way to heal is to rest up, and it looked like you and my couch were making pretty good friends, and I got a Ninetendo somewhere around here if you wanna play some Mario Kart...?
