"Hm? Well sure. It's a bit harder than doing it to yourself, especially if they don't want to be changed. How hard depends on will and experience at that point though."

Stephen tilted his head slightly in consideration, ears flopping with the motion.

"The food thing... I haven't actually tried. Mostly because the whole process of puking it up is miserable, and so far all signs point to 'no'. Like my logical mind knows that for example, pizza is good, that I liked it. But physically everything else is rebelling at the idea of putting it in my mouth. The smell, the look, the whole nine yards just works like if someone were to push my usual lunch your way and tell you to put that in your mouth." He let out a low grumble. "Hell, even thinking about it has my stomach lurching."

"I keep telling you, you need to get that shit fixed somehow," he grumbled, still scratching Stephen's ears. It was a topic that came up on a regular basis - mostly because Sam felt like he should be feeding Stephen, but he refused to touch (or contaminate his pots with) anything he was capable of eating. And with two Lokis here, something had to be possible.

"So could you turn me into a dog? Preferably a talking dog."

"Trust me when I say I'm definitely working on it." Don't mind if Stephen just is leaning further and further into that ear scratching because it's really nice and he's all for it right then.

"A dog should be no trouble, talking or not." And yes Sam it was safer to not cook the nightmare fuel because it's generally better just to toss any pans that touch it if they're not being kept specifically for Stephen's use.

"C'mon, then, do it." Although he didn't actually know if Stephen could do magic while he was a dog - but if he couldn't, then how would he turn back?

"But if I get stuck that way and have to ask Loki for help, I'm pissing on all your stuff," he added dryly. "Maybe as a dog, maybe not."

"Sure, why the hell not." He hefted himself back up on all four paws, head tilting as he considered Sam, with a vague hint of doggy grin. "Curious what sort of dog you'd wind up as anyways."

"You know I feel like I should reevaluate my life because that's not the first time someone's made that kind of threat..." Without preamble he hopped back down onto the ground, turning around to face Sam once he'd gotten a foot or so back. "But fuck it. This won't hurt, the spell's good like that, but it willitch like fuck fair warning."

And Sam's questions about how he might do magic? Answered when Stephen's tail started glowing green before it was being whipped in his direction. And true to his word, there was no pain, but when bones started shifting? It would indeed itch like hell. At least it would only take a few moments for the shift to happen once the magic takes hold.

A glowing tail? Sam opened his mouth to make fun of Stephen, but then the itching started. And Stephen was right; it did itch like hell. Sam lifted a hand to scratch, but it ended up being a paw before he even realized it. A very large paw. In fact, it was a good thing Stephen had jumped off the bench, because there wasn't much room left for him once Sam was done changing.

Sam lifted one large hind paw and scratched at his neck, sending his floppy ears flying for a moment. Then he craned his neck to look at himself. "You sure this is safe to use on other people? Cause it looks like it might have some giant side effects."

Clambering off the bench, he stood next to Stephen, looking down at the beagle. "Either that or you accidentally turned me into a small bear."

"You're... well not quite a bear. Seen people with those sorts of dogs around sometimes." He circled Sam to get a better look, more amused than anything at this point. And to make sure that everything had shifted as it should. Satisfied, he came back around.

"Newfoundlands? Supposed to be good for rescue work I heard. Like to drool." Not like that was new for big dogs, but that wouldn't stop Stephen from teasing.

Sam placed one massive paw on top of Stephen, half as a threat that he could sit on him. (He wouldn't really; he didn't want to smother him. Then he'd definitely have to get Loki to change him back.) "I'll drool on you," he huffed, then lowered his head and drew his tongue over Stephen's snout and head to make a point.

A very wet, messy point.

"Gotta say, the sense of smell is pretty amazing. Sight, not so much." There was a curious nudge in his mind as Jareth prodded at him through their bond, then a sense of exasperated disdain. The bird thought that if he was going to change shape, then he should get a set of proper wings.
