[ A Loki that fell to Earth is a Loki that still enjoying living. Earth gave him opportunities to step away from Thor's shadow and be his own person. True, he wasn't much of a prince or a god as he drifts among mere mortals without a blink of an eye, but it is preferable to the treatment of the Nine Realms. When he awoke, changed by the chalice, Loki was smart enough not to panic even as the doubts crept in. Instead, he devoted himself to the work. He weaved in and out of the Gramayre Institute, the Communal Housing and wanders around Riverview. His manner is polite if not a little distant. His clothes range towards more casual shirts and slacks, and his hair is much shorter.

You might also spot him sitting near the fountain, casting small illusions for the group of children nearby, of green dragons and golden heroes or at the market, eyeing their selection of jeweled daggers. ]

[ ii - can you feel the love tonight? ]

[ Loki can deflect magic and bullets with ease. His physical prowess is nothing to scoff at, despite his slighter frame. So when the repellent drifts over, Loki was certainly not prepared to fight the very air itself. By the time he realized what had happened, it was too late. He had inhaled it too sharply and felt his limbs loosen. The tension that's always hung over him like a heavy aura has all but dissipated and Loki is all twinkling smiles and calm demeanor. You might have bumped into him accidentally as he stands there and he turns, contrite. ]

[ With a flicker he vanishes, appearing at the gate of the city with a chuckle. ]

[Taako opens his mouth to say something, only to promptly shut it when Loki disappears.

Is that what it feels like when he does it to other people???

With a huff, he casts sending; Loki is about to get a message in his head.]

I'm out of spell slots to teleport! Don't be a dick!

[ He gets a low chuckle in reply with a tinge of confusion over what is a spell slot, people have that? lol ]

[Loki is officially The Worst, although secretly Taako is pleased that at least he seems to have lost some of the tension that this whole thing started with. Right now, though, he needs to focus on the problem at hand.

With a sigh, Taako takes one last swig of the vodka before setting it on the ground and transmuting the glass into sand, so that he's not like, littering. Then he casts polymorph, shifting himself to a giant wolf, picks up the umbra staff in his jaws, and starts running towards the city.

It's definitely not as speedy as teleportation, but on the plus side he can just find Loki by scent rather than casting another spell, so after a couple of minutes, wolf-shaped Taako lopes up towards Loki and growls at him, because Loki is a bitch.]

[ Huh. Loki raises an eyebrow, surveying the form with curiosity. He hasn't seen animal shapeshifting in a long time. ]

Not bad.

[spellslots]

[The downside to this is that he can't talk, while a wolf, though somehow he still manages to exude an aura of smugness at that very slight praise.

He pads closer under the guise of letting Loki take a better look, before dropping the umbra staff and making an attempt to lick Loki's face. Because revenge.]

[ Loki splutters, batting the wolf away, looking completely frazzled. ]

Do you mind.

[Wolves can't laugh, but Taako wags his tail in a good impression of an amused dog, before deciding that there's only so far he can push this, and changes back.]

That's what you get, sweetheart.

[ Loki wipes some of the slobber off, still looking a little lost before he manages to school his expression. ]

Shall we go?

[In a gesture of good will (and showing off) Taako casts prestidigitation to clean Loki off.]

You're the one who left me in the forest, I could've died.

[He doesn't sound worried.]

Nonsense. Who would risk trying to kill you?

[WAS THAT A COMPLIMENT?

He's delighted, there's probably even a skip in his step as he picks up the umbra staff and starts towards the closest seedy bar.]

There's a lot of monsters out there, some of them would be too stupid to know better, and I'm pretty fucking breakable.

[He might be powerful, but just. The worst AC and HP.]

[ Shh. He'll never admit it. Brushing some of his hair back, he considers this. ]

Hmm. I suppose I forget that. Breakable does not sum up my kind very well.

[ Loki has such a large variety of tools. Even his very touch can cut down the strongest of creatures. ]

I kinda got that impression.

[It doesn't really phase him one way or another, everyone's got their thing.]

It used to be a little harder to kill me, but I uh, gave up some of my life force to a couple of liches. You know how it is.

That seems like a bad idea. Also unsanitary.

[ Like. Why???

But Loki can't talk. His bad decisions are off the scale. ]

Ew, yuck, they didn't touch me.

[They're liches, not like, succubi.]

It was kinda that or getting trapped in their creepy suffering factory for ever so, I made a choice.

[ Oh. Well then. ]

The only choice one can make.

Liches are fucked up.

[He says this despite the fact his sister is one, but that's because Lup wasn't a lich long enough to lose herself. She could keep existing on love, unlike Edward and Lydia.]

So, you wanna go with a classic? The fiddle game is always fun, or we can just hustle some fools at pool.

[He doesn't have a fiddle on hand, but they can improvise.]

The fiddle game?

[ He holds his hands out as the illusion takes shape. He slots it against his neck easily, looking like a refined musician who stepped out of a concert hall rather than a poor or struggling artist. ]

Someone, looking a lot less nice than you look, heads to a bar with their fiddle, going on about how it's their only worldly possession and how much it means to them, et cetera, then "accidentally" leaves it behind. Person number two comes in and tells the mark how expensive that fiddle is, saying they'd buy it for 75,000 gold or whatever, but they have to run to an appointment and can't wait for the owner to return. They give the mark their number, asking them to pass it on to the fiddler.

[He's only done this one a few times, and it's worked about half those times, but it's good because there's nothing to lose except time.]

The trick is finding someone who's got money enough to spend, but not so much they aren't greedy, cause you want them to offer the fiddler say, twenty or thirty thousand gold for the fiddle. Way less than the mark thinks it's worth, but more than you actually paid for the thing. Eventually the fiddler is worn down and accepts the offer; you make off with the money, the mark makes off with a worthless instrument.

[ Pursing his lips, Loki cloaks himself in the illusion. His appearance is nigh recognizable, and he even tweaks the sound of his voice along with the scent. Grubby but not so destitute that people will wish to avoid him. ]

Well? Do I look pathetic enough?

[spellslots]

[Taako uses illusions occasionally, but he doesn't see them from the other side that often, so he's kind of impressed as he watches Loki change.]

You look shitty, for sure.

[It's sort of funny.

But he realizes he's not exactly dressed for this, so he gently reshifts the illusion he's already (always) wearing to including his shirt, sending it from the plaid it was to a cropped blazer, while the thigh high socks go from cotton to more traditional nylon (there's no real purpose to that part except he knows it'll be more distracting). It's hardly the businessman chic that this con usually works with, but he figures he can go for 'hot & eccentric rich asshole' easily enough.]

Oh, look. You can clean up nicely.

[ But there's no bite to it as Loki appraises the look. He lifts the violin. ]

Shall I perform?

[Taako sticks his tongue out, the picture of maturity, and spitefully adds garters to the stockings. Somehow this is Revenge.]
