[ A Loki that fell to Earth is a Loki that still enjoying living. Earth gave him opportunities to step away from Thor's shadow and be his own person. True, he wasn't much of a prince or a god as he drifts among mere mortals without a blink of an eye, but it is preferable to the treatment of the Nine Realms. When he awoke, changed by the chalice, Loki was smart enough not to panic even as the doubts crept in. Instead, he devoted himself to the work. He weaved in and out of the Gramayre Institute, the Communal Housing and wanders around Riverview. His manner is polite if not a little distant. His clothes range towards more casual shirts and slacks, and his hair is much shorter.

You might also spot him sitting near the fountain, casting small illusions for the group of children nearby, of green dragons and golden heroes or at the market, eyeing their selection of jeweled daggers. ]

[ ii - can you feel the love tonight? ]

[ Loki can deflect magic and bullets with ease. His physical prowess is nothing to scoff at, despite his slighter frame. So when the repellent drifts over, Loki was certainly not prepared to fight the very air itself. By the time he realized what had happened, it was too late. He had inhaled it too sharply and felt his limbs loosen. The tension that's always hung over him like a heavy aura has all but dissipated and Loki is all twinkling smiles and calm demeanor. You might have bumped into him accidentally as he stands there and he turns, contrite. ]

[ How ironic, that the chalice has made Loki more open to others, and made Angela more closed off and alone. Without ever having met Sera, she was cut off from all ties save her familial ones, severed as those may be. But she is not nið here. And there is her not-brother, Loki, showing off some magic for a group of children.

Angela wanders closer to watch, crossing her one arm over her body. ]

[ The children watch, enraptured as the hero and the monster team up against a greater darkness. The illusion spills colour and light, close enough for their tiny fingers to reach out and grasp. Loki glances at Angela, curiosity speaking through his gaze before he briefly turns to finish the story. The children gasp and laugh, before dispersing to looking for their parents.

Loki pats the space next to him with a faint grin. ]

It seems I have not lost my touch, despite leaving Asgard.

[ The illusions are a strange weave, because Romulus sees them and he sees through them, just a bit, and he's watching from a polite distance away but honestly he's enraptured. This is the magic Loki was speaking of before and he is more understanding about how such a thing could possibly be outside of his capability. Victor is a patient teacher, but he still has only touched upon the basics; even those seem incredibly complicated at first glance.

For now, he watches the same show as the children. He has a bag over his shoulder with the shopping he was doing but it can wait. He wants to see more of this. ]

[ Angela sits as instructed, watching as the children run off to their parents. How she would have loved the distraction of a magic show when she was their age. ]

You've never mentioned leaving Asgard before. [ Granted, there is so much she doesn't know about this version of her sometimes-brother. It's no surprise that bits of his story were left out. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ His illusions are his closest link to Asgard. And there are times Loki misses his home so much the ache never seems to subside. But it was not right for him to stay. Not when he knew his father made him a pawn, not when he is of jotun blood. Until he finds peace, he knows staying in Asgard would bring out the war in him.

The children seem pleased at least and Loki has attracted a crowd. He glances at the man watching curiously. ]

Is there something you wished to see?

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki chuckles. There's no edge to it, though it is polite and distant. ]

I am a little changed at the moment. I cannot speak for what I once was in this place.

[ He's smart enough to pick up the threads, to know what affects him. He's not so smart to look too deeply into the going ons of the person that lingered here before. Self-awareness is not his forte. ]

But I was cast out.

[aeturnus]

[ He startles a bit for being called out. There isn't much he knows of, certainly nothing as fantastic or intricate as Loki's show just now, but there is something he aches to see again. Something he hasn't seen since... before, really, before his memory generally can't be trusted and the reality of his thoughts are pulled into stark question.

There's something there. ]

Um... horses?

[ Not nearly as impressive, but perhaps just as majestic. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki waves flippantly as green-gold light spills from his fingers, forming a small group of horses, clustered together, snorting and tossing their heads. They look as real as any. ]

[hevenly]

As am I. [ She lifts the stump of her left arm, the most concrete evidence that she is not the same Angela who was here before. ]

Why were you cast out? [ Asked without consideration as to whether this might be a sensitive topic. ]

[aeturnus]

[ Romulus doesn't think about it so much when he gets closer now, walks near the herd without daring to reach out or touch. Just observe. It's heavily nostalgic for a past disappeared and he can't tear his eyes away. ]

I led frost giants into Asgard on a whim. A trick. I did not know the trick would lead to . . . [ He trails off. ] . . . uncomfortable revelations on Asgard's part. And mine.

Odin sent me to Earth to learn. I learned enough to stay away.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki shrugs. It lacks his usual alien grace and seems more . . . human. ]

Think nothing of it. A paltry sum on my part.

Why horses?

[aeturnus]

They're gorgeous, aren't they?

[ Beautiful creatures for sure, but... It's not really an answer, and Romulus knows better than to not answer. ] They remind me of—safety.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki hums thoughtfully. He hasn't seen his own steed in years. ]

I suppose they do represent a wild strength.

[aeturnus]

They're a great many things.

[ He'd wax poetic if he understood how, but it's all just jumbled up emotions without much avenue for escape. He seems rather content, though. ]

What of those things you made before?

[dothelokimotion]

[ He blinks, tilting his head. ]

Which things in particular?

[aeturnus]

The...

[ He frowns, brows furrowing in thought. ]

It was something like a lizard.

[dothelokimotion]

[ His expression clears up. ]

A dragon. Fire-breathing lizards of ancient lore. Very rare to see in person.

[aeturnus]

How do lizards breath fire? Do they also use magic?

[ Magic. Science. Biology. All kinda the same to him right now. ]

I suppose it depends on the dragon. Magic is in their blood, but I imagine science can explain the process more effectively.

[aeturnus]

They can be the same?

[ After talking with Tony, he just wasn't sure... ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki taps his chin. He's been among mortals long enough to have his own explanations ready but he still encounters confusion. ]

What cannot be explained is often a science that is beyond mortal grasp.

Which makes them... levels of the same thing?

[ That makes sense to him. There's just a lot he doesn't know in order to even form baseline understandings. ]

Yes. They are not so far apart.

[aeturnus]

Then it's possible to learn all of them.

[ It's said with a bit of wonder, because boy howdy would he like to learn all of the things someday. Pipe dreams are still dreams, and those are worth just having, aren't they? ]
