[ A Loki that fell to Earth is a Loki that still enjoying living. Earth gave him opportunities to step away from Thor's shadow and be his own person. True, he wasn't much of a prince or a god as he drifts among mere mortals without a blink of an eye, but it is preferable to the treatment of the Nine Realms. When he awoke, changed by the chalice, Loki was smart enough not to panic even as the doubts crept in. Instead, he devoted himself to the work. He weaved in and out of the Gramayre Institute, the Communal Housing and wanders around Riverview. His manner is polite if not a little distant. His clothes range towards more casual shirts and slacks, and his hair is much shorter.

You might also spot him sitting near the fountain, casting small illusions for the group of children nearby, of green dragons and golden heroes or at the market, eyeing their selection of jeweled daggers. ]

[ ii - can you feel the love tonight? ]

[ Loki can deflect magic and bullets with ease. His physical prowess is nothing to scoff at, despite his slighter frame. So when the repellent drifts over, Loki was certainly not prepared to fight the very air itself. By the time he realized what had happened, it was too late. He had inhaled it too sharply and felt his limbs loosen. The tension that's always hung over him like a heavy aura has all but dissipated and Loki is all twinkling smiles and calm demeanor. You might have bumped into him accidentally as he stands there and he turns, contrite. ]

[ With a flick of his fingers, a case appears and Loki carefully puts the artificial fiddle inside, closing it with a click. ]

[Loki is not Lup, no one is Lup, but that doesn't mean Taako can't let himself enjoy the nostalgia that comes from this, as he and Loki get to work.

When it comes to actually important shit, Taako is terrible at acting, but if he's just playing a role for a stupid con, it's easy to fall into a role and do whatever to sell it. A lot of this falls on Loki, anyway, who carries it well, selling the starving artist thing enough that Taako is confident their chosen mark has fallen for it.

The whole thing takes a little under an hour, until Taako is waiting outside the bar for Loki to wrap things up, grinning in anticipation when the door swings open and the poor starving artist walks out sans fiddle.]

[ Loki holds up a hefty cloth bag, jingling with the movement. His smile has a wolfish edge. Loki doesn't care for money and he hasn't lost the edge of privilege he was born with, but he enjoys the hunt and the prestige, the entertainment of a good trick. ]

[ He casually tosses the bag to Taako. ]

[He catches the bag easily, flicking through the cash to give it a quick count, something that he and Lup practiced a lot when they were pulling these kind of cons themselves.]

[ His expression softens slightly. ]

[Taako grins, but it's less shit-eating and more genuine, glad that he achieved what he set out to achieve.]

Now you know who to call if you need to have a good time.

[For once, he didn't actually mean that to sound the way it did.]

[ He chuckles, a low rich sound. ]

I certainly will not forget.

[He really likes Loki's laugh, which is just. he's just going to shut that thought right the fuck down.]

So what's next? Do we start a fucking quest to get you drunk?

[ He pushes his hair back, even as a few black strands rebel. ]

Alas, nothing in this place is quite so potent.

[ And Loki left his Asgardian brew with Steve. With a click of his tongue, he conjures up the violin once more. ]

You never know, there's a lot of shit that comes through the portals.

[Maybe something super potent has come through.]

If you wanna play, though, I can shut up for at least a couple minutes. Probably.

Unless they plan to make drunks of us all, I doubt they'll provide us with that much alcohol.

[ Loki strikes up a tune easily enough. His feet tap against the ground in rhythm. Music has never been his calling, but Loki has always possessed a fondness for the arts. ]

[If he'd tried to predict how this night would go, it certainly wouldn't have involved any of this, especially not listening to Loki play the fiddle as a post-hustle celebration.

But it's nice, and something tells Taako that Loki might not get nice all that often, so he's just going to make sure they enjoy the rest of the night. It can't be that hard.]
