[ A Loki that fell to Earth is a Loki that still enjoying living. Earth gave him opportunities to step away from Thor's shadow and be his own person. True, he wasn't much of a prince or a god as he drifts among mere mortals without a blink of an eye, but it is preferable to the treatment of the Nine Realms. When he awoke, changed by the chalice, Loki was smart enough not to panic even as the doubts crept in. Instead, he devoted himself to the work. He weaved in and out of the Gramayre Institute, the Communal Housing and wanders around Riverview. His manner is polite if not a little distant. His clothes range towards more casual shirts and slacks, and his hair is much shorter.

You might also spot him sitting near the fountain, casting small illusions for the group of children nearby, of green dragons and golden heroes or at the market, eyeing their selection of jeweled daggers. ]

[ ii - can you feel the love tonight? ]

[ Loki can deflect magic and bullets with ease. His physical prowess is nothing to scoff at, despite his slighter frame. So when the repellent drifts over, Loki was certainly not prepared to fight the very air itself. By the time he realized what had happened, it was too late. He had inhaled it too sharply and felt his limbs loosen. The tension that's always hung over him like a heavy aura has all but dissipated and Loki is all twinkling smiles and calm demeanor. You might have bumped into him accidentally as he stands there and he turns, contrite. ]

[ Loki feels oddly self-conscious. He's never been the center of attention, unless it's negative and as such, he can't help squirming just a little. Still his demeanor is not wary. ]

[Some people seem to remember more than others, so he hadn't really thought about it too much, but the fact that Loki doesn't know him isn't the worst thing that's happened.

Mostly because he has to believe this will all go back to normal soon.]

[ He tilts his head, a little surprised. He decides to voice that. ]

Not Thor's friend? I've never been particularly . . . amicable to most.

[It takes him a second, because while he hasn't personally met Thor, the dude was at Bryn's party and well, at Bryn's the morning after, so that makes him memorable.]

The big guy? Nah, I don't even know him, and you're totally fine. [Taaako grins.] Amicable is overrated, anyway.

[ He relaxes, answering with a smaller, almost shy smile of his own. ]

I agree, but I find myself in the minority.

[ Politely, Loki gestures to Taako. ]

You are an elf and mage. That is impressive. Most elves I have met briefly seem disinclined towards the craft.

[He doesn't know if he's ever been called impressive before, at least not by someone who wasn't a) a fan or b) trying to get into his pants.]

Different worlds, my fella, elves aren't too bad at the whole magic schtick back home, although I am, of course, way better than most.

[He's so full of it.]

[ Being full of it is a very Asgardian trait. However, boasting about magic is still very new to Loki, who has always been told that magic is one of the weaker arts. Not meant for any deserving warrior. Even though Earth has taught him differently, it's hard to shake the lessons of the past. ]

What is your world like then, pray tell.

I will absolutely do that for you, but I was on my way to like, eat so you're gonna have to join me if you want all the hot goss.

[Clearly that's the only solution to this minor pickle they've found themselves in, mostly because Taako likes Loki's company, even if this is a different (earlier? he seems a little softer) version of him.]

[ He blinks before nodding politely. ]

Why not? It is company well spent.

[Everyone is so nice here and seems to genuinely enjoy his company, it's weird.]

[Well then, Taako gives a thoughtful hum, weighing up their options for about thirty seconds, before he seems to reach a conclusion, clapping his hands together as he does.]

Tapas it is, way more socially acceptable to get fucked up on wine if you're eating at a tapas bar.

[ Somewhat. Tony had invited them to tapas once, after a battle. Loki had partaken in it and left once it dissolved into drunken revelry. ]

Cool cool cool. We're this way. [He nearly offers his arm, to be a Proper Gentleman, before deciding better of it, since this Loki barely knows him.

There's a grand sweeping gesture in the direction of the bar, instead, before Taako starts walking again.] So, I'm a little bit of a weird case, on the whole 'what's your world like' question. Mostly cause it got super fucking destroyed.

["Eaten" is more accurate, but harder to explain.]

[ Loki blinks. Destroyed? Only the Bifrost could manage that. ]

I did not think that was possible.

There's this real powerful... entity? Force? It's like some kinda fucked up conglomeration of an entire world, but it's just real mad about people existing so it fucks with everyone else's world.

[ Loki chuckles softly. It's not mocking, but there is a shade of knowledgethat colours the tone. ]

I hear that is a common ailment among monsters.

[spellslots]

[The tone of it doesn't really bother Taako, making jokes and finding ways to laugh about the shit they were going through was a very important coping mechanism.]

No shit, it's like, why can't some all powerful horror-terror just wanna take a nap and chill out on the beach or something? It's always gotta be destroying the world.

[ He shrugs. ]

They are never very creative either.

I gotta disagree on that one, the shit the Hunger pulls is beyond anything I've ever seen before.

[Eating people and planes and then like... turning them into soldiers for it's own uses is fucking wild.]

How so?

[ He has no interest in destroying anything, but power . . . power should be understood. ]

It... [He pauses, waving his hands through the air to try to encompass the whole idea of what the Hunger is.] It doesn't just destroy, it consumes, pulling the bonds of a reality into itself to make it stronger. Nothing should be able to do that.

[And yet it does.]

Then it negates reality. An anti-thesis of creation.

[ It sounds . . . like the Aether. But Loki keeps that to himself. ]

Something like that, yeah.

[Taako is briefly distracted by the fact they've arrived at the bar, but once they've done the "getting seated and ordering wine" dance, he picks the thread back up:]

A lot of our info came from the big bad itself, so we never knew how much to trust, you know? But we could see what it did.

[ Loki nods in understanding. ]

Second hand knowledge from the enemy makes it hard to tell what is real and what isn't. But I do not think they are all natural-born liars.
