[ A Loki that fell to Earth is a Loki that still enjoying living. Earth gave him opportunities to step away from Thor's shadow and be his own person. True, he wasn't much of a prince or a god as he drifts among mere mortals without a blink of an eye, but it is preferable to the treatment of the Nine Realms. When he awoke, changed by the chalice, Loki was smart enough not to panic even as the doubts crept in. Instead, he devoted himself to the work. He weaved in and out of the Gramayre Institute, the Communal Housing and wanders around Riverview. His manner is polite if not a little distant. His clothes range towards more casual shirts and slacks, and his hair is much shorter.

You might also spot him sitting near the fountain, casting small illusions for the group of children nearby, of green dragons and golden heroes or at the market, eyeing their selection of jeweled daggers. ]

[ ii - can you feel the love tonight? ]

[ Loki can deflect magic and bullets with ease. His physical prowess is nothing to scoff at, despite his slighter frame. So when the repellent drifts over, Loki was certainly not prepared to fight the very air itself. By the time he realized what had happened, it was too late. He had inhaled it too sharply and felt his limbs loosen. The tension that's always hung over him like a heavy aura has all but dissipated and Loki is all twinkling smiles and calm demeanor. You might have bumped into him accidentally as he stands there and he turns, contrite. ]

[ Romulus just kind of pauses, thinking that over. ]

Do you think that we should come to know everything?

I don't see why we shouldn't try.

[ Granted, knowledge hasn't given Loki any favors. His birthright hangs heavily on him, even now. ]

People say it can be dangerous.

I... think it would be amazing.

[dothelokimotion]

Everything comes with its dangers and wonders. Does that mean we should not try at all?

[aeturnus]

No. It would be difficult being there first, though.

[dothelokimotion]

Why is that?

[aeturnus]

Being alone? [ He shakes his head. ] That's incredibly hard.

[ Romulus hasn't been alone once in his entire life, not until this, and it's terrifying. It would paralyze him if he didn't need to take care of himself so he doesn't leave Remus alone, either. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Is it? Leaving Asgard had been easy, in a way. Even though it felt like a fever dream. He missed his mother. He missed Thor. He missed the familiarity, but deep down, it wasn't worth the cost of his soul.

If creatures like him could have one. ]

It depends on the person.

Oh... you might be right.

[ Romulus hasn't thought of that before because putting himself in the shoes of another isn't actually something he's thought to do. He hasn't wanted to, no matter the conditions he's lived in. ]

I've always had my brother... so I don't think I could do it without him.

[ Loki shrugs loosely. ]

Things change. Even millennia-old bonds allow for it.

[ Going quiet, Romulus considers that. Glances up to Loki to try and read the expression there. ]

Perhaps. Even so... would it be worth it to learn everything and still not have anyone?

[dothelokimotion]

[ He chuckles. ]

It might be. There is security in knowledge as there is security in family. Would you choose ignorance over loyalty?

[aeturnus]

[ He bites his lip, eyes narrowing partway in confusion. ]

I'm afraid I don't understand.

[dothelokimotion]

Everything is a choice and has consequences. The pursuit of knowledge. The safety of kinship. You cannot always have both.

[aeturnus]

I think... I would like to work for both and use what I've learned to decide then.

[dothelokimotion]

Greed is the ultimate vice, I heard. Only second to pride.

[aeturnus]

Ah... [ He ducks his head at that, as if censured no matter Loki's actual tone. ] Yes, that is pretty greedy, isn't it?

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki shrugs. His ambition, at turns, burns at him. But it's a small burn, to be kept silent. ]

To some, yes. Most likely. It is a fine line to decide what you need and what you choose to acquire.

[aeturnus]

That sounds like something you would need to learn.

[ All of it comes back to Romulus being acutely aware how little he actually knows. Seeing all this in front of him and the gap it would take crossing for him to understand it. ]

[dothelokimotion]

Everything is learned. Nothing comes easily.

[ Unless you're Thor. ]

[aeturnus]

I know that much.

[ He looks around, the space where all of Loki's illusions have been so far. ]

What... What do you like to see? When you make these?
