In the days leading up to June 1st, residents new and old will notice preparations beginning, a flurry of activity getting the city ready for the upcoming celebration: Prijata. Riverview Quarantine has a strong culture of love, and they celebrate all types - Prijata is a special celebration of platonic love and building community through friendship. Prijata traditions include gift exchanges between friends, sharing meals cooked together by friend groups, and a variety of events and services aimed at making friends.

Prijata is a relatively relaxed holiday, focused mainly on friendship and platonic love - dedicated to appreciating the friends already in one's life, and opening oneself up to making new friends. Besides the private giving of gifts between friends, there is also a city-wide government-sponsored gift fountain that is open throughout the entire month. Included in the wide variety of events catered to finding new friends, are 'speed friending' and a large open exhibition where all the specialized clubs in Riverview can recruit for new members - and residents new or old can create a club and recruit.

i. gift fountain

While Prijata gift exchanges between friends are generally a quiet affair, done at friend-group dinners or parties, the element of gift giving does extend outward - community-wide, in fact. Throughout the course of the month, anyone living in Riverview Quarantine can drop by the huge fountain in the City Center, in front of the City Hall. They will find that the fountain is chock full of floating gift boxes in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and different shapes - though none larger than a shoe box. There are signs put up around the fountain stating that the boxes are magic and will only seek and open for their rightful owners. Characters will find that, upon touching the water, a box will float over to them, and when they pick it up, the top will unfurl like flower petals, displaying the gift inside. Sometimes, the box won't appear on the first try, since there's only so much space in the fountain at any given time, but if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Every person in the city (including new arrivals) will receive one gift by the end of the month.

Gift fountain boxes will contain one small item from each character's home dimension (or, for CRAUs, from their previous game), similar to the "items from home" bonus reward, but without needing to spend points. The item should be small enough to fit in a shoebox, sentimental, and cannot be something intended for another person's character. If you can't think of an item like this that would work for your character, something of similar size and quality to what's described above that would make the character very happy can be substituted.

This prompt can also be used for gift exchanges and for characters to receive the Government-given gifts that were suggested in the Prijata Pregaming post on the meme community. Any newly apped character is welcome to post on the meme entry as soon as they're accepted, and will be linked to it in this month's acceptance notification, so to all you pre-existing players please keep looking at the Prijata Pregame meme throughout app week and afterward to help give new arrivals a warm friendly welcome!

ii. speed-friending

This is pretty much what it says on the tin! Much like speed-dating setups, many bars, coffee shops, and other places that people might gather are holding speed-friending! It's your standard setup - characters enter and fill out a quick questionnaire about themselves, and flit from table to table looking for someone with great friend chemistry. Not all of them are general and open to anyone who walks in, though, with many being specialized to people who are invested in certain hobbies, occupations, or with specific sets of interests. With specialized speed-friending setups ranging from horror movie buffs to members of the Perimeter Guard to fashionistas to sports or martial arts to video games, no matter what your character is into, they're likely to be able to sign up for a special event where they can go looking for a friend who's into the same things they are!

For this prompt, you can put up a list of hobbies or interests your character has, and compatible characters can hit them up for a speed-friending thread, like the IC equivalent of the CR meme!

iii. club exhibition

Speed-friending is all well and good, but not everyone is outgoing or open enough to know if they have friend chemistry in only a few minutes. For anyone looking to find groups of like-minded individuals they can spend more than a few minutes with before committing to something as daunting as a friendship, there is a month-long club exhibition happening in the Town Square in the City Center. Table after table and booth after booth are occupied by existing clubs in the city, with an incredibly broad scope of focus interests and hobbies - enough that any character should be able to find a club with their niche interest represented.

And if it isn't? Characters are welcome to start their own clubs - much like a business, a character-run club can have space set aside in the city for meetings and event mingles that are eligible for Activity Point Bonuses for the organizer.

iv. amusement park & waterfight

Remember the Amusement Park that citizens of the city were working together to clean up and power up a couple of months ago? Well, the endeavor has proven to be a success, and after a lot of hard work and technical expertise, the amusement park is up and running! For the first two weeks of June, admission will be free to honor those who helped make the park usable.

Sporting just about any amusement park ride you can think of, from kiddie rides, merry-go-rounds, and ferris wheels to high-speed roller coasters and more extreme rides for the thrill-seekers, the park takes it a step further by adding in a lot of different high-tech attractions not available at conventional amusement parks. It has banks and banks of VR simulators that allow park-goers to enjoy a variety of adventures and scenarios, or join shared mutual worlds with other users to explore or take out their aggression with a VR first-person shooter. There are also rows and rows of typical carnival games, some heavily rigged and some not, with prizes ranging from dollar store trinkets to stuffed animals to bits of advanced tech.

For the month of grand opening, though, the amusement park is offering a couple interesting events - a naming contest for the park, and a park-wide water fight.

The water fight is opt-in, with participants signing up and being given a purple or orange flag, tank top, or cap to wear marking them as to which team they're part of. There are buckets of water balloons around the park that are constantly being refilled by staff, and water fighters can participate in special target practice games to win the use of a watergun for the duration of the day - how big your watergun is depends on how well you do in the game! Ultimately, there aren't any real winners or losers, because the point is to get wet in the brand new summer heat, but it's always more fun to cool off with a bit of competition involved, right?

The naming contest is another story. Anyone who visits the park is welcome to think up a name for the park, and all entries will be listed on a large LED board. Every customer who enters the park is invited to vote for their favorite name, and the name with the most votes wins! To submit either an in-character suggestion or a suggestion from yourself as a player, hit up the thread below with a new top-level; whether or not you have a neat idea, place a vote for your favorite! Votes are one per player; suggestions are one per character.

i. gift fountain

[ Wally feels like a little kid on Christmas morning when a box appears out of the fountain and makes it's way towards him. He loved the gift the fountain bestowed upon him the last time, a photo of him and his friends from their Teen Titans days, and is ready to cherish whatever piece of home is hidden inside this time.

Though he has to admit he wasn't expecting the gift to be a simple piece of paper that has been folded so it fit inside the box.

He's perplexed at first, but after a quick unfolding, it is revealed the gift is actually a drawing of the Flash he made when he was about ten. You can tell it's his by the way his name is messily scrawled at the bottom right of the page.

He can't be entirely sure, having drawn hundreds of such pictures back then, but he believes this drawing is the one he was working on when his parents told him he'd be staying with his Aunt Iris in Central City for the summer. That summer changed his life for the better in ways he never could have imagined.

A soft chuckle eventually escapes his lips, before he turns to the person closest to him, and proudly holds up the drawing for them to see. ]

ii. speed-friending

[ It dawns on Wally that he has officially been in the Quarantine for a year when he discovers the coffee shop he frequents is once again holding their general speed-friending event for Prijata. He remembers stumbling in shortly after he arrived on this strange moon looking for a cup of joe and practically being forced to sign up if he wanted it.

He figures it's only fitting to take part again in some sort of celebration of his one-year anniversary. And, well, he really wants his late morning coffee.

So with a cup of coffee in hand and an inviting smile gracing his lips, he finds himself perfectly at ease as he sits at the designated table after filling out the appropriate information such as his name and a list of incredibly generic interests (food, movies, running, exploring) for the questionnaire. Hey, he never claimed to be the most interesting of people. ]

iv. waterfight

[ Team Orange finds themselves acquiring the services of a super speedster in this battle for water balloon supremacy. But in the spirit of fair play, Wally chooses to go about it all normal-like assuming those he goes up against abide by the same code.

That means relying more on stealthily sneaking up on members of the opposing team rather than a straightforward assault. It's a tactic that makes him an easy target as he is terrible at being all stealthy.

Of course, he is willing to forgo his no powers philosophy should he happen to come across those he knows in an attempt to avoid their attacks. There's really no sense in having these fancy powers of his if he can't showoff against his friends and talk shit while he does it. ]

[ Jyushimatsu had been wandering through the coffee shop in search of someone who shares at least one of his interests. He could have kept sitting at his table, but he got assailed by a sense of restlessness that eventually drove him to get up and move around. Staying still for more than half a hour is not his style. Not a Jyushimatsu thing to do.

His round eyes catch the word running and he immediately bolts towards the table he's read it from, before even looking at the guy sitting there. That was quick. ]

Hello I'm Jyushimatsu!

[ He loudly flops onto the chair across the guy and tries to assume a polite posture, his long sleeved hands planted on his knees. But it's hard when his entire being is literally vibrating in place. ]

I like running! I run a lot everyday!

[ Wally can normally relate to the sense of restlessness that comes with sitting still for a period of time, but in a rare occurrence, he doesn't feel the need to rush on this day. That doesn't mean his mind doesn't drift off to think about everything that has happened over the past year and what the future may hold while he is sitting alone.

Being so caught up in his thoughts is why he nearly knocks over his coffee, a few droplets manage to spill over the edge of the cup onto the table before he steadies it with a hand, when Jyushimatsu suddenly arrives at his table. Or, maybe not so suddenly if he had been paying attention.

Wally does his best to pretend he wasn't startled, simply nodding along as the other man introduces himself before claiming the empty seat across from him. This guy certainly seems to be the enthusiastic sort given the way he seems to be practically bouncing in his chair. ]

That makes two of us. Running is actually a pretty big part of my job.

[ He extends a hand over the table for Jyushimatsu to shake. ]

It's nice to meet you, Jyushimatsu. I'm Wally. Though you might already know that.

Hi Wally! Hello! Hi! Nice to meet you too! Hello!

[ He returns the handshake, although he doesn't bother pulling up his sleeve. His hold is also pretty strong, considering he never really shook hands with people before, being japanese and all. In fact, he afterwards bows deeply at the other... almost slamming his forehead onto the table. ]

Thank you for having me! [ His smile stretches even further. ] You said running is part of your job? What do you mean?

[ Wally has to bring his cup up to his lips for a quick sip in an attempt to hide the amused smile that wants to form in response to Jyushimatsu's energy. It's like the guy sitting across from him is a really big kid. Not that he can say anything because he has been accused of that a time or two before. ]

Part of my job is helping people when the run into trouble outside the wall. There's a lot of monsters out there so it happens pretty often. It helps for us to be quick on our feet.

[ He pauses, as a slow grin spreads across his face. ]

I also happen to be quicker than most since I'm a speedster.

[ Wow, okay, that actually sounds cool? Jyushimatsu stares at Wally in awe, vibrating even more in his seat. Maybe he shouldn't have drank those four cups of coffee earlier. ]

I heard about the monsters, but you can run over there no problem? You're really brave!

[ He brings a large sleeve in front of his mouth. ]

How fast can you run, even? Like a car?

[ Wally shakes his head a little in response to the compliment the other man tossed his way. Despite his tendency to showboat, he has never really thought of himself as being brave or worthy of such awe. At least not like his mentor Barry Allen. ]

I wouldn't say that I'm brave. I just like to help people. The paycheck is a nice little bonus, though.

[ It was his Aunt Iris that instilled the desire to help people in him long before his career as a costumed hero started. ]

I'm a little faster than a car. [ A lot faster if he's being honest. ] But what about you? You said you run a lot?

Sounds like you really are fast!

[ That's still impressive on its own - Jyushimatsu beams at him and curls his sleeves over his chest, fists pumping. Cars are already fast, but if you're faster than a car itself then... wow! ]

Yeah! I run and swim and climb and also jump off tall places sometimes! I love doing physical stuff in general, but running is always the top choice!

[ Wally idly wonders if Jyushimatsu would explode on the spot if he told him just how fast he really was. ]

Sounds like you get plenty of exercise.

[ He's always been partial to physical activities over lying around himself. ]

Do you play any sports?

[ Ohhhh yes, yes, very good, he can talk about THAT now. He's gonna talk about the THING... ]

I LOVE BASEBALL!!!

[ He doesn't physically explode, but his voice definitely does. The exclamation points can be felt through his speech. Do you know how much he freaking loves baseball, Wally? Now you will. ]

I play baseball everyday, I hit so many balls and score thousands homeruns! Baseball makes me the happiest thing ever!

[ Wally sinks down a bit into his chair as Jyushimatsu's excited outburst has everyone else in the coffee shop looking in their direction. Not knowing what else to do, he offers them a sheepish smile and gives a little wave before they turn their attention back to whatever it was they were doing previously just as Jyushimatsu stops speaking. ]

So you really love baseball.

[ He gets the feeling that might be the understatement of the century. ]

Y'know, you could probably gather up enough people to have a softball game around here. I mean, there were a lot of people that took part in the big soccer match a while back.

[ Oops. It's too bad he's not paying attention to his surroundings. Not that he can do much about it since he's so damn excited to be here with someone to share his baseball loving with. ]

If you could have soccer, then we sure as hell need baseball in this place!

[ Holy shit he's so pumped for this. ]

If I form a team I'm gonna be captain and mascot! Cheering my teammates on while leading them to destroy our opponents! [ This is not a war, calm down... ]

[ Wally quirks an amused eyebrow at the excitable young man sitting across from him. ]

Are you sure you'd be able to do both? Most mascots I've seen wear costumes or something like that.

[ At this point he's just not caring about looking composed anymore, swinging his legs back and forth. ]

I can totally do both! The costume I'm wearing for mascot work is a bit [ read: a lot ] cluttery, but I can pull that out no problem!

If only I could get my Yakyuuman costume back, though... it'd be even more fun to defeat [ read: kill ] our opponents!

You work as a mascot?

[ That actually doesn't surprise Wally at all. It seems like a perfect line of employment for someone who has an abundance of energy and enthusiasm like Jyushimatsu appears to have. They've only been talking for a few minutes, and the guy is already swinging his legs back and forth like he wants to move. ]

I didn't even know we had gigs like that around here.

Hehehe! I don't think a baseball stadium existed before I was sent to work there!

[ He's like, the only one working there, unexpectedly. ]

The team I support is Riverview Rams! I'm not sure there are other teams though, like, is there even a place other than Riverview that has opponent teams? The competition seems a bit lacking!

[ Give them something to ~~kill~~ defeat dammit. ]

Yeah, the Quarantine does seem like a one baseball team city. Plus, it's a pretty long road trip for other teams.

[ Wally played a little when he was a kid and remembers having fun while he did. He's never been a big fan of actually watching a baseball game though; it just moves too slow for him. But if Jyushimatsu ever tries to pull double duty, he will make sure to get a front row seat for that. ]

I still say your best bet is putting together a slow-pitch softball game. It's a little different from regular baseball, but all the core aspects are there. You could even use the network to get people to join. And I'd be happy to help you set it up.

[ Jyushimatsu covers his mouth with a sleeve and lets out a long, long hum, indicating that he's thinking about the option Wally made available. He's not thinking too hard, though, that would be dangerous considering what kind of guy he is, but then he snaps back to reality as his smile grows back and he nods excitedly. ]

Okay okay okay! I'm not sure I can do anything alone and I don't know how softball works so I'll need your assistance Wally!

[ Wally takes another sip of his coffee, before he gives a little half-shrug of a shoulder. ]

It's really not that different. The ball is a little bigger, the outfield fences are usually a little closer so the field isn't quite as big, and the bases aren't quite as far apart. The pitcher also pitches the ball underhand. But other than that, it's the same. Hit the ball, catch the ball, and run in-between.

[ He thinks it should be easy enough to procure what they need in terms of equipment. He actually bought a softball from a thrift shop awhile back, a few aluminum bats shouldn't be hard to find, and then there's the matter of wrangling up enough baseball gloves for everyone which may be a little more difficult. But it should be doable. ]

It may not be quite what you want, but I think everyone could have some fun. We might even have room in one of the parks for the game if we can't find an actual field to use.

[ Ueeeeeeh, that's so much... Jyushimatsu already has a hard time understanding the Actual Rules of baseball. But at least he gets the very basic gist of everything that is being explained to him. Softball doesn't sound very awesome, but he'll take what he can get. ]

Got it! So we don't need a big baseball field to play!

[ He nods in understanding. Really, as long as he's got a couple teams to work with then they're cool. ]

There's the stadium I work at, but I guess we won't get in unless we go through some complex form of bureaucracy? I think that's what it's called!

[ All Jyushimatsu needs to worry about is recruiting players for a potential game. That shouldn't be too hard given his rather infectious energy. Wally can take care of actually running the game itself. Besides, there has to be at least a few more people around here who are familiar with the rules of softball. ]

Does anyone even use the stadium outside of practice? [ He assumes no if there isn't games being played. ] If not, then we might be able to work something out. I'd even be willing to patch up the field afterward for free.

[ He thinks about it for a total of three seconds. Sorry, he can only afford so much. ]

I don't think so! Besides, there are no matches if there are no other teams...

[ The idea of playing his first match in the stadium is super lovely and he's now instantly supporting it 100%! ]

Okay, I hope that works! Later I might check the network out to see if people are interested!

[ But then he'll probably forget about doing that because he'a scatterbrained fool. ]

Then it sounds like a plan.

[ Whether Jyushimatsu will follow through or not, Wally doesn't know. But he does plan on trying to keep his end of the deal if he does. ]

We're going to need around at least sixteen other people for two teams. I know it seems like a lot, but the Quarantine is a pretty big place.

If there are so many people here, then we're sure gonna find sixteen brave souls willing to play base--... softball!

[ Trying not to mix the two words together is going to be a Handful for this guy.

He smiles brightly at Wally. ]

I'm glad I met you, Wally! Hoping so hard to make this bas... softball thing a reality! And you should show me how fast you run sometime!

[ Wally can't help but match Jyushimatsu's smile. The guy might be a little strange, but there is just something about his upbeat attitude. ]

Yeah, sure, no problem. Though you really won't get to see anything unless you want a ride.

[ He isn't so much as actually offering him a ride sometime as he is implying he's really fast. But he could probably manage to give him a lift piggyback style as long as there's a promise of no puking involved. ]

And I'm glad I met you too, Jyushimatsu.
