In the days leading up to March 1st, residents new and old will notice preparations beginning, a flurry of activity getting the city ready for the upcoming celebration: Sampremi. This is one of Riverview's four yearly celebrations of love, this one focused on sexual love and lust, and sexual relationships that might bloom into more (or not). Traditions associated with Sampremi are a roving street market, raves where residents can seek out some free love and get a little crazy, a massive week-long kink convention, and a tech expo with all-ages and adult options.

a celebration of sexual love and lust

Riverview has always been a place focused on love and building connections in order to foster community, and for a lot of people, sex is part of that, which makes it something worth celebrating! For people who use sex as a way to connect with others, even if only for a short time, or those who use it as a way to connect on a deeper level with the ones they already love, Sampremi is the perfect holiday to get their freak on in a host of new and exciting or comfortable and familiar ways. The holiday features a large kink convention, where various entities in the city can show off their toys, explain their niche kinks, and share their insights with anyone who might be interested, a series of raves that are both all-ages and adult where residents can find someone(s) to share a night (or a week, a few months, or even a life) with. This year, there is a large tech expo where cutting edge tech companies in the city are sharing their newest toys, like improved virtual reality, robotics advances, and many other types of toys - all for work, play, or, in the spirit of the holiday, pleasure. And for those who don't want to connect through sex or who aren't old enough to, there are dances, games, and an entire market full of street food that's meant for sharing, so they can connect in other ways.

i. color raves

Advertised on flyers and digital screens around the city, made to pop as if they were under blacklight, is a series of what's called "color raves" that are happening in various large empty warehouse spaces around the city. They are called color raves for the bright colorful lights, the preponderance of glowsticks that attendees wave around, and for the brightly colored powder for attendees to play with, some of which is spiked with a mild party drug and some of which is just for fun (with the difference clearly marked, of course). There are three types of color rave - adult, all-ages, and youth raves.

(CW: DRUG USE) At each adult rave and all-ages rave there is one specific room where attendees can enter (after proving themselves 18+), and dance or play tag with brightly colored powder that contains small amounts of a legal party drug commonly available in Riverview, which is absorbed through the skin. Not much more intoxicating than having a few beers, the effects of the drug are a pleasant low-key buzzing euphoria, positive sensitivity to touch, a heightening of desires for intimacy, and a mild lowering of inhibitions. Once a character has been hit with the powder, the color lingers on the skin so other attendees can know who has partaken, but once the powder makes contact with a surface (whether it is skin, clothing, or structural) it deactivates, meaning that partakers can safely dance with non-partakers without sharing the intoxicating effects.

Adult raves will have bouncers at the door to ensure that anyone entering is 18+, and there is no limit to when and where the debauchery happens. Clothing is optional, showing skin is encouraged, and there are a lot of neatly tucked away spaces for attendees to get some time alone with one or more than one person, as well as spaces intended for orgies. The atmosphere is sex-positive and non-judgemental, open to any orientation or preference, with various forms of protection available for free, however, to ensure that everyone plays safe there are sober security teams out en masse at all premises to oversee the events.

All-ages raves are open to anyone who wishes to attend, regardless of age. There are bouncers at the door who will check ID and stamp the hand of anyone who is 18+ with a special ink that shows up under blacklight for easy identification. At all-ages raves, 18+ and underage characters can mingle, but there are specific areas set aside for only 18+ characters where they can get down and dirty either in private or the open.

Adult and all-ages raves will have only spiked powder to avoid confusion.

Youth raves are intended only for younger characters under 18, so they can stay up all night and dance like crazy, and meet other young people in the city. The legal drinking age in Riverview Quarantine is 14, and so anyone over 14 can enter and indulge in a few drinks, dancing, and playing tag with a version of the colored powder featured at the adult raves that won't give you anything but a sugar high. There is copious amounts of security on site to ensure that everyone is safe, as well as nurses and off-duty police officers to offer advice or care for anyone who overindulges out of lack of experience. Youth raves will have only sugar powder, brightly colored and sweet to the taste, meant for fun and to play tag with rather than to cause intoxication.

ii. kink convention

For the week of March 4-10 there will be a massive kink convention on the top floor of one of the large exhibition centers downtown, limited to characters 18+. The exhibition is a sexy adult informational convention featuring various kinks and fetishes. Whether you're into leather, latex, lace, or anything else, you'll be able to find the clothes, toys, guides, books, erotica, fiction, and a wide variety of other interesting stuff to explore. While the atmosphere is sex-positive and there are private and public (for the voyeurs and exhibitionists in the room) venues for having sex, it's definitely focused on exploration and information about different stuff to try.

If someone has thought of it and figured it sounded sexy, it can be found here, and with Riverview's high level of tech advancement and widespread acceptance of magic, things can get pretty kinky. Whatever your kink is, there's probably a VR program, sex toy, potion, or spell that can make it happen, and someone who's got the downlow on how to make it great.

iii. tech expo

Riverview prides itself on its technological advancement, and so, running concurrently with the Kink Convention on March 4-10 and on the bottom floor of the same convention center, various cutting-edge tech companies in the city will be sponsoring a Tech Expo. The expo features demonstrations of all of the most advanced technology that's coming into use in the city, ranging from advancements in VR and holotech to robotics and gadgets, you can find the latest and greatest in almost any area of modern technology. Attendees will be able to come with a friend or a date or anything in between to play VR games, enjoy holoprojected escape rooms and puzzles, meet robot pets, try out the most recent music player or that new cell phone that can bend without breaking, and a wide variety of other gadgets.

While most of the tech expo is all-ages and non-sexual, there is a decently-sized adult area where characters must show ID proving they are 18+ in order to enter, where the technology is mostly related to sexual use. This area features advanced sex toys, VR systems intended to explore sex with other people in a virtual environment with no strings attached, sexy video games and holoprograms, and many other sensual technological.

iv. street market

One of the major draws of the festival is the special street food that can only be obtained this time of year. Almost everything you can buy at the Sampremi Festival is meant to be shared - whether it's one piece of meat on two or more sticks or desserts baked with a narrow part in the middle for convenient tearing, everything is built to be shared. The stalls sell everything from cups of soup, sandwiches, roasted or fried meat, deep-fried vegetables and cakes, dumplings, donuts, bagels, turnovers, and anything else you can think of.

Many of the savory dishes are based on the meat of a particular fowl native to the moon Riverview is situated on that has a taste and texture halfway between chicken and duck, cooked to be spicy (ranging from very mild to throat-burning). Many of the desserts are based around a fruit native to the moon that is spherical, red-orange, and has a light sweet taste that is similar to a combination of mango, pineapple, and strawberry. Both ingredients are considered to be aphrodisiacs. Of course, the foods aren't actually aphrodisiacs and any effect is purely placebo, though there are some booths (clearly marked and with someone to check ID) that sell actual aphrodisiac-laced foods and drinks to people who are 18+.

The festival features an entire row of fair games ranging from very high-tech games featuring virtual reality and neon holograms to extremely old-fashioned games with darts and balloons or balls and glasses. The games all have prizes in various shapes and sizes, with the standard stuffed animals, but also with goods and special items donated by any business in the city; ranging from tiny prizes to huge and expensive ones. Due to the nature of the holiday, many of the stalls are set up to cater to winning a prize for your partner(s), and due to the nature of the Quarantine, a lot of them involve aiming or other aspects of pretending to fight.

Originally, the part of the street festival that involved an actual market, with stalls and booths set up with goods, was aimed primarily at romantic trinkets like flowers or jewelry, gifts intended to be purchased for a loved one. As time has gone by, however, this aspect of the market has increased, with many businesses participating, though the emphasis is still on small businesses and anything relating to local culture rather than booths for any of the larger more corporate businesses. There is still plenty of jewelry to be found, for sure, mostly handmade and artisan, but the scope of the Market has widened immeasurably. The Sampremi Market is an excellent place to find specialty foods, clothing, jewelry, art, or other goods that were originally native to cultures on other planets in this reality, or other realities altogether. Many residents in the city use the market to share their unique cultural goods and traditional dress with others.

[Eddie loves to dance, but on alternating nights of the festival, he's not at the parties to dance - he's here in a semi-official capacity, volunteering on his nights off at the raves to help out anyone who might need it. While he spends a lot of his time at the youth and all-ages raves because he has a particular interest in making sure the young people in the city are safe, he also spends some time at the adult raves, staying sober and keeping an eye on anyone who seems to be in a vulnerable way.

If your character, young or old, is having a rough time at any of the parties, if they're out of their depth, sick, hurt, or in need of protection, Eddie's your guy. Calm and gentle and non-judgemental, he's ready and willing to step in and offer assistance.]

Instead he just appears next to the man, leaning casually against the wall and lighting his umpteenth cigarette of the night. He's already gotten tagged with a few colored handprints, a few of which are on his crotch and butt. Figures.]

On good boy duty tonight, huh? [His tone's even, not teasing but also not completely genuine.] Wanna dance? Doubt anyone'll get killed while your back's turned.

[Eddie may notice that Dodger has undergone a significant appearance change... most notably being the fact that his left arm and his right ear are horribly scarred and warped. But hey, fair trade for having both of his eyes intact these days.]

[It's not the greeting he would've expected from Dodger, who seems to not have much concern for personal space, or propriety, or consent, and with whom he has a distinct...history. Not that Eddie minds, because he'd rather not be groped against his will, or grabbed and ground on. In fact, a puff of cigarette smoke and a lack of personal space is one of the better ways he could think of for a reintroduction between himself and Dodger to happen.

Rolling his eyes, he huffs out a breath.]

Yes, I'm on duty tonight. Well, I'm volunteering.

[His back is tense, so is his brow. The change in Dodger's appearance is noted, and Eddie wonders, for a moment, if all of that is because of the fight in the Communal Housing hallway, and feels a stab of guilt. He'd done his best to save Dodger from what he could, in fact, that had been how his powers emerged, but still...Eddie never really feels happy or okay with someone being hurt. Even someone like Dodger.]

I actually don't think there's anyone here I'd rather dance with less than you. And like you said, here on business, not pleasure.

[He cracks a teasing grin at that. Damn, if this doesn't feel simple and friendly compared to the shitshow his life has turned into lately.]

Loosen up, I won't bite. I'm on a whole zen kick - live and let live, that sorta thing.

[Which is just about the least believable thing Dodger could tell him, so he isn't expecting him to take it seriously. Though, he didn't have any good reason to talk to him, so he's quiet for a moment before thinking of anything.]

You didn't get a dog recently, did you? Been seeing this husky around, doesn't look like a stray but I never see him around his owners.

[As soon as Dodger says that, Eddie wrinkles his nose, his cheeks going a bit pink in a combination of embarrassment at the verbal misstep and irritation at what Dodger is implying by that.]

[It's a bit wry, but Eddie's noticing there's something a bit different about Dodger. Like he's less pointedly trying to pick a fight and more like he's trying to connect in a sort of casual way. It's weird, honestly. Especially when Dodger mentions the dog.]

A zen kick? You? Really? You must've really hit the powder.

[A pause, and then.]

Nah. I would love a dog, but I don't have the time to exercise one like I'd have to, you know? Especially a husky. How's your dog?

[It's....cautiously friendly?]

More like some certain asshole on the perimeter guard decided to skin me. [He holds out his left hand, showing the warped and battered skin off that still manages to have his tattoos mostly intact. If illegible.] And I figured hey, maybe if I wasn't such a piece of shit this wouldn't happen every fortnight.

[A startling revelation, he knows.]

Hell, you can take my dog off my hands if you want. Doesn't need exercise, just a charging station. Might be better for him to not get broken every time he tries to defend me from our lovely justice system.

[ Genji is doing much the same as Eddie, albeit in a slightly less than official capacity. He knows all too well what kind of nefarious people can take advantage of these kind of situations (considering he used to be a criminal himself,) so he tends to use his potentially threatening appearance to his advantage. It's amazing what a face covered in scars, metal and a well timed glare can do to diffuse a situation.

After cutting his way through the crowd, he makes his way over to an area he hasn't looked over yet. Doing so, he notices a familiar face off in the distance. Was that...? Ah yes! Eddie, right? Cisco's boyfriend? They had only met the one time, during the memory sharing fiasco...

He figures he should at least greet him and re-introduce himself. He looks different than he had in the dream, since he's not covered by his battle armor. Genji approaches him with a smile and a two fingered salute. ]

Yo! You are Eddie Thawne, correct? I believe this is the first time we have met outside of a dream.

[ Genji pauses and makes a face, brows furrowing. He taps at his chin. ]

That came out like more of a 'line' than I intended, apologies. My name is Genji Shimada, I am friends with Cisco.

[causational]

[While he's been doing his rounds, Eddie's noticed the guy - he's interesting looking, attractive in a strange way, and familiar at the same time, somehow. He'd stood out enough that, at first, Eddie had actually kept an eye on him, watched him until he'd seen him stepping in between a guy getting a little too handsy with his dancing partner in a way that hadn't been cute. After that, Eddie had relaxed, considered the guy as being in his corner, and hadn't paid him much mind.

At least until he comes over, smiling and saluting him like they've met. For a moment, Eddie stares at him, brows a little furrowed, feeling a moment of panic and guilt over not knowing his name when the other man obviously knows his.

But then he comments the thing about a dream and makes a joke about it being a line, mentions Cisco, and Eddie relaxes. Laughing softly, he shakes his head, eyes bright and cheeks a little pink, belying his momentary embarrassment.]

Yeah, Eddie Thawne. And wow, it's been a while. You look different!

[Holding his hand out for a shake, Eddie keeps grinning warmly.]

I think he's mentioned you before. How's it going?

[ Genji didn't exactly expect him to immediately remember, so he doesn't think much about that furrowed brow. He just smiles, it making the scars on his face pull tight.

He accepts the hand and gives it a shake, the silicone in his palms nice and warm. ]

I am sorry for not meeting you in person sooner! There has just been so much going on as of late. [ He chuckles and adjusts the knit beanie atop his head. ] Ah yes, I do not tend to go out covered in body armor. Sometimes I forget not everybody has seen my face.

[ Genji moves to stand next to him, body language casual and open. ]

Yes, he has mentioned you to me as well. I've been giving him tips on meditation and such, but he has become a good friend.

[causational]

[Eddie watches as the man smiles at him, his scarred face crinkling up. It's a good smile, he thinks, and can't help but get the impression that Genji is a good man from it. Shaking his hand, Eddie exhales and nods at Genji's explanation.]

Tell me about it. It's been a seriously crazy few months, hasn't it?

[Laughing a little, he shakes his head after a moment.]

I'm glad I got to see it. Easier to recognize than the body armor, that's for sure.

[When Genji mentions that he gives Cisco tips on meditation, Eddie's brows raise. He's a little surprised, because he's sure Cisco has mentioned that in passing, but he's never really heard the details.]

Meditating, huh? I've never tried it.

It has indeed. I can't believe I've almost been here a year.

[ Genji is glad to hear the laugh. For the most part people are kind here, but one never knows... but he doesn't think Cisco would be dating someone who was unpleasant.

Genji chuckles himself. ]

Faces always are. It's quite nice to only have to wear it when I need to. [ There's an implication that this is something relatively new for Genji, that he had to before in his world. Well, there's a reason in the subconscious of his dream he was covered head to toe. ]

It's not for everyone. I mean, if you had told me ten years ago I would be in the habit of it I would have laughed.

[ Strange, how a handful of months could change so much. The last time the kink expo had happened in the Quarantine, Cisco had recently realized he had a crush on Eddie, and he'd been doing everything in his power to deny, ignore, and suppress it. They'd run into one another, and the whole thing had been charged and awkward and had left Cisco a complete diaster of guilt and infatuation.

Now, the two of them are walking towards the convention center, holding hands, Cisco chatting away as he reminds Eddie of what had happened the last time. The details had been burned into his own memory much more indelibly, because of that hidden crush, because he'd been so self-conscious of every single moment, and movement, and thing that was said. ]

You kept asking what I thought about stuff, and talking about your chest hair, and how you weren't sure whether or not you'd enjoy bondage. I wanted to die, Eddie. I wanted the ground to swallow me whole.

[causational]

[It's funny, because Eddie remembers everything that Cisco is talking about, but it's the first time he's looking at it with the retroactive knowledge that Cisco had a crush on him at the time. While Cisco talks, holding his hand as they stroll into the kink expo, he flushes pink listening to the things he'd talked about, completely unaware of how much of an idiot he'd been being.]

Oh man, how embarrassing. You must've thought I was a total ass.

[Eddie's grinning as he looks at Cisco, and digs out his ID as they head toward the door - thankfully they both look over 18, so it's only a perfunctory glance from the bouncer before they're heading into the center.

And he can't help it, he has to ask.]

So what were you thinking?

Are you kidding? Of course not!

[ He tucks his idea away, pulling Eddie closer as he does so he can cling close to his arm, rest his head against Eddie's shoulder as they stroll. The expo isn't too crowded, yet, but Cisco knows it will be bustling in another hour or so. He's glad they got here while it was still relatively quiet. ]

I was just paranoid that I'd do something to give myself away, and then everything would be awkward forever. You weren't acting like an ass, you were acting like- like an ordinary guy, and I was just trying really hard not to be a total creep.

[ Eddie had still been taken, and besides, it had felt like a betrayal of Eddie's trust as his friend, to walk around with him pretending he wasn't thinking about and imagining stuff he definitely shouldn't have been. Cisco gives a short sigh; a little of the remembered anxiety from that last time has somehow wormed its way into him. He tries consciously to relax. This time, there's nothing to worry about. He and Eddie are together, and things are good. Better than he had ever dreamed they could be. ]

Do you mean what was I thinking, back then? You want me to draw you a diagram?

[ But it's the sort of joke that Cisco tells in order to avoid answering, when the truth is a bit embarrassing. His face heating, he speaks again, voice lowering so Eddie definitely will be the only one who hears him. ]

Well, apart from worrying about making sure I wasn't giving myself away, I pretty much was wondering what you'd be like in bed. What you would end up liking. What it would be like to... you know. Experiment with some of this stuff, with you. Open your eyes to it. Kind of make sure you were safe and didn't push yourself too hard or whatever. Look after you, you know.

[ It's stupid for him to be blushing this hard, but it's a potent memory, and there had been a lot of embarrassment attached to those thoughts. ]

There was a lot of denial mixed in there, and annoyance at myself for falling for someone unavailable and super out of my league. But mostly it was all so unknown, you know? I was just- I'd never been with you, so all I could do was imagine, and be curious. I didn't have any idea... what you were into. But I started to get an idea, and a lot of it was, um. Stuff I liked too.

[causational]

Talking about my chest hair, though? Man.

[He shakes his head, laughing, and then goes quiet for a moment, still amused, before carrying on.]

Now that I think about it, I still feel like my chest hair means I shouldn't wear an open shirt...

[Another headshake, and then he glances over at Cisco while his boyfriend makes a silly joke, and then gets it together to explain what he had been thinking. That he was wondering what Eddie would be like in bed, what he would like, what it would be like to experiment with him and look after him. Ducking his head, Eddie smiles softly.]

To look after me and make sure I was safe while I explored some kinks? You know, that sounds like a lot of fun. And that...actually still sounds like something we could do. I know we've done quite a few things together but...we can definitely find some stuff here that we haven't tried yet.

[A beat, while Cisco blushes deeper and then explains how he'd been feeling, annoyed at himself, in denial, curious and imagining what Eddie would be into. Learning a few things and liking the sound of them.]

Okay, first off, I am absolutely not out of your league. There are no leagues. You're an amazing guy, and I'm lucky to have you. Okay?

[Squeezing Cisco's hand in his, he smirks a bit as he looks around.]

Secondly, I was totally checking your ass out then, and maybe thinking about what you'd be like in bed and what you were into too. Which was even worse, because I was in a relationship at the time. So...you know, don't feel bad.

And I think you are gravely mistaken on that one, babe. If you've got it, flaunt it.

[ Eddie has come a long way from his fairly conservative upbringing, but he's still quite traditional in the way he dresses from day to day. But Cisco makes the decision, right that that moment, to buy him something mildly slutty he can encourage him to wear. As a liberatory exercise, obviously. ]

If you haven't noticed, people here aren't as obsessed with every guy needing to wax or whatever.

[ And he nods at a gaggle of people congregated near the entrance, two of whom do, indeed, have quite a lot of body hair on display.

It is gratifying, when Eddie says that he'd noticed Cisco's body the first time they'd been to one of these things, that despite everything he'd been a little interested, a little curious. Cisco can't help but giggle, nodding his agreement when Eddie says there are no such thing as leagues. Some of that remembered tension loosens in his chest; the past is the past. They're together now, and here together, and that's what is important.

When Eddie mentions that they should keep their eye out for some new things to explore together, Cisco is beaming before he can even finish the sentence. ]

I mean, yeah. What do you think we're here for? You see anything that looks even a lil' bit interesting, you tell me, and we can do some investigating. Sound good? And... I promise I'll do the same. Even if it's embarrassing. Deal?

[Eddie's probably going to have to intervene very shortly as someone comes up to tell him of a fight at one of the all-ages raves. It's Ivar who's causing a ruckus, of course it is, but he has very good reasons in his own mind for having knocked a man's feet out from under him and then whacking him with the crutch he's using to help him walk. As Eddie comes up, he'll be able to hear the fury in the Viking's voice as he looms over the man, leg braces helping to keep him steady.]

--And the next time you want to call me a cripple, go right ahead and see what happens!

[Then the poor man gets smacked in the stomach with the bottom end of the crutch again. Still, it could be worse. Ivar could have run him through with a sword.]

[As soon as someone comes up to him with a report of a fight, Eddie's on his way, brows furrowed in concern as he goes over, ready to break up a fight. And honestly, he's not surprised when it's Ivar at the center of it, whacking a guy who's already down with a crutch, shouting angrily.

Sighing a little, Eddie puts on a gentle voice, his expression softening.]

I think he gets it, Ivar.

[Carefully, aware that Ivar's rage might turn on him at any moment, Eddie steps between Ivar and the fallen man, offering him a slight smile.]

Hey, it's been a while.

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar's getting ready to whack the man with crutch again, this time in the head, so it's a good thing Eddie steps in when he does. Ivar looks up to see who it is that is daring to interfere with his fight. Well, it would be the do-gooder cop, wouldn't it?

Ivar still has a scowl on his face and very much looks like he'd like to go right on beating the man with his crutch until he was black and blue. But he respects Eddie enough to not try and get at his fallen opponent again, even with his temper still flared up.]

It has. Especially for me. [What with being gone for two years and all. It's astounding how fast Ivar goes from rage and fury into casual conversation.] So are you patrolling the raves tonight?

[Honestly, it's a bit of a relief when Ivar opts not to keep beating on the man on the ground with the crutch, instead turning to talk to him while the man on the ground crawls away from the two of them. Eddie raises a brow, and when Ivar says it's especially been a while for him, he makes a considering noise in his throat.

Reaching out, he rests a hand on Ivar's shoulder, squeezing a little.]

Yeah? Want to grab a beer, tell me about it? I'm off the clock, just keeping an eye out to make sure everyone's safe.

[....which apparently means calling Ivar off of his fellow partygoers...]

Alright. I'd like that.

[Just like a switch being flipped, the worst of Ivar's temper has fizzled out, leaving him relatively stable. He limps over to the bar with Eddie, leaning quite heavily on the crutch. He's been in his leg braces for several hours and the toll is starting to wear him down.

He grabs the beer with his free hand and clinks it amiably against Eddie's.]

I ended up going home for a long time. A lot happened, including me being made king.

[He sounds very proud of that fact.]

ii. dancing the night away

[This is more Freya's speed: pulsing bodies, thundering beats and weird multicolored themes. She isn't interested in having sex with random people but Freya loves feeling free and swaying to the tune of a song. Clubs will always hold a special place in her heart.

It's also a place where she can make anyone dance and it doesn't have to be weird.

For a change, she is dressed for the event, wearing a galaxy themed skirt with a black top and a pair of wild boots that raise her to the amazing height of 5' 3". A few of her tattoo's are visible though in the dark lighting the only one that stands out is the tree on her left shoulder blade.

She spots Eddie and bounces over to his side.]

Hey! Want to dance?

[Platonically of course.]

[This is the part of the holidays in Riverview that Eddie loves - the music, the bright lights, but most importantly the dancing. He doesn't really care who he's dancing with or if he's dancing alone, but the movement feels amazing, the energy of the music pulsing through him, the exercise done in a way that's not just lifting things or running. Dancing is one of the few artistic things Eddie's even halfway decent at, and it's a great way to get some of that tension out, some of the stress.

So when the girl comes up and asks him if he wants to dance, Eddie just laughs and nods, holds a hand out to lead her further onto the floor. He doesn't bother to ask her name, just starts swaying to the music with her, still grinning.]

[Freya loves dancing and moving. She's never had formal classic but she's skilled at freestyle pop-&-lock type of music that mixes with the standard shaking and figure-eighting of the hips. She's comfortable and while she holds Eddie's hand and occasionally uses him to spin herself, she's respectful to her dance partners.

It's all about having fun and being free to move with the music.

She is surprised that Eddie is doing more than the standard white boy dance and will happily cheer him on.]

[Dancing is one of Eddie's favourite things, one of the few ways he can express himself. None of his moves are particularly educated - he's taken lessons, of course, when he was a teenager, at his mother's insistence, but that was ballroom dancing, waltzes and the foxtrot. This is something else, something that comes naturally to him, just following the rhythm of the music, swaying his hips and laughing, pleased at the way she dances.

It's nice, when she cheers him on in return, and he laughs again, shaking his head, cheeks flushing as she compliments him.]

Wanna grab a drink after this song?

[He shouts it over the music, eyes bright. She's fun, and he's curious about her name and where she's from. Sharing a drink is a great way to get to know someone.]
