January/Arrival Log [Open]
who: Tim + You
what: Getting settled, mapping/exploring the city, meeting people at the community center, shopping for clothes, potential paintball/catchall log.
when: January, after the Glow Ball
where: Mostly around and about the inner city. May branch out for wildcards.
warnings: None at this time!
Action or Prose, both are fine, just lemme know which!
I. Mapping the City
A. Tim balanced on the balls of his feet as he looked over the city, perched on the edge of a rooftop covered in leafy vines. It's night, but it feels brighter here than it ever was back home. It had to be the big blue orb in the sky, or maybe just how much greener it was. No fog or smog to hide in. Nobody much but birds up here, too, and the occasional apartment resident smoking below. He kind of wonders if any of them are fliers. Hopefully not.
B. Once he has a good idea what the height is like, it's time to explore downward. Tim will be wandering around, all suited up. He may be riding on top of the sky tram, investigating the nooks and crannies of the business and residential districts, and/or on his way out to the abandoned city area.
II. Community Youth What?
Tim's first day of the job mainly consists of checking around the government building and finding a spot. He's not really sure where everything is yet; and can be found checking out the other offices and figuring out if there's any secret rooms or people to run into.
[Closed to Tony Stark (MCU)]: A helpful person does point him towards where the Community Head is, though, so he makes his way to the workshop of one Mr.Stark, knocking on the door.
III. Shopping for Clothes
Tim is in dire need of something other than his uniform, a fancy suit, and one t-shirt to wear.
He can be found wandering the shopping district or in the mall. His first stop is the secondhand shops for any hidden gems, but he does need a suit that isn't embroidered, so he'll be browsing the upper mid-end shops for formal wear.
A. Tim sifted through a pile of clothes, coming up with some serviceable plain tops and a couple of pairs of pants that wouldn't fall off his hips. Loaded up, he might not see anyone in front of him over his armful of clothes.
B. It was almost refreshing not having salesclerks fawn over a Wayne. That being said, it made shopping harder. He didn't technically need a nice suit for what work he's planning to do, but it was always nice to be prepared with a good one. Tim window-shopped as he thought about what would work best, pondering the merits of a three-peice over a business casual look.
IV. Wild Card!

"Hey," he greeted cheerfully. "Kinda late for a jog, isn't it?"
no subject
"Or early." That was a poor attempt at a joke. Steve aborted it quickly. "I guess I just couldn't sleep. Don't tell me you were just stargazing?"
no subject
"Nah, just getting to know the city. It helps me not be a Robin egg-splat on a building." He waved a hand towards the cityscape below. "Have to say, I'm used to things being a lot less greener when I'm up this high." It made finding a good solid anchor a little trickier, but at least the foot and hand holds were easier.
There's something to be said about a greener city, though. "Brings a whole new meaning to concrete jungle."
no subject
"It's a different city, that's for sure. It reminds me of some small towns I've seen. They have a lot of festivals. Things are just calmer here. It takes some getting used to."
For him at least. Steve was used to more dangers than the local wildlife or a few odd spells. Sometimes it was unnerving how quiet things felt.
"I like the green. Makes it relaxing."

"Hi? Can I help you?"

"Just a wild guess, but you wouldn't happen to be him, would you?"
no subject
"Tony will do. What can I do for you?"
no subject
"Do you have a little time to talk?"

"Wait, boss? You're in R&D?"

III. B.
She stepped up beside him, sharp eyes looking at the jacket that he was eyeing. Willa already knew it's retail price, she'd been trained to be able to estimate someone's income just by looking at them.
"You got something against jeans and a t-shirt?"

"Question for you. When would you need to wear a suit?" She had gotten a job at a bar but she wasn't planning to adhere to any dress code. It just wasn't her thing. Of course, having a job really wasn't her thing but that's what Riverview seemed to be about, new beginnings.
Willa leaned on the rack behind him, looking like she was eyeing up the blazer and not his pockets.

"Job interview; work," Tim shrugged. "I'm not really clear on the requirements, yet." How formal was a community ambassador in what amounted to a frontier space?
no subject
"Oh? I was given my job." Her head canted curiously to the side. "What is it that you're interviewing for?"

EYE BEE.
Which is why she was swinging through the city, taking a new route for a change - if she kept taking the same routes and the same time, people would know when to expect her and plan out their evils accordingly, right? ... let's be real though, aside for that one incident, it's pretty darn quiet most of the time.
So whens he saw someone riding on top of the sky tram, of course she had to say hello~, swinging above the tram and getting her yoyo to unwrap from where she'd anchored it, landing not as gracefully as she would have liked - a short distance from him. She had to take a second to get her balance back, but the red and black spotted heroine gave him a wary smile when she did, "You know, most people ride the tram inside the cars - what happened, no ticket?" She chirped lightly, teasing.

"So, let me guess: your code name's 'Ladybug'?"
no subject
As he guessed her codename, she laughed, "What tipped you off? Was it the spots, or has my reputation preceded me?"
no subject
"I was hoping it wasn't 'Lady Spots'." He'd have felt really bad for you, then. "But you've got your theme down, that's for sure."
no subject
She tucked her yoyo into its pouch, resting her hand on her hips, making a face, "Lady Spots? Really glad you didn't start with that one." She wrinkles her nose. Ugh, bad bad pick. "Hehe, thanks." She eyed him expectantly, "Well, what about you?"

There's also the fact that he's very obviously sneaking around with the intent of breaking in to some building or another. Probably not the greatest idea when he's barely been here a week, but he's confident that just makes him a less likely suspect. Then again, that confidence is why he's so surprised to come face-to-face with someone else who's somewhere he probably shouldn't be. Katsura is a quick thinker, at least, so without hesitation, he--
"Good evening." --lifts his hand in a wave like he's supposed to be here, and like Tim will be the weird one if he behaves otherwise. "The whether tonight is superb, isn't it?"
no subject
"Uh," he stalled. Was that... was that a ninja costume? Did people who weren't in a cult still wear those outside Halloween? Not that he looked nearly as violent as any of the Al Ghul ninjas in his brief acquaintance. Somewhere in the back of his head, he could hear Mrs.Mac scolding him for his poor manners.
"'Evening. Nice night for a little light sneaking." He tilted his head questioningly. He couldn't think of a whole lot of reasons people'd be skulking around in the dark, himself included. But he hadn't even heard this guy until he was right in front of him.
no subject
... Is the sort of conclusion you couldn't make with a rational mind. Naturally, then, it's the exact conclusion that Katsura leaps to. It helps (depending on how you define help) that, as far as he's concerned, Tim just made a perfectly astute observation. It is a great night for sneaking.
"You're right! The cloud cover, the time of night, even the temperature... they're all ideal for covert operations." Katsura nods to himself, satisfied with his conclusion... but he hasn't missed the unspoken question in Tim's gesture, either. Katsura pauses, considering his options, and promptly decides he can just say it. "I hadn't realized this building was already staked out for the evening, however. I hope poaching can be forgiven if it's just due to a mistake."
no subject
"I'm just here to check out the rooftop coverage- force of habit from my old job. Still," he paused. "I don't think they're keeping anything down here that would interest a good citizen outside office hours; especially a ninja."
no subject
Fortunately, he's not psychic and can't comment on that particular thought. His cheery expression fades a little when Tim makes his comment about ninjas, however.
"I'm not a ninja, I'm Katsura." He crosses his arms. "And isn't the duty of a good citizen to ensure their government isn't engaging in any shady behavior?"
