January/Arrival Log [Open]
who: Tim + You
what: Getting settled, mapping/exploring the city, meeting people at the community center, shopping for clothes, potential paintball/catchall log.
when: January, after the Glow Ball
where: Mostly around and about the inner city. May branch out for wildcards.
warnings: None at this time!
Action or Prose, both are fine, just lemme know which!
I. Mapping the City
A. Tim balanced on the balls of his feet as he looked over the city, perched on the edge of a rooftop covered in leafy vines. It's night, but it feels brighter here than it ever was back home. It had to be the big blue orb in the sky, or maybe just how much greener it was. No fog or smog to hide in. Nobody much but birds up here, too, and the occasional apartment resident smoking below. He kind of wonders if any of them are fliers. Hopefully not.
B. Once he has a good idea what the height is like, it's time to explore downward. Tim will be wandering around, all suited up. He may be riding on top of the sky tram, investigating the nooks and crannies of the business and residential districts, and/or on his way out to the abandoned city area.
II. Community Youth What?
Tim's first day of the job mainly consists of checking around the government building and finding a spot. He's not really sure where everything is yet; and can be found checking out the other offices and figuring out if there's any secret rooms or people to run into.
[Closed to Tony Stark (MCU)]: A helpful person does point him towards where the Community Head is, though, so he makes his way to the workshop of one Mr.Stark, knocking on the door.
III. Shopping for Clothes
Tim is in dire need of something other than his uniform, a fancy suit, and one t-shirt to wear.
He can be found wandering the shopping district or in the mall. His first stop is the secondhand shops for any hidden gems, but he does need a suit that isn't embroidered, so he'll be browsing the upper mid-end shops for formal wear.
A. Tim sifted through a pile of clothes, coming up with some serviceable plain tops and a couple of pairs of pants that wouldn't fall off his hips. Loaded up, he might not see anyone in front of him over his armful of clothes.
B. It was almost refreshing not having salesclerks fawn over a Wayne. That being said, it made shopping harder. He didn't technically need a nice suit for what work he's planning to do, but it was always nice to be prepared with a good one. Tim window-shopped as he thought about what would work best, pondering the merits of a three-peice over a business casual look.
IV. Wild Card!

IV. Wild Card!

"Is this your patrol route?" He was kinda new here, he should've expected more territorial backlash.
no subject
She did look surprised at the question though, and she scratched her head, "No, I just felt like changing things up a little. I pretty much go wherever, whenever." She doesn't get this whole 'This is my territory don't patrol here' thing.

"Where I come from, heroes usually stake out certain places- make sure we're not doubling up, you know?" Every major city had at least one guardian. He was pretty sure Bruce's no-meta policy was a convenient excuse to just keep other heroes out of Gotham. But that was Gotham. And Gotham chewed up heroes who didn't know it. "This place, though... it's really peaceful. Not even a mugging all night."
no subject
"They...really?" She narrowed her eyes, puzzled, "Why? What's wrong with doubling up? I would think the more help you get in an area the better - I mean. You're only one person." Even back home she has a partner.
"There was a murder a week or more ago, but.. yeah, for the most part it's pretty quiet."
no subject
"A murder? That's... probably the same one I heard about. Two of them, actually. It looked like something from home, too. But they say there's been no activity since."
"Must be all the perimeter guards doing such a good job out there. And the population size."
no subject
Well maybe it works! She shouldn't judge. "Two? I only heard about the one.. outside the Community Housing building." She folded her arms slightly. "If there's been no activity since that's good - that means the person responsible might have been caught." But they're keeping it hush hush or maybe she missed the report .. hrm. "Or he or she fled through the portal somehow when he was going to be caught.."
no subject
"They could've just gotten sucked in. It seems like there isn't really any warning," Tim offered. "Or they could just be waiting for the heat to cool off." That kind of obsessed violence, though... It wasn't the kind of thing where the murderer would be able to control himself for too long. They'd wanted to be noticed, somehow.
no subject
"That..that's true. And honestly, i'm not sure which is better - if they were sucked back to their own world, then that means people -here- are safe, but not so much the people in their world. Unless they have competent cops or superheros and vigilantes."
no subject
"Most places do." It was kind of depressing to think of a place so forsaken as to not have any. Then again, wasn't that what Bludhaven used to be? "It'd be one thing if we could figure out how to get to them, much less who they were. If they ever come back around here, though, we'll take care of it."
no subject
"I think it'd be a mistake if they did come back here - there's so many of us here now, and there's the Perimeter Guard too. When we coordinate, there's no way they'd succeed."
no subject
"That's true. Any of your garden-variety villains would be pretty hard-pressed. But I hear there are walking gods around here- and that must mean there are ones who might not be so peaceful." Tim mulled it over a bit, thinking.

He looked up as the tram passed through a particularly greeny overhang. "Back home-- in my world, there were... beings that we could barely stop, even with a team of our best heroes."
"If they can get there, then they could get here." He paused. "Not that I'm saying it's likely, given how peaceful this place is- maybe getting here on purpose is just as hard as getting out." It was food for thought, anyway. "Still, none of us lived this long by not being prepared."
no subject
"So far we haven't run into anyone like that back home. The most problematic of our villains is only still on the run because we haven't found him yet." She's also aware they haven't really had any clues on where he would be. "Thtat's true anyway. In any case, I shouldn't take up much more of your time. You've got things covered here, right?" She had an appointment to get to in an hour- can't be late!
no subject
"Sure. I'll see you around, Ladybug."
