As it so happens, she was looking at one of the ensembles that had been making use of a hat she had made recently.

Hearing someone addressing her, Marinette glanced over at the other and smiled back, just as friendly, "Yeah, I've been checking out some of their stuff lately. Some of it's a little expensive, but that's kind of what you expect with material like the sort they use."

She doesn't mention anything about having mad the hat though. She's no braggart. She does offer a hand though, "I'm Marinette."

Draco gave a nod. The usual retort was right there. To talk down on the girl like she was a moron. It never left his lips, though. It stayed within. He was quiet a moment longer before he actually spoke. The normal retort gone, and in its place logic. "Expense is more than just the price tag you are seeing." He said before turning and taking her hand, giving her a more proper smile. "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Marinette. I am Draco Malfoy." He then looked back to the display and motioned with a hand. "One should take many things into consideration when it comes to items. Durability, practicality, quality of the stitching. What is the expected life of the item with proper care? Then compare the same with a lower end piece of clothing. Is the more expensive item worthwhile if you will not need to replace it as often as a lower end item?"

Marinette nodded, already knowing that. "That's what I keep in mind when I make my designs," she agreed, "I wouldn't want customers to be displeased with an end product if I made something shoddy that wouldn't last, or that fell apart because I cut corners or used bad material." But she doesn't overprice her clothing either - if anything she probably could stand to charge a little more for what she made.
