(Open) We Must Remember
who: Lyle Dylandy + Open
what: october memory share event
when: 10/9 - 10/23
where: everywhere
warnings: grand theft auto; epic mech moment; death
This Is Mine Now - First Person
[It was the third time that Lyle had circled the area where he first spotted the car, taking several days to do it. Yep, it was definitely the car that he thought it was, as he walked up and looked at the license plate. He stopped for a long moment, looking up and down the street as though expecting someone to suddenly come around the corner.
In a way, he was, but when that person didn't make an appearance and no one else seemed to as well in this quiet stretch of street, Lyle went into action, pulling out a lock jimmy from his trench coat. It didn't take long for him to actually get it open, opening the door and sitting down in the car. He immediately rifled through the glove box; the name on the registration said "Neil Dylandy"]
Jackpot.
[He continued to search the car for a few a moments, finally discovering under one of the seats a set of keys]
Good luck getting this back.
Mech For The Win - Third Person
Lyle piloting Zabanya
Lost Love - Third Person
Death of Anew Returner, Lyle's girlfriend.

Lost Love - Shared Dreamscape
He's aware quite suddenly that things are not going as expected when she attacks, but there's little that can be done in a dream of a memory besides witness it. Generally the person whose memory the dream belonged to was along for the ride when it came to these things, but Ed didn't look for Lyle here in the present. Having to relive his own memories in these dreams had been bad enough, turning his attention on Lyle in this moment wouldn't do any good. It wouldn't end the dream any faster, and it wasn't exactly a happy memory for discussion.
"She's not... human." That much was obvious from the words spoken as the fight played out, and although Ed had made plenty of friends who weren't human there was something about this that was oddly familiar. The human appearance, the superiority of not wanting to be compared to a human, there was something conflicting within her. Like a homunculus, it seemed that she wanted to embrace her humanity with Lyle, but being whatever she was stood in the way of that.
His gaze lowers as the battle continues, as if unwilling to watch the rest. Of course Ed couldn't see her being controlled by an outside force, but he was reminded of Lust, Sloth and Wrath. Of their motivations and thought processes, how none of them viewed their existence as a homunculus the same as the others. It's obvious that if this is Lyle's memory he must have survived the encounter, but that didn't make watching it any easier.
no subject
He heard the voice of Ed nearby. He was close enough that Lyle was able to hear him, but even if he didn't want to watch this anymore, he couldn't look away even to spot Ed.
"No, she wasn't. She was an Innovator but she didn't know it until not long before this. I already knew there was something different about her, but I didn't care. I just wanted her back. And she wanted to come back. Then something else happened. It stopped being her even if she was the one saying it."
