( closed ) let's dance
who: Steve Trevor & Loki
what: enjoying Tavernfest by having drinks and dancing
when: now
where: starting at some bar
warnings: none; will update if need be
[ Following Loki's directions isn't difficult, particularly considering how long he's spent studying the streets and getting lost all around the Quarantine over the course of his first few weeks here. Having the name of the place helps too, so if he happens to get the streets mixed up, he simply asks some passer-by for help.
Eventually he gets to the bar Loki picked, stepping inside and taking a look around. It's not too modern or overly sophisticated, but it doesn't look cheap either. He especially likes some of the decorative elements, the swords and shields hanging on the walls. Shrugging off his jacket so he's down to his trousers, shirt and vest, he starts looking at the people in there, spotting a striking figure by the counter with her back turned to him— and he makes his way over, keeping a good distance until he's sure he didn't get it wrong. ]
Loki?

Loki?

[ Her fingers waggle in earnest as she slides an enigmatic smile across the room to the dancefloor. The music is lively. ]
Take me for a spin?
no subject
He glances across the room, smiling a bit as he spots a few people dancing. Doesn't take much thinking to oblige her, and he takes her hand in his, rising to his feet. ]
Come on.
no subject
You're the second dance I've had since I came to the Quarantine. First time I asked Jason Todd, I don't know if you've met, and it was a very different sort of dancefloor. Have you ever been into the basement of Trixie where the club is?
no subject
No. I walked around the main floor, but never went down there. [ Once they get to the dance floor, he turns around to face her, lifting her hand up and stepping closer so he can place his other hand on her waist. ] What is it like?
no subject
Hand in his and one on his shoulder, she bops about to the beat in his arms, swaying them around. What's the point of a pretty dress if she can't make it flare a little? ]
Trixie is a brick building, the basement used to be a cellar. I opened it up and installed lights around the caverns, it's quite dark but you can always find your way up and out the stairs no matter what.
no subject
The song is lively but it's not that hard to keep up with it. Steve's not a particularly skilled dancer, as she can likely tell, but at least he doesn't step on her toes. ]
Sounds cozy. [ A little too dark— or maybe he's not imagining it properly. ] And what sort of dancing goes on down there that's so different?
no subject
[ Fond as she beams at him, Loki waggles her brows. ]
Ah, I'm not certain I want to contaminate your pure mind with a demonstration ...
no subject
You'll have to work a little harder for that next time. I'm not that easy to get into bed.
[ He's probably going to regret that, isn't he? Yes, he's almost sure he will. Well, too late now. ]
If it's that bad, a verbal description will do. Or just... let me imagine it. [ He probably can't even begin to. ]

[ There's a glimmer in her eyes that says Steve just divebombed his way into a pit of mischief and it's all his own fault by giving her license to use words as she sees fit. Loki slows them down to a sway and holds his gaze if she can, her voice dropping to a deep, suggestive tone; he said it himself. Silvertongue. A spell to enchant him to listen. ]
My hands would steal down your chest, pull your hips to mine, yours roaming up the back of my dress to paw your way down for a grope over my rear, giving a tight squeeze because you know it's worth appreciating and in the shadows no one else can see the way I like it. You could feel my breasts pushed up against your shirt. My thigh sliding between yours to rise and fall with the bass of the music pounding through our bones, connecting us so I can ride the way you move ...
[ She'll trail off there in case he has a conniption, nose to nose. ]
no subject
Well, thankful isn't the word. They're standing very close right now, and he can almost taste her breath on his lips. For a moment it's almost as though they really are dancing the way she's describing, even if they aren't. ]
That sounds... [ His voice leaves him a moment, and he clears his throat. ] Very— close.

If you ever get over your lady love, or need help with that, you know where I am.
no subject
Right. [ He doesn't even know what to make of an offer like that. Does he thank her? That seems a bit crass. He offers her a small smile, though, nodding. He can't imagine getting over Diana anytime soon (or ever), but still. ] You make me look like a terrible dancer, distracting me like that.
no subject
[ She tips her head back and watches some of the other dancers, giving him a break from the weight of her stare. ]
Anything fun planned for tomorrow at the non-stop community centre?
no subject
[ His tone is remarkably devoid of reproach. Maybe he enjoys it just a little bit too. Maybe. ]
Oh, not much. Maybe a football game, but nothing official or anything. It's not incredibly exciting there, you know.
no subject
I could drop by to see you, that would be exciting enough.
no subject
[ It is a public place after all, but that's not why Steve says it. He would enjoy her (or his) company, if she were to drop by. ]
no subject
[ She looks very pleased to hear it, piping up after indulging in a wide smile. ]
How do I look tonight, is it similar to the women you knew back home? I though it would be nice for you to have someone dressing up from your era, instead of mine. Mine's everywhere, obviously. Is this okay?
no subject
It's perfectly fine. You look wonderful, Loki. [ He purses his lips, considering her question. ] It's... a little more daring, but it suits you. Anyway, I don't think you could ever look like any of the women back in my world.
no subject
I couldn't unless it was an outright illusion. When it comes to shapeshifting that's physical and I can't look like anything but myself in whatever body I have.
no subject
That's not... what I meant. What I was getting at is that you're very... unique. There aren't any women like you. [ He waves his fingers a little, not quite letting go of her hand. ] Anyway, it was a compliment. Sort of? [ Look, he tried. ]
no subject
[ Mouth falling open in mock-surprise. ]
no subject
What? No! No, I— no. I was just being nice, I swear to you. It wasn't some sort of... uh. Move. [ That's what people call it, right. ]
no subject
[ Quirking a brow pointedly at her chest, which sometimes is much flatter. Or foxier. ]
no subject
I'm not. I wasn't. But if it makes a difference, you're also very— [ cough ] —striking as a man. And before you ask— that's not me flirting.
no subject
[ That pleases her immensely to hear, flushing pink as she chuckles. ]
Why isn't that considered flirting, Steve? What do you think would happen if it were?
