Log: Too much walking shoes worn thin
who: Jason Todd
what: Jason exploring and being down during Tavernfest.
when: September 24th- October 5th
where: Around the city
warnings: Some heavy drinking, cursing and possibly fighting. update: nsfw in Loki thread.
A: Perimeter Guard Headquarters
Jason hadn't been sure where he would be assigned to today, he had come in again freshly sobered and just a coming off the tail end of a hang over from being out at Tavernfest the night before. He always tried to make sure he was sober by the time he was due to work in the AM. He was in proper uniform and like always his guns were strapped to his thighs. Being at work was the only time he really had a chance to let the weapons out or have a chance to use them.
To many heroes in the city for him to really get much of a chance to do much. He tried to hide a yawn as he stood quietly killing time.
B: Tavernfest + Bookstore
Jason had hurried home once he was done with work, changing quickly into the fancy clothes he had bought the first day of the festival. Slicking his hair into a proper Victorian style, and grabbing the cane shaped umbrella, and hurrying back out the door. Only a quick hello offered to his roommates as he quickly changed by his bed and left.
Stopping at different places to try the different foods and the pairing options. It was fun, he had never had much of a chance back home to do stuff like this. It was nice. He walked along, the umbrella over his shoulder, a black and red pattern that went well with his suit. Humming a certain Rhianna song to himself since he was bored and moving through the crowds looking for the next place to stop.
"Excuse me." He spoke, squeezing through a small crowd to get to the edge of a bookstore he had not found yet, making his way inside to close the umbrella, tapping the rain off and moved inside to look around. Drinking could wait when there were new books to look at.
C: Jay's favorite Divebar. (After talking to Bruce over the network)
Jason stared solemnly down at the phone in his hands. He was Sitting at his favored place at the bar. Not bothering to play pool, or go out back looking for a fight. His fancy festival jacket hung open as he sat at the bar, the frilly black shirt still in place. His hair was messed all up, and he generally just looked a mess from how fancy he looked the days of Tavernfest. No he sat there quietly working on his drink. Rereading the messages between him and Bruce... not Bruce. Whoever the child was.
Each time his pint was empty he just tapped the glass without looking up.
They had come so far from his rage when he returned to Gotham. So much bad blood, so much time lost... it was his fault of course. Everything was his fault. He kept opening a new text but never sent it. Loki's name waiting for it to be sent but each time he closed it and looked back to Bruce's messages.
How were Dick and Damian handling this? He knew he should go knock on that door and question them, offer an olive branch to help his older brother and his growing house of boys. After all, he had NO doubt at all that Dick was going to take little Bruce in the way Bruce had taken all of them in.
He lifted his finger tapping the glass again.
D: Umbrella
Being Gotham born and bred, Jason knew the fancy umbrella wasn't exactly needed. He was used to miserable rain, it almost never bothered him. It was near midnight that he was out tonight, not dressed up for the festival. Dodging people that got to close as well. Dressed in his normal civilian clothes. His red leather pants he had gotten not to long ago during the acid rains, and a black long sleeved shirt. His big black boots splashing on the sidewalk as he made his way through the night streets. Taking in the sounds of the city, the way he did when he was upset, or just needed to center his energy... the same way he helped calm Bizaaro. Listen to the life of the city.
Cities were alive.
And god did the life of this city make him miss the cesspool he called home. He hated Gotham three fourths of the time, but, it always called him home.

E: Anything else?

He turned offering a weak smile to Loki. Well, he looked both lovely and far to chipper at the hour. ]
I don't do that early eating thing. [ The thought of food just was not welcomed so early.] What brings you here?
no subject
What takes me anywhere, you might ask. Are you sure you don't want a coffee or something? I assume you're on the early shift.
no subject
And yet, you give no clue. Ever so mysterious. [ He found it charming.] I could use some coffee, yeah, I haven't actually slept... since sometime yesterday. I always work the early shift. Makes the nightlife easier.
[ Made sleeping easier, less of his roommates home when he face planted into his bed and slept the early afternoon away.]
no subject
Ah, pumpkin spice! Basic, but effective. Here you are.
[ And he offers it to Jason with a good-natured smile. ]
No assignment yet, I take it.
no subject
[ Jay arched a brow at that, amused as always.]
I look like a basic bitch to you?
[ His tone was playful as it could be all things considered. Taking the cup he didn't even spare a look to the name but took a drink.]
Thanks. And no, not yet. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky and get the day off.
no subject
[ Hands slide into the pockets of his coat and he glances away through the window to the grounds below, the jungle beyond the wall. ]
If you escape, hit me up. These halls are quiet today.
no subject
[ He added playfully. Jason moved to stand next to Loki and look down.]
I could always fake a cough, if your that lonely. [ like hell that would work, but he only had a few hours to go anyway.]
no subject
[ He slides in to drape an arm around Jason's waist, pleased to know what he feels like underneath all that armour. Jason's gun taps the scalemaille on Loki's thigh and he glances down. ]
You could always simply invite me over to your place for a sleepover, later. Once you're done heroically shooting at trees and whatever.
no subject
I hope I get to shoot more than trees. They don't really fight back... and if they do, fuck that shit. [ he's seen his worlds version of Evil Dead, no thank you.] That's one idea, or, we could skip the parade of noisy kids and just rent a room to stay at for a night.
[ While he did think the world of his roommates, in his own way, he hated giving them any insight into his life beyond what he willingly shared.]
no subject
A rented room for some illicit cuddling? Scandalous!
no subject
The rumors we could start if anyone knew. I really should break down and get my own place, but, its cheaper staying where I am. My floormates are all cool but nosy.
[ Not as much as he think's he's just a paranoid bird.]
no subject
[ Nudging the coffee pot away from Jason's lips, he leans over to steal a brief kiss. ]
no subject
Maybe I have more in mind. [ He spoke pulling back.]
no subject
[ It's something he's been aware of, that seeking out intimate affection could organically lead to more (again) with Jason, he was simply waiting to see what happened with Tony. The engineer is awake now and ... has put them on a break, Loki supposes, for all intents and purposes. It's a sticky situation. They definitely aren't a couple.
Jason is outside of all that, hot to kiss and touch and sweet in his words. It isn't as if Loki doesn't want more, glancing between warm eyes and full lips. ]
Let's see what happens?
[ He doesn't want to make promises on what he might not be able to deliver. ]
no subject
[ Jason enjoyed Loki's company and the things the silver tongued devil could do to his body, but, he didn't have a lot of people he trusted and Loki was one of the few he had. He wouldn't jeperdize that. More so knowing about Tony now.]
Sounds good to me.
[ He was about to say something else, but then his name was called.]
Duty calls, I'll see you around 3?
no subject
As promised, the godling awaits Jason outside the front doors of the perimeter guard station, albeit having had such a day that certain things have altered if not Loki's desire to see Jason again. She plays with a hotel key-card where she waits for him perched on a railing, now in civilian clothes of a white shirt and jeans. Long hair falls about her shoulders, loose and wavy, and she wears no helm in case his kisses want to zero in on her forehead again.
Whenever she spots him exiting the building, she waves. ]
no subject
[ And mock salute had been given as he vanished off for his assignment.
When three hit, Jason wasn't the only Guard to exit the building the others having a conversation while Jay walked out with a bag on his shoulder shoving something inside.
He stopped lookingredients for Loki as the others walked on, he didn't pay them any mind. It's when his eyes landed on an extremely attractive woman waving his way.
No way.
He walked over stopping just before her, eyes sweeping over the beautiful woman. ]
Hi.
[ His mind fighting, half saying it must be Loki, the rest saying no way, that's not possible. But she had a key card and was waiting.]
no subject
What are you carrying?
no subject
A book and a change of clothes. [ He finally had to lean in a little closer.] Are you who I think you are?
[ He had to ask, a lot lined up but a lot didn't. Logical thinking doesn't always come in handy.]
no subject
Always. [ She loops her arm through his and leans over to plant a kiss on his cheek, hoping that clues him in. ] I booked a suite for the night, the hotel is a couple of blocks down. There's take-out waiting too, I thought you would want to eat first.
no subject
The kiss on the cheek was indeed the clue he needed, those blue eyes going wide, along with both so many questions and a bit of excitement. The world that kind of ability could open up. His face lit up as everything fell into place.]
Okay, you're officially the best friend ever. Lead the way.
[ Leaning back over to kiss her forehead, it was so much easier without the helm.]
no subject
Big boys need big meals, I hope I bought something you'll like. How was patrol, did you shoot any trees?
no subject
You know the way to a man's heart. [ He couldn't help thinking 'through the ribcage' letting an amused noise escape him before shrugging his shoulders.]
That would have been more exciting, no, I got to stand and guard a door. I spent most of the day playing on my phone when no one was looking. How was your day?
no subject
no subject
I didn't know you were a writer. What kind of story did you write? [ Looking down to her, admiring both the view and the closeness. But the nerd in him was curious about the stories.]
