[ This is a mingle log, so everyone feel free to write up your own starters, or just vaguely list out things your character might be up to, so other people know how they'd encounter them and where/how to engage. Some ideas for Perimeter Guard stuff:

• studying maps and working on map expansion;
• compiling wild animal data, reading/writing reports, other boring paperwork stuff;
• checking weaponry and devices, making repairs, etc.;
• going beyond the wall for a bit of surveying and exploration;
• checking out the shuttle currently being repaired (only Poe and Jim would actually be able to take it out for a test flight of any kind, but feel free to poke either of us if you'd like to thread that out!).

I want to go on missions. I want to help. I'm stronger than most of the people here and we know it.

[ It's not a bragging point though and Jon is careful to hold that part of him back. He's only recently gotten comfortable with his powers again. He's not keen on feeling like the strongest, but neither is Jon the weakest. ]

[fingerstripes]

[ Dick eyes him appraisingly for a moment. Tries not to let the trepidation he feels in his heart show in his face.

Jon needs an outlet. A purpose. Hadn’t he needed the same thing at his age? ]

Got any plans before dinner?

[supersweet]

[ Jon perks up immediately, unable to hold back his surprise. ]

No. Does this mean . . . ?

[fingerstripes]

[ Welp there's no backing down now. ]

Grab your stuff. We're shipping out.

[ He'll wait. ]

[supersweet]

Yes!

[ Jon whooped into the air and immediately straightens his costume. He stands squarely, in the Superman pose, his fists on his hips. ]

I'm ready!!

[fingerstripes]

[ He really can’t not break out in a grin for that. ]

You sure? Now’s your chance to grab a danish for the road.

[supersweet]

[ Jon wavers, not wanting to seem weak for getting food and wanting one anyway. Then he raises his shoulders. ]

No, I'm ready!

[fingerstripes]

[ Luckily for Jon Nightwing is always prepared. ]

You can give me a shout out later if you change your mind.

[ And without further preamble he beckons him to follow, and he'll lead him out to the carefully chosen hiding spot for the bike behind the guard house.

A simple mission. In and out. ]

Why would I change my mind?

[ There's no way he would after getting a chance to go. ]

[fingerstripes]

I'm talking about the snacks, short stuff. [ He sweeps dead leaves off his bike, beckoning the boy to the spot behind him and wondering again if he's making the right decision.

Knowing that it's the only decision he can make. He needs Jon to trust him. ]

We're going, I swear.

[supersweet]

[ Jon crosses his arms with a pout. ]

I'm taller than Damian.

Where are we going?

[fingerstripes]

I had an project out by the ruins, when I had your dad to give me a hand. [ Bike cleared, he takes a step back, giving Jon his full attention again. The request is sincere. ]

Think you might be ready to take that on?

[supersweet]

[ There's a flicker of doubt. ]

I . . . Yeah. I am.
