( open ) get on board for perimeter guard shenanigans

who: Perimeter Guard members & visitors
what: a catch-all for routine Perimeter Guard stuff and shenanigans
when: throughout September
where: Perimeter Guard, beyond the wall, etc.
warnings: put any warnings in comment headers if need be!

[ This is a mingle log, so everyone feel free to write up your own starters, or just vaguely list out things your character might be up to, so other people know how they'd encounter them and where/how to engage. Some ideas for Perimeter Guard stuff:

• studying maps and working on map expansion;
• compiling wild animal data, reading/writing reports, other boring paperwork stuff;
• checking weaponry and devices, making repairs, etc.;
• going beyond the wall for a bit of surveying and exploration;
• checking out the shuttle currently being repaired (only Poe and Jim would actually be able to take it out for a test flight of any kind, but feel free to poke either of us if you'd like to thread that out!).

Go forth and have fun! ]

[Ivar's luckier than some when it comes to the tedious task of paperwork. If anyone tries to foist it on him, they're met with a shrug and the response, "I can't read." He'll find someone else who can perform the task, bullying or pleading his way into having them take over for him. From the way everyone keeps griping about it, he doesn't think he's missing out on too much there.

Maps are better, so long as one doesn't mind ᚾ, ᛋ, ᛁ, and standing in place for North, South, East, and West on the compass he puts at the bottom. Ivar's got a good head for being able to draw fairly detailed areas even after visiting them only once. It comes from being from a time period where knowing how to navigate a territory meant the difference between life or death.

But where the Viking truly excels is defending the wall from monsters. It's clear he's just beaten back another foul beastie when he comes rolling into the Guard's main building, a nice splattering of blood covering him from head to toe. He blithely ignores any stares he gets, going straight to wash up. You can tell he had a good time, for he's got a very sharp and toothy grin on his face.]
