who: 2B and whomever responds (probably perimeter guard members)
what: settling in with the guard (various prompts)
when: frontdated to after the picnic on april 10th
where: the Guard barracks
warnings: not really
i
[A new recruit has arrived, and she's quick to introduce herself.]
YoRHa unit number two, type B reporting. I'm projected to join the Perimeter Guard of Riverview Quarantine in the near future. When that happens we will participate in shared missions.
Let's work together to ensure future success.
[She states matter-of-factly, fist to the chest in an unusual salute.]

[Okay, before anyone joins anything it's time for physical evaluation and conditioning, or as it's more widely known - boot camp.
Stamina training, obstacle course, weight lifting. It doesn't matter what she's told to do, 2B completes the exercise swiftly and without any complaints. She's not even winded at the end and wearing a blindfold doesn't seem to inconvenience her in any way. Is she even a human? Of course she's not, is she.
How about this then - peeling potatoes in the kitchen. Someone has to do it, right? Just this one time, 2B looks rather pouty at the task. She's still doing it though.]
iii
[Time for weapons practice. 2B stands in front of the weapon rack, pondering her situation. In the end, she's here to fight. No support pod, no operator, it's going to be different than before. Possibly much harder.
But that's not the only thing that's different. She's going to fight, but not to kill. She'll protect others. She'll protect humans. 2B allows herself a small momentary smile. If you look at it like that, it doesn't sound too bad.]
Right. This should be fine.
[She picks up a training baton from the rack and proceeds to swing and spin it around a few times for good measure. Time to get started - are there any onlookers to comment? Or perhaps join in the practice?]

Sorry for the late! had an RL emergency
How about a race?
[It's just a bit of fun, and he knows they'll get the task done more quickly if they're competing, too.]
no subject
[So she had a competetive streak too, who'd expect.]
no subject
On three, two, one... go!
[His hand darts out, grabbing a potato from the stack and quickly getting to work. He's seen how fast she is; he'll have to work hard if he wants to keep up.]
no subject
She tosses the peel aside in a dramatic gesture and already grabs for another vegetable. The effects are a little rough, but you can't argue with the speed.]
no subject
The poor potatoes are being rather haphazardly thrown back into a pile once he's done peeling them, and his tongue pokes out slightly as he concentrates on this task. There's absolutely no room to talk.]
no subject
Finished.
[Hard to say who won in the end though. All potatoes are peeled but they went into a single pile so... did anyone keep the score?]
no subject
Okay, it looks like I lost this one. [Might as well finish with the last few, though! As he's peeling, still quickly but at a more reasonable pace, he pipes up.] Since you won, you get to pick which one you want to see today.
no subject
[Somehow she suspects Yuuri isn't talking about potatoes. Which means...]
Dancing or skating, is it?
no subject
Yeah. We should have enough time to teach you something if you want to try it out, too. What do you think?
no subject
[She looks surprised at the proposal.]
I'm not sure if I have time right now. I need to report this task's completion.
[She turns a little to the side, hands on hips as the surprise turns into thoughtfulness.]
I still want to see what you can do, though.
no subject
That's too bad. You can always stop by the community center some other day if you feel like joining one of the classes, though. [Yuuri taps his cheek as he scans the kitchen for something.] Did you see any containers around here? We can head out once we put the potatoes away.
no subject
[That look of disappointment does not escape 2B.]
We should hurry. The sooner the report is given, the more likely it is we'll have time to...
Containers? There's a need for one?
[She was happy to just pile the potatoes on the floor. Someone doesn't know much about human food...]
no subject
[Oh, right. Yuuri looks back at her, in the middle of opening some cupboards to search for something appropriate.] I almost forgot...I guess it wouldn't matter to you.
[Since she's an android and all. Yuuri cocks his head curiously as something else occurs to him.] Wait--do you even need to eat anything? [You never know!]
no subject
[2B subconsciously mimics Yuuri's head movement as she too considers something.]
Purified water is preferable, because impurities may cause problems in the filter. Does human food have to be kept clean for a similar reason?
no subject
[Don't mind him, he's just scooping up the potatoes and placing them into the plastic container he found.]
no subject
[Sounds important. 2B will definitely remember it for later.]
If I had my pod here, this would've been much faster.
[She adds with only the slightest hint of complaint in her voice while picking up the peeled potatoes one by one and throwing them into the designated container. While her speed and accuracy are very good as usual, this isn't really the most efficient way of doing this kind of thing.]
no subject
What does it do?
no subject
They can do more than that though. For example... there's fishing.
no subject
Okay, that should be enough. [With a little sigh, Yuuri straightens up and pushes the box of potatoes away from the edge of the kitchen counter.] Want to head out now?
no subject
[Whatever these mysterious purposes may be, 2B doesn't disclose. She does sound a little embarrassed about it however.]
Yes. Let's go now.
no subject
So.. you're the winner of our contest. [He says when they're back out on the streets.] What did you want to see first?
no subject
Ah, right.
[She totally forgot about the bet they had. Short term memory hasn't been processed yet, so that part was pushed to the back until now.]
Ice skating, wasn't it? Moving on a frozen surface. I'd like to see you do it.
no subject
[More gently, he says, pointing-] The rink's this way. It's in the Community Center.
no subject
[Sounding curious, 2B follows along.]
I assume this is something you are very proficient at.
no subject
You should watch Viktor skate sometime--he's amazing. [As soon as he steers the conversation away from himself and onto Viktor, his eyes light up.] No one's even come close to the winning streak he had.
