[OTA] A New World
Who: Draco Malfoyhp & OTA
What: Adjusting to the new Norm.
When: August 24th, evening. (Slgihtly Backdated)
Where: around the city.
Warnings: To be added as needed.
Draco's head swam with the new information. The welcoming, the video, the explanations. All of it. It boggled the mind. Stretched his ability to comprehend and adjust to its limit, threatening to break it. He had been given a room assignment and a job offer. He had hoped to retreat into solitude in order to collect himself... only to find he was sharing a flat with another. He'd stashed the broom he'd been riding when he'd come through the portal and what little things he'd been carrying and given.
Option A
Stepping outside of the communal housing Draco paused as he looked around, then down to the device resting in his hand. He'd been given some instruction on it, aide with setting up this Friendr... thing. But it was still largely a strange mystery. He didn't understand how it worked, and that was probably what bothered him the most. Sighing he shoved it into his pocket and looked around. Where to first?
Option B
Moving away from the communal building Draco just wandered. Letting his feet take him where they may. Turning when something struck his fancy. If he came upon an establishment that seemed open to the public than he stepped inside and peeked in. Looking at goods and services offered to try and see if they might offer things he'd need in the future.
[This option you can catch him wandering around or catch him inside one of the open to public businesses in town.]
Option C
After doing some wandering around the town Draco eventually stopped for a rest as the evening wore on. Finding a bench he stopped and took a seat. The walking had helped in some ways, but in others, it left him with more questions than answers. Still uncomfortable in this strange setting. Still very much on guard and watching his words so very carefully. It made him weary and he longed for solitude... yet he did not know if he would find it in his new residence being as he shared it with another.

"I am perfectly fine, thank you." Draco had looked up before speaking and found the woman vaguely familiar. She was... Kate?
no subject
"And-" She turned back to him. "-it's nice to meet you in person."
no subject
"Likewise. Kate, am I remembering correctly?" He asked to make sure. He was fairly certain his memory was not failing him. But just to be sure... he has to ask.
no subject
"There is a lot about this world that is strange." Which was saying something after what Kate had been through. "I don't know about it's magic but there is a research facility that looks into it, the portal and the magic of other worlds." She didn't know all the details but she knew that the building existed and if Draco was looking for answers he might find them there.
"Can I ask about your own magic? What's it like?"
no subject
"Thank you for telling me that information, I will be sure to visit them." He said, giving her a brief smile.
"As for my magic, I am not sure I can explain that to you well. It is simply magic. You are born with a magical core or you are not. You use a wand to channel your magic and manifest spells. Some are strong and skilled enough to cast some spells without a wand, but that is rare."
no subject
She looked thoughtful as she turned towards him. "The magic I'm used to is different. It's like ancient rituals that can turn night to day and open the way to some power well." She shivered at the memory of it. It had all been dark magic in her mind and it made her skin crawl thinking about it.
"I haven't seen anything with wands." Kate's understanding was that it was different between worlds. Those in her world didn't have to be born with magic to do these rituals.

At her words he took out his wand and held it for her to see, though not to take. "This is my wand. Faithful and trustworthy." Though it had served Potter for a time, it had still returned to him. "I would perform magic, but I do not know hwo it would react in this universe. I do not want to cause you any harm."
no subject
There was hope in Kate's voice. Nothing else in the world made her as stubbornly sure as hope did. When she had first arrived she thought that she'd lost that hope but it was still there. She continued to believe.
Kate looked at Draco with a warm smile. "Is there a place you'd like to see? I can show you around some." She had time to kill before heading to work.
no subject
"That may be, but this universe is wholly different. There could be the most subtle difference that cannot be first seen that could provide disastorous consequences." He said, pausing and giving the slightest of shrugs. "Magical Theory, among other things, is a hobby of mine. I will test my magic in my own time, in safety to ensure I will not inadvertantly be a danger to others. Just because their magic works the same doesn't mean mine will. LArgely is seems this place is populated with those whose worlds had magic anyone could learn, whereas mine does not. It is an integral part of myself." He said, the last bit with his hand rest upon his chest.
Draco then gave a shake of his head. "No, I am sorry. I have largely gotten a general lay of the land, right now I am just... resting."
no subject
Her expression softened as her chin dropped and her eyes looked down at her fingers. "Yes. That is true. It's wise of you to be careful." Her voice was soft but affectionate and kind.
"I'll leave you to rest then. If you need anything please let me know, okay."
