( closed ) Boy, I hear you in my dreams.

who: Otabek Altin & Yuri Plisetsky
what: A first date.
when: August 27, after this
where: Around town.
warnings: If fluff needs to be warned for, then consider this a warning.

Otabek didn't get nervous about very many things. There was always a little bit of worry before he performed, whether it was as a DJ or on the rink. But what had really made him nervous was asking Yuri to be with him, and then planning the date. He had prepared himself about a month for this, too. After several months of friendship, he had realized that there was something different there from friendship. Otabek was one to work slowly, though, so it took him an entire month to work up the nerve to even ask this of Yuri, and he had spent some of the time scoping out good places to take someone on a first date.

His search history on his laptop would be rather embarrassing. Phrases such as "good first dates" had almost every top result selected and thoroughly read. How he found the time - it was a miracle. Even more miraculous that he didn't somehow get found out or caught.

Still, at the end of the day, he didn't want to make it anything too different from things that they typically enjoyed to do together. Maybe toss in a nice dinner, but beyond that, he was going to let things happen as they happened.

He did dress nice, though. Leather pants, a dress shirt in a deep shade of green, and his leather jacket. He retrieved his motorcycle from the garage about thirty minutes before he agreed to meet Yuri, and checked it out to make sure that everything was ready. He grabbed Yuri's helmet and placed it into storage, then put on his own and made his way to the apartment Yuri shared with Eddie and Cisco.

He parked it up front of the building, took off his helmet, and made his way to the apartment. He knocked, sucking in a breath and waiting.

He was nervous.

He shouldn't be, he already got the answer he had hoped for (despite thinking that it was most likely he wouldn't get a positive response at all).

But he was.

Despite everything, Yuri was a little nervous, too. He had never been on an official, real date before, and he was just as anxious as he was excited. Maybe it was a little silly to feel so high strung about it, given that all of the times he and Otabek had already hung out probably could have been construed as dates if viewed through the right lens- but of course, Yuri wasn't thinking that way right then. All he could focus on was hoping that Otabek thought he looked nice.

He'd had Eddie braid his hair into a messy fishtail, a few pieces artfully pulled free around his face. He was wearing his favourite ankle high leopard print and black leather boots with black leggings that had slashes of leather and skin. His shirt was dark purple, low cut and flowing, cut to a v shape at the bottom and stopping mid thigh. He wore a light black jacket with a leopard print lining over top the shirt, and the pair of riding gloves Otabek had given him for his birthday. He hoped Otabek would like it- hoped Otabek thought he looked nice.

For the past twenty minutes he had been nervously peering out the living room window, trying to watch for Otabek's arrival as his leg bounced and jiggles anxiously, fingers bunching up the edge of the shirt as he waited.

When he saw the other driving up, Yuri beamed, shouting a breathless goodbye to his room mates, before launching himself at the door. Otabek had hardly had a moment to knock before Yuri was pulling it open, his smile brilliant and expecting as he met the others eyes.

"Hi," he murmured, suddenly shy, biting his lip and grinning despite himself, "so um. Shall we?"

"Hi," Yuri repeated again, a little stupidly- more than just a little giddy. Nervously, he plucked at the edge of his shirt with one of his hands for a moment, before stepping out the door and into the hallway, closing the door behind him. Was he supposed to say something now? Should he kiss Otabek? Yuri didn't really... know. It wasn't like he'd spent literally any time watching romcoms or things like that- suddenly Yuri felt like he should have, at least then he might have had an idea s to... well, what to do next.

"You look really nice," Yuri murmured, reaching up and tugging playfully on the lapel of the other's jacket, still smiling a little coyly as he kept chewing on his lower lip, gazing up at Otabek from underneath his long blond lashes. "Handsome," he added after a moment, subtly preening in pleasure at the way Otabek's own gaze had slid over him. Hoping that his guess was correct, and that Otabek liked the outfit. If his stuttered noises were anything to go by, then... yeah. Otabek liked it. Yuri wanted to drink in those sounds, loved knowing that he could throw the cool, calm and collected Otabek Altin off, even just a little.

He could hardly wait until Otabek could get a look at the back of his shirt; see the translucent lace that really didn't cover much. It was sexy. He was allowed to look sexy for his boyfriend-- right?

"Yeah, that sounds really good. I'll follow your lead," Yuri grinned, before standing up on his tiptoes to plant a quick peck on the other's cheek, "Thanks for taking me out, Beka," he murmured, blushing slightly. Once he had started kissing Otabek, now that he had permission to kiss him... well, it was really hard to stop.

Blushing at the other's compliment, Yuri couldn't help but feel pleased. He was almost tempted to twirl, do a little pirouette for the other's sake to give him a look at the complete outfit and take it all in. But he managed to have some self-restraint, instead just smiling and letting out a soft, "Thanks," though it was more than clear that he was immensely pleased to hear it from the other's lips.

Yuri was more than happy to kiss the other back again, even though they were outside- that neither one of them was all that big into public displays of affection. But this was just a kiss, it wasn't like they were wildly inappropriately sucking face on a subway car or in a public park like he had seen SOME couples do. That had always grossed Yuri out to no end. Not to mention how sappy and disgustingly over the top Katsudon and his stupid fiance had always been, too. Nope, as far as Yuri was concerned there was a reasonable amount of public affection that was acceptable. Holding hands, rubbing noses, butterfly kisses, quick chaste pecks on the lips or cheek- but otherwise, that sort of thing ought to have been reserved for more private places, and he was more than glad that Otabek seemed to feel the same way. He didn't think it would have worked out between them if there had been that sort of pressure between them.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, with anyone else," Yuri admitted softly, smiling as he accepted his helmet, tucking it over his head and swinging his leg over behind the other. More often than not Yuri had clung on to the seat, not wanting to infringe upon the other's space, or make him feel uncomfortable. Now though, Yuri wound his arms around the other's middle gladly. Hanging on as he rested against the other's back, his heart pounding with excitement for what was to come.

He could have stayed on the back of the other's bike for the rest of the night and he would have loved every moment of it. It would have been the perfect first date in his eyes- but then they rolled up to the restaurant, and Yuri's heart fluttered. Nervous, and excited, Yuri took the other's hand as he helped him get off the bike. He didn't need help, of course- but the gesture was nice. Holding Otabek's hand was nice. Everything about their time together was more than Yuri could have ever hoped for himself, and once he had taken his helmet off- there was another kiss. Soft and pressed to his lips and Yuri felt warmth flush through him, a dopey smile on his face when Otabek drew away.

Yuri went above just holding Otabek's hand, he tucked himself underneath the other's arm, smiling brilliantly as he walked into the restaurant with the other, looking around and taking it in. It was a nice place- nothing too overwhelmingly fancy that either of them would feel uncomfortable, but quiet and calm enough that they wouldn't have to worry about anyone being too loud or having to shout to talk or hear one another. Yuri felt light, his heart so full of love and excitement for their future together.

"You picked a nice place, Beka," Yuri murmured, smiling affectionately as they waited for the server to come guide them to their table. It was hard to sit across from the other instead of beside him- all Yuri really wanted was to be snuggled up Otabek's side. Instead, he pressed his leg up against Otabek's underneath the table, leaving his palm opened on the top of it, an invitation for Otabek to keep holding it... if he wanted to.

For himself, Yuri ordered a soda, figuring that if he was going on a date, he was going to let himself slide from his strict diet just this once. If he made that excuse for every date he and Otabek had- well, he would be like the Japanese piggy in no time. But this was their first date, and Yuri already had visions in his head of sharing ice cream, of Lady and the Tramp style spaghetti noodle kissing- and those sort of things just couldn't happen if Yuri was going as far as to deny himself some sweet and delicious carbs.

Otabek wasn't the only one who could have called their date hanging out and cuddling and been more than happy with it. But to be out in public? To be holding hands over the surface of the table- where everyone could see... it turned Yuri's insides to jelly. Made his heart race and his expression glow warmly, so happy that he didn't even know the words for it. Not yet, at least. It felt good. To hold the other's hand and have Otabek hold it in return, and to know that they were boyfriends, and that it was okay for them to let the whole damn Quarantine know.

"I'm sure I will Beka," Yuri smiled easily, running his thumb across the other's knuckles as he used his other hand to open the menu, brows knitting as he looked it over with stern concentration. "Any idea what you're getting?" he wondered, tapping the plastic menu with pursed lips. Yuri wasn't really all that picky about his food usually, but if he was going to splurge and have a cheat day, hell yeah he wanted something greasy.

"Ouuuh, a rebel. Having fries instead of steamed vegetables. What would your coach say," Yuri teased, grinning despite himself- knowing damn well what his own coach would say about the situation. Although Yakov had been a little more lenient about his bad eating habits in the past, due to the fact that he was still growing and he had trouble keeping his weight up.

"I am definitely getting fries," he agreed, "Maybe even a burger. I haven't had a burger in- so long. With bacon and cheese and some mushrooms. That way at least I've eaten a vegetable," he laughed, nudging the other with his knee underneath the table, unable to stop smiling.

"I'm really happy you're here with me, Otabek," Yuri murmured softly, his eyes falling to rest on their joined hands, a slow breath leaving him, contentment swelling up in his chest, "Not just- here, in the restaurant- but in Riverview. In everything. I... I don't know what I would have done without you, these past few months,"
