a stranger's bed

As a lead in to September, Riverview's ♥ Month of Romance, this is a completely optional mingle that will cause affected characters to end up in each other's beds. There are various options for both established and new CR. While it's easiest for characters still living in Communal Housing, anyone who has moved to their own homes can be affected and end up finding their way to Communal Housing, or within their own housing.

Residents of the Quarantine may notice that various businesses selling food and drink - cafés, diners, bakeries, restaurants, and other such establishments - are heavily advertising a new flavor that's supposed to be the biggest thing since pumpkin spice. A flavor additive that's said to subtly change the flavor of whatever the diner is eating or drinking to optimize the dish, drink, dessert, or any other food item it is added to for each person's individual taste, it's been selling like wildfire and is the latest trend.

After the cause of the rash of amnesia was revealed to be plant-related, sellers are keeping the origin of the secret ingredient very close to their chests, since it is a derivative of a recently-discovered plant dubbed chameleonis. Depending on the method of ingestion, this additive can have a variety of unexpected side effects, but only once the person who has ingested it becomes sleepy. Methods of ingestion include:

● Ingestion: Beverage: When ingested as a flavor shot to drinks ranging from sodas to coffee to alcoholic beverages, it can cause a desire for closeness to a particular other person. Affected characters end up crawling into bed with that specific other character when they become sleepy.

● Ingestion: Food: When ingested as a flavoring added to a baked good or other meal, it can cause an intense desire for body heat when the character becomes drowsy. It won't matter to an affected character who is providing the body heat, so long as it's someone, and they will end up sleepily crawling into someone else's bed for warmth.

● Inhalation: When inhaled ether from a steaming hot beverage or soup, or as an essential oil or aroma from a bakery, it can cause disorientation when a character becomes sleepy. Affected characters either aren't sure which bed is theirs and simply crawl into the closest one, occupied or not, or become convinced that another character's bed is their own.

Feel free to post up a top-level for your own character either affected and invading a random bed or unaffected but open to having their bed invaded by affected characters, or tag around to other people's top-levels.

That's a rather startling thing to learn, isn't it?

[He's quiet for a minute, closing the locket and briefly touching that other necklace before he kisses Dodger's neck again.] Are you alright?

[He's not alright... but that's not something he wants to admit in words. Instead he just cups Eichi's cheek in one hand and pulls him into another kiss, deeper and more insistent than they've been in a while. More like the way he touched him turning the masquerade - desperate to distract himself, to make this the only thing that fits in his head. He just wants to not have to think.]

[It's surprising, but not unwelcome. He's warm, the kiss is nice, and he understands beyond that that Dodger must not want to speak about it. He covers one of Dodger's hands with his own, the other smoothing over the small of his back as he pulls himself closer, into that heat, responding well to the deeper kiss.]

[The kiss lasts a bit longer, before he breaks off with a small noise of frustration and presses his face to the crook of Eichi's neck.]

Why'd you want me here? Seriously... you must have better ways of keeping yourself warm and occupied.

...Do I need a reason?

[He's a little embarrassed about it, so of course he goes about it like this. A hand moves to the back of Dodger's head, petting through his hair as one of his legs bends and runs against the side of Dodger's, silk against skin.]

It's true that I could have invited anyone else, but I wanted your company.

[Well... he can't argue against that, and the affection is nice. It's so rare to get soft affection like this, not the break-neck ripped-clothes sort of deal that he and Khisanth have. Not the tiny stolen moments he manages with Shigeru. This is the sort of affection he finds himself craving constantly, and getting it without asking is... pretty incredible.

His fingers slip under Eichi's shirt, running over his back as he presses another kiss to Eichi's neck this time.]

And why's that?

[He just wants a compliment... he could really use the kind words, even if he won't believe them.]

[He really is fishing for compliments, isn't he? But it's kind of endearing in that way, and the touches and kisses are warm and he's more relaxed, enough that he can probably sleep. He nudges at Dodger to try and roll them both, wanting to straddle him and then settle down on his warm chest.]

I don't understand it myself, completely. I find myself enjoying your company, but beyond that, there was this strong desire in my chest, you know?

[He chuckles.] Spending time with you is always interesting. [And he likes that his hands are always on him, but hes not going to say that one out loud, yet.] I want to know more and more. ♪

[He catches onto the motion pretty easily, and rolls onto his back to let Eichi straddle him. He's used to it from Khisanth - she always wants to use him as a sunning rock.]

I'm 'interesting'? [That gets a quiet chuckle out of him, as he reaches up to ruffle Eichi's hair affectionately.] I guess I get that pretty often... but 'strong desire' is a new one.

It's a secret, but I've always wanted to be held close like this.

[Is it really a secret... Well, he says that anyway, nuzzling into Dodger's neck in response to the hair ruffle. It probably stays messed up like that, since it's soft and fluffs up easily.]

Surprisingly, you're someone that I want to spend time with, Jamie. Is that hard to believe?

A little.

[It's an honest answer - he's got no damn clue what Eichi would get out of this. He's attractive, sure, but... everything else about him should be decent enough reason to avoid him like the plague.]

...Can't say I mind it, though.

This is my first night out of the hospital this week... So I'd like to spend it like this. I was beginning to think I'd have to be alone.

[Selfishly, he's saying these things even with his plans for tomorrow, but... Right now, he doesn't want to worry about that.]

[Despite himself, he ends up sort of excited by Eichi's words - in the way a child gets excited hearing their parents talk about going to a certain mouse-themed amusement park.]

And what am I getting out of keeping you warm tonight? [Like he wasn't itching to be here in the first place...] There's gotta be an equal exchange here, yeah?

[He can tell Dodger wants this, too. Still, he hums, like he's considering it, and his mood is a lot more forgiving with all of these advances than usual. It's clear he's interested in the attention after being stuck in the hospital.]

What is it that you want?

You know what I want, Eichi.

[It's said a bit more softly than one would expect - a gentle reminder rather than his usual sarcastic teasing. He may have come here without conscious thought, but his desires are the same. And damned if Eichi isn't just about the only thing he wants at the moment.]

[Teasing, but he shifts on top of Dodger, lowering himself enough to kiss his collarbone, slower and pointed. He's even purposeful in the way he lets his body slide down him to do this, silk pajamas bunching up as he does.]

[Eichi is rewarded with a shaky breath, as he tips his head back and enjoys the feeling of his lips, his body. What a fucking tease.. he isn't stupid enough to think he'll really get anything tonight, but his body seems to rebel that logic and brace in anticipation anyway.]

...Then you can go fuck yourself. [He mutters, a hand reaching up to grip Eichi's hair a bit more harshly than he needs to.] I'm not begging for you.

[He's so smug, his tone and his smirk and the way he slides a little lower, letting the sheets bunch over his shoulders as he kisses down Dodger's chest slowly. He must not know his incredible and real thirst right now. Mm, but he also doesn't know he plans to leave soon, so.]

[His fingers slide into Eichi's hair, gripping it lightly to hold him in place while Dodger looks him over. Eichi wouldn't do something as cheap as just letting him have what he wants, would he?]

[He likes that hand in his hair, so the look he tosses up to Dodger is fiery and thirsty as hell. He wants Dodger here in order to sleep comfortably, yes, but he's been stuck in a hospital for a week, and this sort of attention is something he craves. He's tired of holding back.]

Are you going to leave me cold?

[Dodger is silent for a moment, before his body temperature rises a little bit more. Just enough to be like a heated blanket set to max.]

....If you get all the way down there and don't suck me off, I'm gonna knee you in the jaw.

[So, of course, he's gently leading Eichi's head lower.]

[ God, that is so cozy?? He smooths his hands more over Dodger's body to take in that warmth, dragging them down and hooking into the waist of his boxers to tug those down as well. He really is wanting this, it seems, and he presses a kiss to Dodger's hip. ]

[Dodger lets out a shaky breath he hadn't realized he was holding, as he watches Eichi go down. He props himself up on his elbow, his other hand still running fingers through Eichi's hair. And then gripping it lightly, trying to lead him back toward his dick. He's already mostly hard, just from the anticipation... it's been far too long for his liking, particularly since he hasn't been calling Khisanth back very often.]

Trust me, I'll tell you if you're doing a good job... [He huffs softly.] Just do it.

[ So he's this eager already. Eichi smiles at that, letting the boxers stay bunched at Dodger's thighs as his thin fingers wrap around the base of his cock. He strokes once or twice, slow and testing, before he leans in to lick up along the underside. It sounds like Dodger is already impatient, but Eichi feels like playing. That hand in his hair is just nice encouragement.

Kissing the tip, he lets out a little exhale before he opens his mouth to take him in. Slow, just the first part, tongue pressing up against it and swirling. He must have learned this somewhere because he's doing just fine. ]

[...Alright, Eichi is a fucking liar. He can see that now. There is absolutely no way he's never done this before.

Dodger lets out a quiet hiss, tipping his head to the side as he admires the sight. As much as he can't bring himself to appreciate idols.. he does appreciate how many people would kill to have Eichi feeling them up. Now if only he wasn't a teasing, mischievous little fuck, Dodger might feel lucky.

But alas, he ends up just frustrated at the pacing, but unwilling to force him too much in case he decides to back out. Instead his fingers continue to play with Eichi's hair, every once in a while twitching with the urge to shove into his mouth.]

Treating this like a performance, he adapts as he goes, teasing and taking his time, speeding up when he's worried he'll lose interest but slowing down again to make sure the detail he's putting into this is appreciated. He usually reserves talent like this for things like being an idol, but...

Fingers splay out over Dodger's stomach as he dips his head down again, but this time he takes him in considerably, and then slowly works up to take him the rest of the way. He hums as he goes, eyes closed for the most part in his focus, but occasionally opening to check where he is, and to flick up at Dodger to see that expression of his.

He's getting hard himself, honestly.

He wants to keep teasing, to see how far Dodger will put up with, how much he can almost give him everything as hard as he wants it but then pull back and wait. He tongues the slit when he's almost entirely off again, and then takes him in faster, bobbing his head a few times with genuine groans around him.]
