[It figures that Eichi would be into something like this... the man's full of surprises, and Dodger's really not sure how to handle him, but he should have seen this filthy-sweet treat coming.

He raises a brow as he looks the flavors over, and just shakes his head.]

No preferences. Just pick whatever you want and I'll share it.

[He'll just be grabbing a beer from the vending machine while Eichi gets something that is no doubt going to be too sweet for Dodger's tolerance.]

How boring.

[Honestly... meat is his favorite thing, but it's nice to have sweets once in a while. He thought the image of Dodger sharing a fancy crepe with him was pretty funny, one that he'd like to keep in his mind, and either finally using his own money or getting Dodger to spend more of his. It's fun either way.

What he decides on is a strawberry and blackberry mix. There's a scoop of some sort of pink gelato right in the middle with slices of the fruits on either side, and chocolate syrup swirled on top of it all.]

It's a combination you don't often see, right? Here, you have to try it first, since it's your first time. [Before they've even found some corner table or booth in this quiet little place, he holds it up to Dodger's face expectantly. This is what this date has become, Dodger, accept your fate.]

[In all honesty, he'd preferred the thinly veiled fighting to- this. The trace of bad feeling has grown into a small ball of ice in his stomach, seeing Eichi act so cute toward him. This was the sort of thing he'd wanted to avoid, the cute date things where everything was light and happy... where he feels distinctly stuck somewhere he doesn't belong.

It almost makes him want to shove the treat away, but he relents with some effort and lets Eichi hold it while he takes a bite, not seeing to mind the coldness of the gelato. Anything cold is nice to him, anyway... and the temperature takes a back seat to the sweetness of it, which has him making a vague face of dislike.]

....Not bad.

[All things considered. It's not something he'd pick for himself, but it's not bad.]

Not a weird combination, though. Something a New Englander would eat.

Fufu, but you made such a sour face just now, you'd think this was a crepe made with lemons.

[Pulling it back to himself, he tries a bite himself, a lot more sensitive of the temperature and trying to avoid too much of the gelato in one go. He wipes some of the excess from his upper lip with a finger of his free hand, laughing before he licks that clean, too.]

I can't eat it all by myself, so it would only be a shame if it's something you don't like. By the way, New England... that's actually a region in America, right? [He still insists on offering the crepe back to Dodger, but this time it's while he leads them to a seat.] Is that where you're from?

[Well.. if they're doing this, Dodger insists on his own small victory - he takes a seat first and pulls Eichi onto his lap, wrapping his arms loosely around his waist so he can't back out. It's like that that he'll take another bite, nodding as he chews before replying.]

Boston. Moved to New York City later on, but I was born in Boston. You?

[It's useless information, both because they aren't on earth and because he knows exactly fuck all about Japanese geography... but it means as much as Eichi knowing he's a Masshole.]

[But for Eichi, he's testing lines and patience, curious about what Dodger is and isn't okay with sharing. He's a little surprised by the sudden tug, reaching with his free hand to catch himself on Dodger's shoulder. Gosh. It really was him at the masquerade.]

A city in Japan that you likely won't recognize. [He says the name anyway, but there's no canon name, so god knows where it is. He leans the crepe at Dodger's face to smear some gelato on it, just enough to be his petty revenge for the sudden pull into his lap, and then takes a bite himself. Hmmmm.]

It's been many months since I've been there, though, so it feels so distant now.

[Eichi's right, the name means nothing - the only city he even knows the name of is Tokyo, and he couldn't place it on a map.

He lets out a little grunt of protest as Eichi presses the crepe into his face, because he can fully tell that was on purpose... but despite the sullen look he gives him his voice has no heat to it.]

What did I tell you about wasting food? Are you gonna lick that off or what?

[Worth a shot.]

Is it a waste? I think it suits you.

[ He is not licking it off!! But he will wipe a finger of his free hand over it to clean it off. He's so nice. ] By the way, I can't be responsible if you get any hate mail from my fans. The crowd of interest here is a little more expansive, so I don't know what type of people are interested in me, you know?

[That gets a smirk out of him, bitter as it may be, while he grabs a napkin to clean off the rest of it properly.]

I'm used to hate mail. In case you hadn't noticed.

[He's Jamie fucking Dodger. He could probably count the number of people he's met whose lives he hasn't ruined on one hand.]

As long as none of your fans actually manage to kill me, I'm probably good.

Nothing like that would happen, probably.

[ He licks it off his finger, though, rather pointedly. After that, he'll enjoy this crepe on his own, so Dodger can come take a bite himself if he wants more. ]

[In his home world he'd be more secretive about it, but it's common information to anyone who goes to the fourth floor. There's a door there that's always locked, that belongs to Dodger.]

If you're planning on a sleepover, though, it's happening on your floor.

[Eichi is much too smart to be trusted in his room... and not as easily distracted as Khisanth.]

So you do know where I live.

[ A bit unnerving, but he's still going to try to end up on top of all this. ]

I'm not planning on anything like that. I'm afraid if my neighbor saw you, he'd immediately attack, as well. So you should try your best to avoid my floor, really.

He leans over to take a bite from the crepe, getting used to the sweetness despite his better judgement.]

[ Sweet things are addicting, Dodger, be careful! ]

So then it makes even less sense to suggest that my room would be any meeting place. [ He chuckles. ] It isn't just Dodger-kun who likes to have information, you know. That's all.

[ He calmly takes another bite of the crepe, smiling still. ]

[He's not surprised by that, so it just gets a soft, annoyed exhale.]

Then I'll give you a fair warning - don't try getting into my room without permission.

[That may not be Eichi's intention, but Dodger doesn't plan to take chances with it.]

Someone paranoid like you must have an excessive security system.

[ He's just guessing but he's pretty sure. ] I don't want to die, so I don't plan on doing anything like that. [ He takes a bite of the crepe himself, and with maybe half of it finished, tries to hand it back off to Dodger. He's done!! ]

[That makes his brow twitch, because... yes, he does. Not quite as excessive as what he had in his home world, but the most elaborate security system he could build for the small space.

He'd nearly forgotten his dog was with them until Brink speaks up in his robotic voice.]

Would you like me to detail the security protocol?

Brink, shut the hell up.

Understood.

[Ugh... great. Now he'll have to monitor interactions between Eichi and Brink, knowing the dog might slip up and give him information.]

[ THE DOG CAN TALK? Eichi can't hide the surprise on his face at that, but after just a brief pause he's smiling again, brighter than before. He hands off the crepe more insistently so he can lean down to pet the dog. ]

So you can talk, Brink-kun? What a good dog. [ The dog has a dog... it makes him chuckle and he holds out a hand. ] Can you shake?

Sorry for not introducing myself, Eichi. I was asked not to speak unless specifically commanded to.

[Dodger just rolls his eyes, as Brink leads up to accept being petted and also raises a paw to shake.]

[ He shakes that paw, way too amused at all of this. A dog butler faulty enough to just share info, this is so convenient?? Eichi pats the top of his head. ] Brink is like "on the brink of war" or something, right, Brink-kun? Did Dodger-kun name you? That's so cute.

[Dodger raises a brow at that.. no doubt Eichi is planning something, but his contact information is public so he doesn't mind Brink giving this out.]

[ Finally, he leans back a little, satisfied with all the petting and no longer seeming to care at all that he's in Dodger's lap. ] If there's a promised second date, you'll need my contact information, right? Or do you already have that, as well? You see, it wouldn't end well if you were to simply appear at my door, so let's keep it safe.

[He leans back, giving Eichi a look of "I'm onto you" as he does.]

[Despite this alarming information, Eichi's better mood has him able to stay calm. Dodger doesn't seem to want to attack him after all, and he's quick to adapt to that sort of thing. So! He watches him, reaching a thumb to wipe at his face once more, like he missed some of that gelato from earlier.]

Do you also know where I work? Information like that isn't something I really hide, so I suppose it's there and in the open. You should come to one of my performances. Even Reaper-san has, you know. [These are not the things he should be sharing, and yet, sorry Reaper he's telling everyone.]

[He tips his head as Eichi touches him, leaning into the touch just a bit and relaxing at the touch. Just enough to silently welcome more of it.]

A fan gave me your network username - it's public information, after all. [He shifts his head slightly, just enough that Eichi's thumb ends up pressed to his bottom lip.] I haven't paid much attention to you... and I haven't seen Reaper go to your shows.

[He must have slipped past him.. he manages from time to time. After all, Dodger's teleportation isn't nearly as efficient as Reaper's cloud form. Though... he hasn't seemed to notice how much information he's let slip by mentioning it.]
