1. RESCUES IN THE ACIDIC RAIN.
[ Whenever Loki ventures out into the foul weather he conjures a green magical shield, the same he last used when Leah's construct was attempting to sever his head in Mother's dimension. Droplets that spatter all over it flash a pale lime-gold so that it appears he may be walking around in a glittery bubble, but the fact remains he only dons the protective enchantment to get from Point A to Point B; reaching outside of it is an unpleasant experience even for him.
That's how it starts, anyway.
He eventually finds himself an inadvertent taxi service for anyone caught in the downpour. Whether it's a person hunched down against an abandoned vendor's cart, someone shrieking in a panic as their tenth umbrella of the day turns to tatters, or reluctantly agreeing to ferry food from one household to another (no good deed is too menial for him this week) the God of Mischief is obliging to those in need.
But he doesn't decline any rewards for services rendered, either. ]
2. FIREFLY AT 2AM.
[ The magical shield also happens to glow in the dark, making it a point of interest for anyone with eyes who happens to spot Loki moving around the Quarantine like a mobile nightlight, along the streets and up the glassy walls of skyscrapers. Green orbs swish overhead and light his way as though streetlamps are bobbing along at his request.
If anyone wants one, they are free to shout him over from their hidey-hole. There's not much else to see out there that wanders around so casually in a corrosive downpour, let your curiosity take over. ]
3. A REAL BOAR OF A TIME.
[ With his spellcraft invulnerable to something as ordinarily challenging as acid rain for everyone else, one way or another word gets out about what Loki can do and he feels compelled to help some of the teams ranging out into the jungle intent on setting up their scientific dohickies. The most important turn of events, he feels, is that with his full-body bubbleshield there is no need for a fugly bodysuit, while on the flipside his permanent shimmer in the drab conditions mean that Loki is often requested to head up the front of a party.
When boars attack, the green glow of his shield is joined by the crimson glimmer of his ancestral blade Laevateinn, slashing down their beastly opponents in two or three nimble strikes. Curious why it doesn't take much more effort than that? Loki himself will shrug and tell you, ]
The blade cuts through any hide.
[ It can be intensely handy sometimes when people can bear to have such a dangerous thing around, much like Loki himself. Additionally, he provides marshmallows for those hard at work in the jungle. ]
4. DRAINED.
[ A near daily, constant use of sorcery has Loki on edge during rare moments, rubbing his head as he takes refuge in shops and under eaves of buildings when his headache worsens. He can be found with his feet up on overcast veranda benches, taking a break from supporting his own shield and the magical orbs loaned out across the city, tired-eyed and usually nibbling at a snack for an energy boost. Not that he needs to eat anything, it's more a comfort thing. Mental rousing.
Anyone who spots him will find he doesn't leave in a hurry when approached and those who depend on his magical orbs are free to call him up and find out why their rooms have suddenly gone dark. ]

[ Jason would have been shocked if Loki had ran. He was coming to find he was always right, he had good taste no matter what world. Okay maybe not always but this time it seemed so.
One of his eyebrows lifted before he stepped closer still, phone slipped in his back pocket and his hands going into his jacket pocket as he stopped just before Loki.]
Count me in, I love milk shakes, and a deserted mall sounds like to much fun to pass up.
[ He commented, he did need more clothes and a little shop lifting never bothered him. It didn't hurt anyone really.]
no subject
He offers an arm, gentleman-style. ]
Best if you stay close within my wards when we're in the rain, we don't want you to lose you around a street corner or whatever.
no subject
Take me away then, magic man.
no subject
All safe, see? [ The bubble even encloses their footsteps so no splashes attack their legs. Loki leans into Jason as they walk. ] You like it?
no subject
At the sound of Loki's voice he looked to the other, offering a playful grin when he felt Loki lean into him. ]
Oh hell yes, I like it. This is one hell of a power, Loki. [ He slipped his arm free of the other's and wrapped it around his shoulder to make the leaning easier.] Were you born with the magic, or did you learn it?
no subject
Back in the day I think it was a mix of both, but it's as easy for me as driving is for other people. Some ride in a variety of vehicles, I employ whatever magic I want.
no subject
Well, with that analogy in mind. I'll drive and you do the magic. [ A playful tone in his voice.]
Does it have ill effect? Like making you tired or draining your soul? Tell me to shut up if I'm asking to many questions.
no subject
From one extreme to the other, hm? It's like a big red button, you want to avoid pressing it for too long or you'll end up burning forever, mad with the power of it. A poke here and there, well, that doesn't matter. Tiny green and amber buttons.
no subject
I like my extreme's, what can I say. [ He replied easily.] The red button sounds like it would be more fun, mad with power and burning aside. But, your not telling me your burning yourself up are you?
no subject
[ Squeezing Jason's waist for comfort, he doesn't know whether it's to benefit Jason or himself. ]
Hey, you ... you trust me, don't you? To keep you safe from the rain, I mean. You do, right? So, why?
no subject
[ He was more forgiving when someone's last name wasn't Wayne. He'd gotten better at letting things go, and he really had no idea what Loki had done, he figured he was the last person who could judge mistakes anyway. At the question Jason shrugged a bit, but squeezed Loki's shoulders in a comforting way in return to the squeeze to his waist.]
The truth? I trust myself, when push comes to shove I know I can count on me. If this other me trusted you, than I'm going on a limb and accepting that, honestly so far I can say I see why I would like you. It's weird to think about it, but yeah, Loki, I trust you. But if you ever fuck me over or abuse that trust I will find a way to put you down.
no subject
I won't do that, don't worry. [ Still, he has to add, ] Never intentionally.
no subject
What was his life? ]
If it's not intentional I might forgive you, but fuck all of that for now. Were friends, I don't have many of those, so just be prepared for me to be a pain in the ass and probably mess this up before you could try. [ Maybe Roy would be proud of him, trying honesty for a change.]

[ All the way to the mall Loki tells Jason about magic whenever asked and questions him on the life of a vigilante when it's his turn. He doesn't push for more information whenever Jason sets a limit and ultimately leaves it down to him to share what he wants. The sound of his voice is as therapeutic as the rain.
When they come to the mall Loki points to the roof, which is how they will have to break in. ]
Up there, that's our own front door. I made it easier for myself after the first time.
[ Since Loki is an odd loner who enjoys entertaining himself in the mall when no one is around to tell him off. ]
no subject
Jay flashed a devilish smirk.]
Well that's convenient. Let's get going and have a bit of fun before the lights come back on.
no subject
[ He never strays too far from Jason when climbing their way into the mall and the green bubble surrounding them acts like a balloon, stretching and expanding until they make it inside and it can vanish with a twinkle.
Loki takes Jason's hand (his vision is better than a mortal's in the dark, what) and leads him through the back of a sports shop, out into the dark mall which they have all to themselves. ]
It's nicer when it's quiet, I think. All ours.
no subject
[ Jason was far to pleased with the whole situation, the bubble's protection was a god send for climbing up that building.
Once they were inside, and holding hands, (Tots logical god's see much better.) He follows along with Loki out of the sports shop. Utterly amused at the sight of the empty mall. It was like a candy store.]
Oh, your spoiling me. [ Bruce wouldn't approve of this, that made it so much more appealing.] Is there a leather shop in here? I think daddy needs a new pair of pants or two.
[ Jason, no.]
no subject
[ He swings their hands, nudging Jason as they walk. A flirtatious wink is aimed the vigilante's way. ]
You think I should get some? Maybe a cute jacket so I can give my shadowthread coat a rest when I'm not at work.
no subject
[ Jason would be the last to deny he loved the biker look, it fit his general aesthetic.
Walking beside Loki he offers a grin the others way his eyes scanning over him as best he could in the darkness. That wink made the grin widen as Jay knocked their shoulders together.]
Yes, I think you should. I think you'd be hotter in the right kinds of leather. Want to model for me?
no subject
[ Loki pivots mid-step to duck in and kiss him on the cheek, breaking away only to jog around the corner to the right store. He pauses by the security lock outside and sets to imputing codes that override the clearance, the indoor lights turning on as the shutters begin to rise.
With a look over at Jason, he laughs. ]
Computers are easy to fool, especially when they're not Starktech. After you?
no subject
[ Jason replied wigh a laughs, amused by it all. What was his life? Granted this was the most fun he'd had in weeks. He didn't have a chance to react to the little cheek kiss before he saw Loki dash off.
He stood back watching, taking note mentally to keep on Loki's good side. His face lit up as he made his way inside. It was a biker's paradice.]
That reminds me, you have to introduce me to your friend Stark one day.
[ He moved out. Inside looking over the clothes and designs. Pulling a redish jacket off the rack and pulling it on stretching his arms out and up to feel how it moved with him. ]
You like?
no subject
Loki nods at Jason's selection, tapping his chin thoughtfully. ]
Without the red helmet, yes, otherwise you might start looking like a walking traffic cone.
no subject
[ Jason turned to face Loki and then rolled his eyes. ]
I would not, I would be the hottest traffic cone around.
[ He kept the jacket on and moved to look around more.]
Let me know when your ready to model.
no subject
[ Loki shrugs out of his own coat, tossing it over a mannequin as he browses some much shorter, cropped jackets. Brown, black, green ... the latter he tries on in front of a mirror. ]
What do you think, does it bring out my eyes? [ He presses the back of a hand to his forehead, pretending to swoon. ] Tell me I'm a stunner.
no subject
[ Jay moves back around, a few things draped over his shoulders as he leaned in close to look in Loki's eyes the look him over.]
Oh yeah, it sure does, makes those eyes pop. Your getting that one.
