The kitchen is laid out with whatever (reasonable) refreshments one can imagine available within the quarantine, snacks and beverages to accommodate varying tastes spread across the kitchen island and counter tops. Enough seating for 20 (10 from the kitchen, 10 from the entertainment area) had been arranged around Chloe's display, however she chose to set it up - since it had been put on her as the tech savvy one between them to do the presentation.

New arrivals, whether they cared for the research and exploration party or not would easily find themselves surrounded by books, notebooks and other papers with various notations - all regarding Riverview, the history of the quarantine, rumors surrounding it and comparisons to other worlds that similarly pull people through portals. These are out in the open and free to browse, should one be so inclined.


[Anyone with relation to floor six is welcome to attend - resident, friend of resident, etc. If you're unsure whether or not your character would get an invitation please contact the player you have CR with. Should your character be the type to show up uninvited, feel free to crash. Pretty much anyone Ed has CR with would be notified, and he'll be making a public post on the network before this event actually takes place IC. Jason nodded, he understood that other worlds didn't have the same literature, and such. He offered the book Link's way. "The Count is a man pretending to be someone else, his real name is Edmond Dantès, he was framed by a group of people he once considered his friends, one wanted his position, another wanted his fiancee, and the other was just a dick. It's a good book, it's about revenge. Even if this isn't exactly how I remember it. Things have been changed." He added.

"That one is also good, it's a personal favorite. I haven't read it here yet though, every book seems slightly changed here."

Link took the book and flipped through it while listening to Jason. It seemed like an interesting read with the way Jason described it. Maybe he'd have to make time to look through the literature around this place.

"How did they change?" Link wasn't quite sure he understood what Jason meant. How do you make changes to a story that's already printed? "It's still the same story, isn't it?"

"Basically, Edmund isn't human in this version and he has telekenisis. It's kind of cool but still not the story I know. It's basically the same though just a little different. You can have it if you want man, I don't plan to read that one again."

He offered with a shrug. "I read a lot and I know the real story by heart."

"Thanks." Link would definitely take a look at it, though he couldn't promise getting through the whole thing.

"What did you do before ending up here? You must have a lot of time for reading back home." Link was a little envious of that. Granted, if he had been well read before the Calamity, he didn't have any memory of it.

"Don't mention it, just let me know if its not your taste once you get through part of it. I know all kinds of amazing books." He offered with a shrug.

At the question he shrugged a second time. "Special forces." Which was a complete lie, but it was the closest he could say to the truth without outing himself. "Basically I was a solider given important jobs no one else wanted. I can't really talk about it though. I've always been one to read though, since I was a boy and even now."

"I'll keep that in mind."

Link smiled at Jason's job description. "It sounds like a lot of what I did before I ended here." Though, Link more or less did jobs that others couldn't do rather than the jobs people just didn't want, though he done some odd jobs and gathered things for people as well. "It's hard for me to find what to do with myself here. Most of the people here don't seem to have very serious problems."

"Oh?" He questioned before nodding when Link explained. That made sense. "Do you work for the guard? I'm told they deal with that kind of stuff. That's why I took the job."

"No, but I was going to check it out." Link made air-quotes with his fingers. "How do you like it?"

The guides at his orientation had suggested the Guard to him, but he hadn't wanted to be tied to something he knew very little about.
