The kitchen is laid out with whatever (reasonable) refreshments one can imagine available within the quarantine, snacks and beverages to accommodate varying tastes spread across the kitchen island and counter tops. Enough seating for 20 (10 from the kitchen, 10 from the entertainment area) had been arranged around Chloe's display, however she chose to set it up - since it had been put on her as the tech savvy one between them to do the presentation.

New arrivals, whether they cared for the research and exploration party or not would easily find themselves surrounded by books, notebooks and other papers with various notations - all regarding Riverview, the history of the quarantine, rumors surrounding it and comparisons to other worlds that similarly pull people through portals. These are out in the open and free to browse, should one be so inclined.


[Anyone with relation to floor six is welcome to attend - resident, friend of resident, etc. If you're unsure whether or not your character would get an invitation please contact the player you have CR with. Should your character be the type to show up uninvited, feel free to crash. Pretty much anyone Ed has CR with would be notified, and he'll be making a public post on the network before this event actually takes place IC. "Yeah, you could say that," Keith said. "We got back into it again and expanded space exploration into something called the Galaxy Garrison. We were preparing for potentially meeting other life, I think. Though, they still firmly denied any aliens." Keith just frowned at that. The denials were pretty annoying to him, but he wasn't going to get into that with Nico.

"As a rule, we haven't done much space exploration past Pluto and its moon, Kerberos," he said. "But, a few of us sort of ended up dealing with aliens and I'm sure the Garrison fashioned up some stupid bland story about how we all got killed in some training accident."

Well, except him... just Pidge, Hunk, and Lance. But, again, he wasn't going to bring that up here.

"Pluto..." The mention of the pseudo-planet prompted a slight smile from him. He remembered how much his father had ranted about it being downgraded from a planet to something considered smaller, and how it just showed how much flak he continued to get. Hades always was a bit grumpy that way, but Nico figured it had to do with their family fatal flaw.

But that was neither here nor there. He was more interested in hearing about aliens and how Keith met them. "So you met real aliens. Like from a UFO?" he asked, eyes wide as he munched on more chips. "That's pretty cool. Are they nice or like... the body snatcher kind?"

"Well, yeah. I guess from a UFO," Keith said, looking mildly amused. "Though, we kind of went out there and met them instead of them coming to us." Mostly. The Galra had come to their system, at least, looking for the Blue Lion, but they hadn't actually landed on Earth as a conquering force. Keith's ancestor seemed to be the exception there.

"But, we've met a mix of good people and bad people," he continued. "Some of them have been really great. Others have been selfish and stuff. And then there are some who are just... well, bad. Like, evil." He shrugged. "I guess it's a pretty normal mix like we'd have just on Earth."

"Wow!" Nico exclaimed, hearing all this. It was amazing to think of the universe so vast when he'd thought his own world was already so expansive. The Fates knew how many gods, demigods, and monsters existed out there, and Nico wondered if they knew about what existed in the universe beyond their blue planet. It was a bit mind-boggling.

"It definitely sounds a bit like Earth. Have you ever come across alien demigods?" he asked, tilting his head with curiosity.

"Alien... demi-what?" Keith looked confused. "Uh, no. I haven't, I don't think. I mean, I've met aliens who seem to think they're gods, but they aren't." Zarkon could probably be lumped into that category. Though, Keith wasn't exactly sure what Zarkon thought of himself, only that he was pretty darn powerful and in charge of a massive empire that spanned almost the entire known universe... did that count as a demigod? Keith was pretty sure not.
