i. parkour like you mean it

[ Steve has made his own routine since coming to Riverview, and part of his exercise regimen is taking a run around the city near the housing building. He just happens to do it by taking the high road. If anyone happens to look up (or be on the rooftop of a building enjoying the sights) they could catch sight of the man running at full speed, using the balconies and awnings to create a path all his own. If they make eye contact, Steve will even wave!

They might also happen to see him fall. With the flying beasts still here and there and Steve certainly not about to let that deter him, he inevitably gets knocked off of a ledge as he's fending them off. Falling seems to be a constant in his life. ]

ii. Prijata time

[ Steve has given out some gifts to his friends, and if you happen to be one of them, he has handed those out in person whenever he can. He'll be tracking people down in order to check up with them as well, since that's his way of celebrating friendship on the weird moon.

For people that he doesn't know well, he's still going to do what he can to share some Prijata spirit. He's offering to do sketches for people of things and friends they miss from home, as well as some group shots of new friends they have met in the city. This is more practice he's gotten in art for a long time now, and he seems happy to get back to it. If he notices someone standing off by themselves, he goes up to them with a small bag of local candy or fried snack from a nearby vendor that he's gotten attached to. Making friends is a celebration he can get behind. ]

Are you hungry? I think I got too much.

iii. Hanging with friends

[ When he isn't playing building platformer, Steve goes jogging on the normal streets. He likes company, so if people have expressed interest in the past, he invites them to join him. He might wake the late sleepers up if he knows they are planning on an early morning jog with him, or he'll wave at other people out when he's taking his laps and head toward them.

Later in the day, he's training. Either at one of the gyms or in the park, enjoying the sunlight. If anyone around is up for sparring or a friendly competition, Steve will happily take them on. Even on their terms, because he likes learning new things. When he's actually taking a break, he finds people who are doing their own outdoor activities and having fun so he can watch them, maybe learn something about a new sport?

Or, if he's lucky, someone can show him a better way to get around besides running everywhere. The city is big. ]

[So here's one Victor von Doom, minding his own business and taking a nice little peaceful stroll when out of the corner of his eye, he spots Steve doing his parkour thing. No big deal, nothing Doom needs to bother himself with, just keep walking. Doom does not need to spend time being friendly with every hero.

Fate, of course, has other plans and whoops, there goes one Captain America and now Doom has to actually do something. He doesn't go swooping in to save him, oh no. Instead he snaps his fingers and summons something to catch his fall. Like a large landing mat. Good deed done, he starts to turn away before stopping. Right, he's a hero now. Time to walk over and see if he's okay.]

I hope you're aware that there's these things called sidewalks and streets you can use to traverse around this place.

[Steve does try to catch himself on the way down. He tries several times in fact, leaving a trail of broken poles and bent balcony railings in his wake as he tumbles down from the roof. As he falls, he turns to right himself like a cat, twisting around in an effort to keep from falling on his head. But he's not expecting the soft landing mat to appear under him. He still manages to land properly on it, only because his reflexes are sharp enough for the change. When Doom strolls over, Steve doesn't know whether he really means well or just wanted to gloat.]

Sometimes I don't have time to take the long way around. And I want to be familiar with all sides of the city.

[He climbs off of the mat to face his rescuer, still trying to get a read on Doom's expression.]

You caught me.

[There might be a question buried somewhere in those words.]

It might be a good idea for you to get some sort of back up to catch you if you lose your grip.

[Despite having worn a mask for all those years, Doom has an amazing poker face. He's giving nothing away.]

I did. Do you have a problem with that?

I'll be all right.

[Never mind that he fell and nearly landed hard without Doom's help. He could have been badly hurt, but that's Steve's life. He's gotten so used to it that walking it off is his default response.

He seems to hesitate before answering the question. There's no uncertainty or fear in Steve's eyes, but as he looks the other man over, he doesn't readily speak up to confirm or deny anything at first.]

Not really. I didn't expect it.

[In the end, Steve gives Doom honesty. He's earned it.]

That I won't dispute. I've fought you enough times to know that you'll keep going.

[The only upside of being a villain: knowing that heroes are insanely stubborn and just won't stop even if their bodies say no.]

Not surprising, considering the type of person I was.

[He has to pause for a moment, thinking over his words in his mind.]

I appreciate that you didn't assume the worst of me. Or at least didn't accuse me of anything.

[ Steve nods at the assessment. They've fought plenty of times and Steve realizes that Doom is making a completely fair judgment of that relationship. He accepts it as a straightforward approach, because Doom doesn't need to play mind games to deal with him.

After the pause, Steve shrugs. ]

There's nothing to assume. If you wanted to do something, you'd do it. I don't really understand why you're doing things this way, but if you're working with us, then I can work with you.

[ After all, he's trying to give the Lokis that much effort. He should at least extend as much of a chance to Doom. ]

What kind of a person are you now?
