[open] How long will I slide?
who: Steve Rogers (616) and anyone!
what: Hopping rooftops and attempting relaxation. How does Steve "fun"?
when: June 12th-17th
where: Around Riverview in various places.
warnings: None
i. parkour like you mean it
[ Steve has made his own routine since coming to Riverview, and part of his exercise regimen is taking a run around the city near the housing building. He just happens to do it by taking the high road. If anyone happens to look up (or be on the rooftop of a building enjoying the sights) they could catch sight of the man running at full speed, using the balconies and awnings to create a path all his own. If they make eye contact, Steve will even wave!
They might also happen to see him fall. With the flying beasts still here and there and Steve certainly not about to let that deter him, he inevitably gets knocked off of a ledge as he's fending them off. Falling seems to be a constant in his life. ]
ii. Prijata time
[ Steve has given out some gifts to his friends, and if you happen to be one of them, he has handed those out in person whenever he can. He'll be tracking people down in order to check up with them as well, since that's his way of celebrating friendship on the weird moon.
For people that he doesn't know well, he's still going to do what he can to share some Prijata spirit. He's offering to do sketches for people of things and friends they miss from home, as well as some group shots of new friends they have met in the city. This is more practice he's gotten in art for a long time now, and he seems happy to get back to it. If he notices someone standing off by themselves, he goes up to them with a small bag of local candy or fried snack from a nearby vendor that he's gotten attached to. Making friends is a celebration he can get behind. ]
Are you hungry? I think I got too much.
iii. Hanging with friends
[ When he isn't playing building platformer, Steve goes jogging on the normal streets. He likes company, so if people have expressed interest in the past, he invites them to join him. He might wake the late sleepers up if he knows they are planning on an early morning jog with him, or he'll wave at other people out when he's taking his laps and head toward them.
Later in the day, he's training. Either at one of the gyms or in the park, enjoying the sunlight. If anyone around is up for sparring or a friendly competition, Steve will happily take them on. Even on their terms, because he likes learning new things. When he's actually taking a break, he finds people who are doing their own outdoor activities and having fun so he can watch them, maybe learn something about a new sport?
Or, if he's lucky, someone can show him a better way to get around besides running everywhere. The city is big. ]

[ That's a guy falling. Huh. How about that.
Cain's really just minding his own business nearby, futzing with a laptop and taking in the atmosphere (only slightly tense now that the bird creatures are fewer in number and people just get used to things way too quickly, it seems) when he notices something in his peripherals. Looking up, he catches someone darting across a rooftop and then darting off one. Well, he was pushed, really, and ain't that something.
There's not a lot he can actually do? He's a quick thinker but he just has a laptop and a good seat for the show. Maybe he should work on some kind of utility belt but that's really pushing it. So instead of being useful, he walks over to the eventual touchdown area, computer under his arm, and checks on him. He knows this guy, turns out, and there's some actual concern now. ]
You still alive?
no subject
Didn't see that one coming.
[ Because it's no big deal, right? Men falling from the sky is totally a weekly event. ]
no subject
At least Cain offers a hand to help Steve up. It's only polite. ]
You didn't? They were right there. You do that often?
no subject
They were banking off when I came up. I didn't think it would have the guts to try that.
[ Spoken like a cat that judged a jump and fell short. He meant for that to happen. ]
If you mean take this route around, yeah. I do it every day. I'm not going to let a few toothy buzzards stop me.
no subject
Well, that's animals for you. Something happens enough it's deemed normal and safe to try something.
You just like the scenic view?
no subject
They'll learn not to try it again when I go back up.
[Because he's totally going to punch some flying monsters.]
It lets me get a better look of the city and it's good exercise. When I'm not being attacked by the wildlife, it's even peaceful.
no subject
Because you totally could have fought them if they hadn't caught you off guard.
[ ... that doesn't mean he won't tease. ]
I'll take your word for it. Don't think those birds would take too kindly to anyone else trying it, anyway.

[ Steve has the attitude of a cat that missed a leap to a counter. He might be bruised and moving stiffly, but he carries himself with the confidence that he won't miss the next time. He smirks, blue eyes catching Cain's gaze with the bright shine of pride he lives by. That's how he makes it as a hero after all. He can fight his way through anything. ]
Probably not. All the more reason to scare them away from their roost. You don't look worried. Are you okay coming out here by yourself? What if they decide to fly low?
no subject
[ Yeah, he's just teasing at this point. That kind of look in his eyes deserves some respect; Cain recognizes it, even if he knows he's never had it himself. Steve doesn't seem like the type to have that sort of pride in vain. ]
I'll duck? Honestly, I just couldn't take it hanging out inside the whole time anymore.
no subject
[ Steve sounds almost playful and just a bit smug, because he's ready to knock some flying predators out of the sky. He enjoys it. The fight when it's in good taste gives him a thrill. Being knocked down and hurt? That's just motivation. ]
Good to know you're confident. Can you fight them, or are you planning on lying low?
no subject
[ Yeah, after seeing him take that fall, Cain doesn't doubt it. ]
Laying low, mostly. I don't have a gun or anything so fighting them off isn't going to be easy.
no subject
[ Steve grins. He's enjoying this more than he probably should be. ]
That's more reason for me to clear them out, then. You shouldn't have to watch your back every time you go outside.
no subject
[ He's teasing, in actuality. Steve looks like he wants to give out some payback. ]
It'd be appreciated but I'm fine overall. I'll live.
no subject
You'll live, but your safety and security is important. That's my responsibility.
no subject
[ Ha. Because what are you gonna fight with? Fists? Please let it be fists, he wants to see that. ]
Just don't go too far out of your way.
no subject
[ Steve doesn't even blink at the criticism. He's used to relying on his fists and doesn't even think he might need more than he has. ]
It's my job. I don't think it can be out of my way.
no subject
[ Cain shrugs at that. ]
So even if you're off the clock?
no subject
[ The way he says that makes it sound like being a hero is an actual vocation. ]
Helping out when others can't is the nature of the job. I might not have the same routine here, but if there are monsters flying around, I'll help out.
