[open] How long will I slide?
who: Steve Rogers (616) and anyone!
what: Hopping rooftops and attempting relaxation. How does Steve "fun"?
when: June 12th-17th
where: Around Riverview in various places.
warnings: None
i. parkour like you mean it
[ Steve has made his own routine since coming to Riverview, and part of his exercise regimen is taking a run around the city near the housing building. He just happens to do it by taking the high road. If anyone happens to look up (or be on the rooftop of a building enjoying the sights) they could catch sight of the man running at full speed, using the balconies and awnings to create a path all his own. If they make eye contact, Steve will even wave!
They might also happen to see him fall. With the flying beasts still here and there and Steve certainly not about to let that deter him, he inevitably gets knocked off of a ledge as he's fending them off. Falling seems to be a constant in his life. ]
ii. Prijata time
[ Steve has given out some gifts to his friends, and if you happen to be one of them, he has handed those out in person whenever he can. He'll be tracking people down in order to check up with them as well, since that's his way of celebrating friendship on the weird moon.
For people that he doesn't know well, he's still going to do what he can to share some Prijata spirit. He's offering to do sketches for people of things and friends they miss from home, as well as some group shots of new friends they have met in the city. This is more practice he's gotten in art for a long time now, and he seems happy to get back to it. If he notices someone standing off by themselves, he goes up to them with a small bag of local candy or fried snack from a nearby vendor that he's gotten attached to. Making friends is a celebration he can get behind. ]
Are you hungry? I think I got too much.
iii. Hanging with friends
[ When he isn't playing building platformer, Steve goes jogging on the normal streets. He likes company, so if people have expressed interest in the past, he invites them to join him. He might wake the late sleepers up if he knows they are planning on an early morning jog with him, or he'll wave at other people out when he's taking his laps and head toward them.
Later in the day, he's training. Either at one of the gyms or in the park, enjoying the sunlight. If anyone around is up for sparring or a friendly competition, Steve will happily take them on. Even on their terms, because he likes learning new things. When he's actually taking a break, he finds people who are doing their own outdoor activities and having fun so he can watch them, maybe learn something about a new sport?
Or, if he's lucky, someone can show him a better way to get around besides running everywhere. The city is big. ]

I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity
It came in faster than I expected. Can you stand up? We're going to have to move you to a hospital before they come down for round two.
[ He's already leaning over him, ready to protect Tony from the flock of predatory creatures ready to dive down on them by shielding him with his own body. ]
Never mind. Just stay still.
[ The look in Steve's eyes says he's ready to leap up and tackle the first of the beasts that is brave enough to fly within his range in order to defend his injured friend. ]
hdu with that. rood.
not that the endeavor lasts long with one Steve Rogers hovering over him like some kind of human force field of protective justice.
there is a twinge, momentarily, where Tony wants to laugh because of the familiarity of it all, how he missed this side of Steve being directed at him, but it is gone because the damned flying monkeys were still on the hunt and where is his armour? he would have time to really think on that later.
clapping Steve on the shoulder, Tony shifts on the ground, peering over the bulk of Steve to get a look at the beasts, calculating.
they were getting a little too close for Tony to say that there was no chance of them attacking, but they also hadn't settled in on the first display of weakness so...]
Uh huh, because staying still is something I am just great at, right. [ another look over his shoulder, mentally calculating how long it would take for Steve to roll and punch the first one stupid enough to get too close. then, there is a familiar noise in the distance. he grins at Steve. ] No need to worry about me, Winghead, the suit is almost here. You wanna leave these flying monkeys alone, or try and get them out of the housing area?
[ he knows the answer, but he thought to ask anyway. ]
I'll colour me blue anything it takes to
Tony's hand on his shoulder snaps Steve out of the tense preparation to attack. He relaxes slightly, anger fading when he hears the humor in Tony's voice and that familiar name, something that surprises him because it's been so long. He doesn't rise from his crouch, but he does let Tony pull himself up, offering support. ]
Well, we can't just let them hang around here. Someone's bound to get hurt.
[ He gives Tony a quick assessing look before nodding, deciding that even with the cracked rib Iron Man is good to go. If it were worse, he might insist on Tony staying under cover, but he's seen the man fight through worse. ]
Suit up. I'll keep them busy for now.
[ And then he's up, leaping to the lowest balcony and pulling himself up as he starts climbing right back up floor by floor toward the flying beasts. They are surprised to have the man coming back at them, and by the noises they make not too happy about it, but Steve chases them back to the roof leaving Tony to manage his armor. ]
swore I'd never lose control [then I fell in love with a heart that beats so slow]
humming in agreement with Steve's assessment, he moves carefully, with the blond's help, until he is no longer on the ground.] I will back you up in a moment there, try to leave me some fun will you?
[ there is another wry smile as Steve takes off, climbing the building easily as the armour finally lands next to Tony. the red and gold closes around him and it becomes so easy to ignore the ache in his chest as he takes off, coming up just behind Steve.]
Race you to the monkey's then? Last one there is the Wicked Witch.
[ because why not. ]
no subject
He hears the tell-tale hum of Tony's armor flying up next to him, and he turns, hanging off of one of the building's windows as he sees the red and gold figure hovering below him. ]
If you think you can keep up. I don't want you to sprain anything.
[ Steve grins, then drops from the window sill onto the armor's shoulders, kicking off and using Tony to get a boost up to the next balcony so he can use that to keep climbing. ]
no subject
yeah, it was on.
with a burst of the repulsors, Tony comes up beside Steve, armour still facing forward, and holds out an arm.]
I'm not the guy who is living off retirement cheques, Steve. I don't have your walker with me, but you want a ride?
no subject
As long as you're offering, yeah. Bet those birds have never seen anything like this before.
no subject
[ it is second nature to accommodate for Steve, to hold him against the armour and move up easily. second nature and familiar and as much as the suit and Steve might weigh, Tony feels lighter than he has in years as the move up towards the creatures, hesitation in their movements as the two rocket towards them.]
You got a score to settle with any ones in particular, or split 'em even?
no subject
The flying creatures cry, balking at the sudden intrusion. Steve pats the armor's shoulder. ]
Me and the big one with the spot on his head have a talk to finish. But you can take a few.
no subject
[ it is a casual aside, the repulsors in his one gauntlet whining as he powered it up. he might not be aiming to kill, more to get them the hell out of here, but it is easy and natural to slide into snide comments when it is him and Steve.
as they approach the flock, Tony shifts to make it easier for Steve to volly off of him and into the fray, his armour already shifting to help give the soldier a boost as he fires off a shot to divide the monsters.]
