i. experiment
After his call for volunteers, Doom had spent his time looking for a place to do his little experiment without any worry of people thinking a brawl had broken out. Once he had found a place, some little clearing out in the abandoned area, he had set up a few magical precautions to keep himself safe before contacting those that had expressed interest in assisting him. One at a time, of course, since he really didn't want them all to show up and decide on a free-for-all since that would ruin the entire point of this whole experiment. Whenever people start to finally arrive, Victor himself was standing there, looking very out of place in his nice suit and seemingly unarmed. Not that he really seems to care about how he appears.

"Are you ready to get started or would you like a moment to get ready?"

ii. iron man
It didn't really matter that Tony Stark was here and not in a coma. Victor was Iron Man now and he was going to hold onto that for as long as he possibly could. Until the inevitable showdown, he was going to be patrolling around in his own Iron Man armor, both flying and walking. Every so often, he'd stop and help someone out before heading back on his way, trying to make as little of scene as possible as he could while wearing intimidating armor and a cloak. He's not doing this for recognition, after all, instead trying to not be selfish while wearing the armor. He has a legacy to uphold and he will not tarnish it, especially not now.

[ because you are wearing a cape, with a high tech suit of armour. why wouldn't people make fun of you for that? aren't capes like a thing reserved for Thor and shitty '90's villain-- oh wait.

Tony mirrors the look, not caring the Doom clearly out powers him at this point in time; he is banking on his righteous fury to see him through whatever the fuck might come next. only it doesn't, not really because what Doom is saying makes very very little sense to him.

Doom is... Iron Man? that sounds like something that came out of a terrible movie. a nightmare or something. Tony halts a little, eyes narrowing as he processes what he is being told.]

You are Iron Man now. Right, because I would so give that title to you, no matter how much help you have been in the past. [ Tony won't deny that you have been a help, Victor, but he really doesn't see you getting close enough to be called Iron Man any time soon.]

What about RiRi, wouldn't she be the next Iron Man? [ also, wait, his AI back up, that means--- well shit. Tony doesn't take a step back but his face twitches, something fading in his gaze.]

Danvers goes all out then, does she?

[Doom lets out a huff of laughter. Like he would go to Tony for his permission or blessing or whatever it is heroes do when someone else takes their title.]

You didn't give it to me, I took it and the closest to a response from you was "please don't". [The AI counts as Tony, right?]

Miss Williams prefers to call herself Ironheart instead. Besides, she doesn't think of herself as being in charge of your legacy.

[He put the pieces together. Good, that made things easier since he doesn't have to explain everything. And gives him an idea about when Tony arrived from.]

It appeared that way. You didn't die, but you're not waking up any time soon.

[ yeah well excuse him for thinking you might not just decide you were Iron Man or something. sure there is the little dig at him when you mention emulating him but-- whatever. it was what it was. at least Tony knows that you are still completely insane despite it all.

the genius still isn't pleased about this revelation though. or the fact that Doom just admits to taking his tech.]

I feel like the please was more than you deserve to be honest. Wondering why I didn't put some kind of self destruct coding in it somewhere, maybe that is something that I should look into now.

[ it is said lightly, but Tony still has his eyes on Doom. at least Riri is fine, he liked her and didn't want her to carry on his legacy anyway. she was bright enough to carve her own. still--

Tony tamps down on his fury for a little while longer, in the name of information.]

So not dead, just a coma. Perfect that sounds great. Good to know that she at least goes all out for what she believes in.

[ there is another question on the tip of his tongue, about Miles, about Steve, but he snaps his mouth shut against them. ]

[This is Doom, he steals whatever he damn well pleases. Even the name Iron Man. And he didn't steal your tech, Tony. He's not that desperate. He can make his own suit with his own tech.]

You wouldn't be saying that if you knew everything that's happened, Stark. Besides, I made this armor myself. I don't need to steal your tech when mine is superior to begin with.

[He's only willing to give so much information, not to mention he only knows so much to begin with.]

That would be what you take from this.

[ see, you say you didn't need to steal his tech, but then you say you steal what you want. maybe you should get better at lying to yourself there, Doom. its okay, Tony understands that he is better at tech than you, it is fine to admit it alright.

That-- implies that somehow things get worse than me being in a coma and that really does not at all bode well. I take it you won't elaborate either, about what happens or how you managed to steal all that.

[ you stole it and Tony is going with that until proven otherwise okay.]

What else am I supposed to take from this? Would you rather I despair because I am really not into that, sorry. Not dead here, so there is that.
