[ That sweet touch and concerned lookover she gets just makes her want to hug Lucretia even more, and she slings her arms over the other woman and squeezes her close. ]
(Lucretia can't imagine she looks any different but that doesn't stop her from returning the hug with similar gusto. It's easy to relax into Lup's familiar embrace. She feels better already when she leans back, but the attempt to mirror Lup's enthusiastic smile falls pretty flat.)
Holding up, (she echoes, and sighs. Mostly she just looks exhausted.) Beverly's still in the hospital.
Um, (Lucretia says, and pauses, because her voice has gone kind of funny and tight. She clears her throat.)
I don't know. I was asked to leave the hospital; there's too much of a drain on resources to accommodate all the visitors. They said they'll let me know if anything changes.
(She nods, closing her eyes for a moment as she forces herself to take a breath. Lup is right. Worrying pointlessly isn't going to do anything for either of them; she's going to be fine. She's Beverly, she's... tenacious.)
Okay. (She steps back, gesturing for Lup to follow her inside.)
I suppose I should show you around, then. You're my first visitor since I moved in here.
[ Lup follows, curiously glancing around. Shitty circumstances aside, it was interesting to see how their place looked. Being the first visitor was pretty badass, too.
Next time Beverly better be there, too.]
Have you spilled any paint yet? That's usually how you break in most places.
But yes, I have. (She'd left it there too, a green smudge on Beverly's living room wall, down by the skirting. Like a little memento. Agatha the kitten is lazing on the couch; she stretches luxuriously, and does not get up to greet either of them.
Lucretia peers underneath of the coffee table.)
There's two of them, but the other one doesn't like me very much. I think she's still mad I took her spot in the bed– Agatha is over there, though.
[ She's laughing a little, smiling back at Lucretia while she gently gives Agatha a little pet. That bright smile makes Lup look a lot less like a mess, and she stands up once her friend offers the big tour, brushing back her white hair behind a long ear. ]
The kitchen is pretty cute, (she admits, and links her arm comfortably through Lup's to tug her away from Agatha and into the kitchen/dining room. It's neatly separated; there's a half wall that divides it, where Lucretia loves to stand in the mornings with her elbows up, drinking coffee and watching Beverly cook.)
Oh, before I forget– could you maybe teach me a couple of staple recipes or something? I want to be impressive.
[ Lup grins as she sees the little split situation they got going on, and leans over to peer at the kitchen with a curious smile. It was perfect for two people (who where not chefs).
Hearing her ask about recepies, Lup's smile widens even more and she grabs Lucretia's hand. ]
Definitely! I can totally set you up with some easy things.
Isn't it? Obviously Beverly has more reign over it, but– well, I'd like to know how to help out more.
(Too many times she's beat Beverly home and simply reheated leftovers, or thrown together something undoubtedly mediocre. Beverly is very nice, and eats what she makes, but Lucretia knows it isn't anything like her eating Taako or Lup's food. Far from it.)
