You sure are! It's depressing sometimes! Good thing you have me an' Comakara to help keep you on the right track!

[He snorts, and it makes him cough for a minute, but doesn't wind him like the last round, at least.]

Comakara. And who cares if I'm depressing, jeez. Totty used to complain about that all the time. Popping bubble paper is cathartic, damn it.

[that makes him laugh. he's glad they're having a somewhat normal conversation here]

Right, right. [grin. sounds like the kitties are nearby] I'm just givin' you a hard time. 'cause you won't have t'deal with me whenever you go into the coma. I gotta make it count!

[That makes his shoulders tense again and he circles to the spare bedroom where he's got all his cat stuff in a series of plastic drawer organizers (litter, food, toys, treats, the works, all organized meticulously) and four bowls, color-coded to the collars on the kittens. The last one is blue, the same specific shade of the odd glasses-like marking across ESP Kitty's face.]

[He sits in a crouch on the floor once he's got one of the bags of food out and rustles the top of it, listening until the rushing patter of feet and jingling of bells on collars signifies the kitten's rush for feeding.]

...um, if I'm out for a long time, just... make sure they get fed twice a day, if you don't mind.

[so many kitties! Osomatsu watches to see how he does things. Ichimatsu's so organized, too, it's incredible]

Twice a day... Got it. [he hopes that Ichi isn't out for more than a day. his own coma only lasted 24 hours]

[He's a little bit obsessive compulsive about things. And the cats are really important to him. The process is simple enough, though-- he puts just enough in each bowl that the bottoms of them are covered, and somehow each cat seems to know which bowl to eat from. They all wait patiently until their bowls are filled, periodically yowling like they're starving (they aren't), and Ichimatsu tuts softly at them before putting the food away.]

Other than that, um... Just, water in the little fountains. There's two in here and another two out in the main room. They cycle the water automatically, just don't let them dry up. It'd take a while, since they're pretty big...

[huh... Osomatsu nods, remembering that he's seen the fountains a couple times, but didn't know how they worked. he'll keep a watchful eye out for them.

phew. it's a lot to imagine, taking care of two sick brothers and all these cats. he's feeling overwhelmed, but the relaxed smile stays on his face. he crouches down to pet one of the cats]

[At least once comatose neither of them are much to worry about, other than... making sure they're breathing, and stuff. Yikes. Ichimatsu takes to mindlessly petting another of the cats, eyes unfocused while he runs his mind in circles trying to remember if there's anything else he wouldn't be able to do that he'd need done.]

...the plants should be fine, I'll go water them in a minute.

[Ichimatsu please just rest.]

...Ichimacchan. Shouldn't you get some sleep? I can water your plants.

[nyahilistic]

[He grumbles softly, hugging the bag of cat food to himself almost unconsciously.]

...if I go to sleep, I might not wake up, though.

[Osomatsu's smile wavers, but he rubs his finger under his nose to distract himself]

Yeah, maybe. But at least you'd be lying down comfortably when it happens.

[nyahilistic]

Mmmnh, [He hugs the cat food another moment and then shakes his head, getting up and putting it away.]

No, I'll be fine... I can water the plants.

... [sighs! Ichimatsu's going to work himself to death at this rate]

Fine, fine. I'll help, at least.

[nyahilistic]

[He's just freaked out, he'll settle when he's run out of things to do. Maybe.]

[He pets each of the cats methodically, a specific number of times that he seems to count in his head, stroking down their spines and then patting their heads or their backs gently before moving to the next until he's pet them all, and then stands, curling and uncurling his hands into loose fists for a moment before wandering toward the door and eventually, the odd stairs that lead to a hatch in the ceiling to take them to the roof. He moves slowly, but carefully, taking the stairs folded over like he's walking on all fours.]

[Osomatsu follows closely, just to make sure he's around to catch Ichimatsu if he stumbles. he's watching for signs that the younger is exhausting himself. this is sad, but Osomatsu is grateful just to spend time with Ichimatsu before... before whatever's going to happen happens]

[He shows him any difficult plants-- most of them are pretty straight forward, water in the dirt where they grow, pinch off dead leaves if there are any. He waters all that need it and pokes his fingers in the soil of all of them to check, idly mentioning that if it's not soft and damp they could use some water.]

[Osomatsu was only out for 24 hours, maybe that's all it is. Maybe Karamatsu will wake up, and then he'll pass out, and then he'll wake up again like it was just a really long nap. The word "coma" keeps scaring his breath into sharp rattling inhales, though.]

[He sits down in the greenhouse when he's watered everything, knees drawn to his chest and a frown set on his face that he's trying to keep muted.]

...I feel really dumb for being scared.

[after they've watered the plants, Osomatsu takes a seat beside Ichimatsu. he also draws his legs up to his chest, wraps his arms around them and rests his chin on his knee]

...It is scary. Maybe I should take ya both to the hospital.

[nyahilistic]

[He whines softly, shaking his head.]

I'll take Karamatsu with you, but I can't stay, you know how I hate needles...

[relieable]

[mmm... Osomatsu shrugs and sighs deeply. he didn't need to go to the hospital, he thinks his brothers should be fine, but... he doesn't know?]

Guess we'll just survive without one. But... if you're out for more than three days, I'm gettin' a doctor.

[nyahilistic]

[He quirks his mouth, nodding and hugging his knees.]

That... sounds fair, I guess.

[relieable]

[he also nods, then closes his eyes and reaches over to rub Ichimatsu's head again] It'll be okay. Don't be scared. Big brother'll be here.

[nyahilistic]

[Their age hierarchy was always kind of stupid to him, but... Never in the case of Osomatsu. He was always and unshakably the oldest, always looking out for them, and always the one who knew what to do. Even days from turning twenty-five, a damn fucking adult by all intents and purposes, Ichimatsu was glad for the support of his older brother. He leans into his hand.]

...I mean, I'm an enormous baby so I'm probably gonna be scared anyway, but. Thanks.

[they're all enormous babies in some fashion. Ichimatsu's not going to be judged now. if things were less serious, then, yeah, Osomatsu might have given him a hard time. he likes to push Ichimatsu out of his comfort zone!

but right now, all he can be is supportive. or, at least, he's trying to be. he'll sit out here for as long as Ichimatsu wants, simply attempting to comfort him]

[He's doing plenty, really. Just by sticking with him, following him to feed the cats and water the plants. Giving him something to do, but keeping him company. But now he's starting to get tired, and he hates it, but he knows he shouldn't be up on the roof like this. He frowns.]

...ah, but... probably shouldn't leave Karamatsu unattended for too long. Just, in case he wakes up or somehow moves in his coma so he can't breathe anymore like an idiot.
