[ Genji manages a small smile at the kiss as he burrows more into his blankets. He's only shivering a little as Pacchan nuzzles at his feet. ]

I know I am in good hands. [ Cough, whir, sniff. ] I feel better just seeing your face.

[ Uh oh, fever addled Genji is sappier than normal. That's a lot of sap. ]

[ Shigeru smiles happily as he gives Genji another soft kiss this time on the cheek. ]

Just rest and I'll get started on the soup. Is there anything else I can do for you right now? [ There's evident worry in his voice as he looks Genji over. He knows what the virus going around can do and it...honestly is scaring him to death. If Genji fell into a coma...he doesn't know what he'd do. ]

[ He doesn't want Shigeru to worry, the tone of his voice making his chest hurt for a different reason. But, there really isn't anything he can do but be a good patient and rest.

He reaches up shakily to brush the warm pads of his fingertips against his love's cheek. ]

Just having you near is enough. Don't worry, I have every intention of resting and getting better.

Of course. It's not your fault this happened. [ He'll lightly grip Genji's hand and give it a light squeeze. ]

I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything, okay? [ And Shigeru will get up and go make that rice porridge while tidying up the apartment too. ]

Your plants...do you want me, um, water them? I-I can at least do that much. [ He's not sure if he's confident in his trimming abilities. ]

You'll have to show me how to trim them when you get better. It looks...relaxing and I could definitely use something like that outside of meditation.

[ Genji nods and slips his hand back down and under the covers, closing his eyes.

Then shoots them open again and starts looking at his arms for any stray little seedlings that might be growing on his person. ]

Plants! I'm not growing am I...? The fever isn't? Oh good.

[ He's a little delirious with everything going on. He blinks a few more times and settles down, looking back at Shigeru with a slightly sheepish expression. ]

If you don't mind, I would appreciate it. And I can teach you sometime... I think it would be good for you. [ He closes his eyes. ] Our little plant children...

Oh! No, no, you're fine Genji. You're alright. [ Shigeru will say in a soothing voice as he runs a hand through Genji's hair. His smile soft and sad as he looks him over. ]

You know I'd love to learn from you, so of course. [ His smile is bright but he'll stammer once he hears Genji say that. Plant children, lord. His face is red as he lets out a soft huffed laugh. ]

I'll make sure to take good care of them while you recover, okay? [ And there he'll go with planting one last kiss to Genji's forehead before getting to work. He'll start with the rice porridge first, letting it cook as he goes about doing some house chores. At least when Genji recovers the apartment will be in pristine condition and his plants quite healthy too. Since, well, Shigeru could just remove any of the brown spotting or anything else that might happen to them and just remake them better. But once he's done cleaning the porridge will definitely be ready for Genji and Shigeru will bring some over nice and hot, blowing on it to cool it off. ]

Genji are you awake?

[ Genji just smiles again and nods lethargically, before falling back to sleep rather quickly. He has a strange fever dream where he and Shigeru were holding potted plants that were also wearing diapers. Their plant children?

But when he hears Shigeru he pries open his eyes (that are getting a little crusty) and looks over at him. He can smell the porridge and it takes him back to being sick as a child. ]

Mmm. [ It's a hoarse little rumble of a noise and Genji tries to sit up. Pacchan moves from his feet to his hip. There's an extra pillow beside him, so he puts it under his own to help keep himself upright.

He's still a little wobbly though. He blinks, although his eyes aren't quite in sync. ]

I think you'll have to feed me.

Ah! O-Okay. [ His face is getting so hot. Shigeru keep it together! Now is not the time for such things. He'll take a seat beside Genji, careful to not mess up the blankets or make Genji shift too much.

He'll blow on the porridge as he holds it out for Genji to take. His expression is just so...loving. ]

I really love you, you know. [ Ah. Oh no. He couldn't help himself from just spouting that randomly?! Oh my gosh he's so embarrassing. Hopefully Genji will just think this is all a fevered dream and he'll pretend it never happened, yup. ]

[ He might inch a little closer to Shigeru so his legs are pressing into his side. Ah, oh no, he wants to just grab him and cuddle him... maybe later.

He'd probably get a little red in the face if he was feeling better by all of this, but he feels too bad to be embarrassed. He takes a bite of the porridge and a warm feeling washing over him. Food from home always makes you feel better...

But when Shigeru speaks, with those adorable rosy cheeks of his, Genji swallows and just smiles back. He reaches to put a warm hand on his lap for a moment. ]

I adore you. You set my soul at ease yet make me the most nervous I've ever been all at the same time.

[ Yup, Sappy Flirty Genji is a go. ]

[ Ah. Shigeru's heart is beating so fast right now. He'll look away, face flushed as he holds out the spoon for Genji to eat off of. He laughs sheepishly. ]

Y-You're just saying that because you're feverish. [ Still when Genji gets that flirty it always gets Shigeru going. But he just smiles warmly back at him. ]

Let's finish the rest of this and then put you to bed. You need to rest as much as possible, okay? [ And he might plant a soft kiss to Genji's lips before he moves away, flustered at his own actions more than anything. ]

I mean everything I say when it comes to you.

[ He's just smiling at him. His reaction time is a little dulled, so he takes a second to react to the little kiss. His face is already flushed from the fever so he just smiles even wider.

He reaches out to gently take the hand that isn't holding the spoon. ]

Will you rest with me?

I-I'll do whatever you want me to. I want you to be as comfortable as possible.

[ And so he can be here to monitor Genji's vitals as well. He'll lightly squeeze Genji's hand as he smiles warmly back at him. ]

So whatever makes you happy I'm going to do. You-you deserve to be spoiled for once and maybe after you've recovered I can continue to pamper you. So you-you have to get better, okay?

You spoil me enough as it is, my love.

[ He squeezes his hand back. ]

Just stay by my side and don't exhaust yourself. Take care of yourself as well.

[ Still holding onto Shigeru's hand, his fingers brush against the magic ring he wears. Genji can't help a little flicker of an expression crossing his face. He leans forward and rests his warm forehead against Shigeru's shoulder, mumbling. ]

Still jealous.

I'll make sure to rest too, don't worry about me. [ Shigeru laughs happily at that as he kisses Genji on the head. He eyes the ring again and then just turns to Genji to see that expression. Oh. ]

Genji you know there's no reason for that, right? [ He'll kiss him on the lips again. ] Without this ring I couldn't talk to you like this. But it'll never be as good as anything you ever give me.

[ He returns it lightly, giving a slightly abashed looking smile after. ]

I know it's silly and immature of me, but I just want to be honest with you. I know the friend that gave you this wasn't trying to woo you, and I'm glad you have something that has made you happy. That's all that matters.

[ Have a pout that makes him look fifteen years younger. ]

I'm not as mature as I make myself out to be sometimes.

No! It's not that. I-I can understand why you would feel the way you do. But you mean so much to me that I don't think anyone could ever replace you.

[ He smiles and shakes his head. Though at Genji's words he looks away uncertain for a brief moment. Honest and open...right there's something he needs to tell Genji as well but he's just...not going to do that right now. Genji is feeling unwell and he doesn't need that right now. ]

Everyone has those feelings from time to time. It's not anything to be ashamed of. [ Shigeru thinks Genji's pout is cute though. ]

I'm glad that you were honest with me. I know it's been...bothering you for awhile. But you don't have to worry about such things, especially right now. Let's just focus on getting you better, okay?

[ Genji just smiles, the affection so obvious on in his face that surely everyone in the Quarantine could notice it. ]

I have never doubted what we have, do not worry. And I will always be honest with you.

[ As if on cue, Genji yawns a little. He leans forward and wraps an arm around Shigeru's waist. ]

I want to tug you down into bed with me, but I don't want the food you made to go to waste...

[ Shigeru's face just goes bright red at that. ]

I-I mean you can...but you should finish your food first otherwise I won't do it! [ Lies. He totally will anyway but he's gotta get Genji to eat to keep up his strength to fight this virus. ]

So-so if you want to do that you have to be a good patient and follow my orders, okay? [ Tsundere!Shigeru activated?! ]

[ That makes Genji grin a little lasciviously. ]

Ooh~? Follow your orders? I like the sound of that. [ Genji no. ] I'll be a good patient then.

[ So he waits for Shigeru to start feeding him the porridge again. You've created a monster Shigeru!! A very sick one!! ]

[ Genji no. Shigeru is so embarrassed right now. God just kill him?! He looks away super flustered as he scoops up some more porridge to feed to Genji.

This is so...domestic and his heart is racing he can't help himself. What has he gotten himself into... ]

W-Well as long as you're a good patient...then maybe I'll treat you to something. A-Anything you want. [ Shigeru is totally saying that in a teasing voice too. ]

[ Genji takes a bite and swallows it slowly. He feels quite awful, but his amusement is at least distracting him from it for the time being. ]

Then I will be on my best behavior.

[ Then he opens his mouth slightly with an 'aah~' like a bird. A big cyborg boyfriend bird. ]

Good! Then I'll be sure to give you a good reward for being such a good patient.

[ He smiles widely as he gives Genji another spoonful. His face is still red as he watches Genji. Goodness he is acting so cute?! Shigeru can't handle this. ]

[ Genji eats the bite, looking quite content for someone so terribly ill. Once he swallows the playful expression fades and he looks more tender. ]

I do appreciate you doing this for me. I will return the favor when I'm better, I promise.

Genji I would never not do this for you. I-I love you so...of course I'm going to take care you.

[ Ah. His face is just so red right now. He shakes his head at the offer or repayment. ] You don't have to-to do that. Repay me by getting better so we can do something nice, okay?

[ Genji just keeps smiling and nods. ]

Let's go somewhere nice, just the two of us. Maybe a weekend trip? Away from all the distractions?

[ He's really not trying to be flirty, but with how sore and hoarse his throat is it certainly sounds huskier than he intends it. ]
