Just like old times? [closed]
who: Link and Zelda
what: Zelda's doing some investigating beyond the wall. Link's tagging along as herknight bodyguard
when: Sometime after the Sampremi festivities begin
where: Abandoned City
warnings: They might run into a monster or something, but otherwise nothing.
The weather had warmed up quite a bit, and they sky was clear and sunny as Link and Zelda set out to investigate some ruins beyond the wall. The air was filled with the fresh clean scent of young plant life beginning to poke through the earth or budding on the trees. It was the kind of weather that made you want to just go out and enjoy the sunshine.
Link might not be relaxing in a park, but he was still glad to be outside. He was also glad to be with the princess as she did her research for the Magical Institute. Link wasn't completely sure what she was looking for, something to do with magical artifacts or the such that might be salvageable from the ruins. In any case, he was glad to be able to spend more time with her, even if it meant just being her bodyguard and keeping her safe from the possible threats that lurked in the uninhabited parts of the city.
Just like in Hyrule before the Calamity, Zelda led the way to wherever she needed to go with Link following close behind. The main difference here was that there was no heavy cloud of anxiety hanging over them since there was no threat of Ganon here, and they were free to focus on the task at hand and enjoy each other's company. As they walked, Link couldn't help but ask, "It just like back in Hyrule, isn't it?" Of course, he hadn't recovered all of his memories, but he remembered enough to know that this was what he had done then.

She's confident enough in leading the way, consulting the photo of a map she had taken on the Sheikah Slate. Her goal for today's expedition was a run-down building that had been marked as "of interest" in the notes from the previous person in her role. Sliding the Slate back onto her belt, she glances over at Link with a smile.
"It does feel like it. Like being in the woods around Faron again." She pauses, and tilts her head questioningly at her companion. "Have you been there yet?"
She tries to be mindful of what Link may or may not have seen yet in his travels.

Link kept himself a few paces away from Zelda as they walked. Despite the relaxed air between them, he was still there to keep a lookout for any threats.
"So, what are we investigating today?"
no subject
"At least the forecast here says we shouldn't need to worry about rain today." It's so handy, being able to check a resource like the weather service to know how things will shape up. The element of risk goes down marginally, and for that she's grateful.
Zelda turns her head to look at Link when she replies. "I have a photograph in my office papers of an old building. The markings there seem like they could relate to magic, according to the notes of my predecessor. I don't believe he ever went inside the place, so I thought it would be a good place to start."
It's better than wandering aimlessly until they find something interesting. That doesn't seem like a good idea... not just yet.

"Can I see it?" Link just wanted to know what it looked like so he could keep an eye out for it and to see if it was a location he had been too himself. His knowledge of magic was lacking at best. He'd leave the studying and research up to Zelda.

Zelda points to the area next to the building, where the road seems to curve around. "I think this here is a road to a park, so we should be looking for a building with an empty space next to it."

So far, the coast was clear. Any rustlings were either a result of the wind or of smaller creatures that had taken up residence in the ruins. Nothing to be worried about.
It wasn't too long until Link spotted the building they were after. He hopped up on a fallen pillar to get a better look and make sure he wasn't mistaken. "I think we found it."

She keeps the Sheikah Slate close, all the same. She may not be an expert at using it but it was better than being defenseless.
When they come across the building, she inhales sharply and smiles. It was still here! Peering up at Link as he scales the pillar, she calls up to him.
"How does it look? Is there still an entry we can use?"

Link took the lead now, carefully and quietly approaching the building. It was quiet save for the the sounds of chirping birds and the rustling of leaves. He raised his hand to motion for Zelda to stay back while he peered in the darkened windows. After a thorough search , he waves her over. So far, so good. "What part of the building do we need to get to?"

Zelda stares up at the windows, noting several of them are missing glass. A better entry point, possibly.
"According to the notes," she replies softly, "There should be a storage room at the back of the building. I think that's where anything important would be."
