We are living our lives~
who: Yu & Open || Yu & Noctis
what: Open: Yu Moving out; A day on the Wall; || Yu and Noctis hunting for elemental magic || Catch-all post
when: March
where: Yu's new place; The Wall; Beyond the Wall
warnings: Will add as needed
(date & time: middle of March, morning/afternoon)
After adopting a cat, Yu had spent some time looking for a new place to move into. It wasn’t an abrupt decision- he had spent a lot of time thinking about this. Felix keeps shedding everywhere and he didn’t want to be a nuisance to other people with him. Especially since it was an open communal floor. Cats just take ownership of everything. Also, living closer to the Perimeter would be perfect.
He had spent an entire afternoon wandering around the Riverview, looking for a potential place to move in. Probably rent some small place since he lives by himself. Eventually, he finds a small, half-furnished house, snuggled in between two taller buildings. The grocery shop is near, as well as a laundromat.
On the day of moving in, the things got a little busy in front of the new home. Yu had to buy a low wooden table and comfortable zaisu chairs to go with it to the living room. In all that commotion, Felix, the orange kitten, had slipped past the entrance door and disappeared. And Yu noticed that after bringing in the box with Felix’s stuff.
“Felix?”
The cat didn’t come. In a slight panic, Yu ran onto the sidewalk, almost tripping on one of the patrolling bots, looking around frantically for the orange furball.
“Felix!”
(date & time: any)
Yu was familiar with the vicinity of the Wall. He did all the morning patrols close to it, knew every nook and cranny, every stone was familiar to him. And, usually, there wasn’t any trouble at all. If there were any enemies and creatures lurking around, Yu’s Personas were more than strong to dispatch them.
This morning was calm too. Yu had a brawl with a centipede earlier but that was over fairly soon- Izanagi only had a trouble hitting its slimy body with his sword. It just didn’t want to go through. In the end, Yu just struck it down with his thunder spell and went on his way.
But on his way back, he spots one other person near the gate to the city. Putting katana back into its sheaths, he quickly makes his way over. Are they injured? Lost? Or maybe someone they know is injured or lost? Better be safe than sorry.
“Hey. Are you alright?”

WindsongWitch and we will plot it out! I will then add it as a closed post :)

If you have anything you want to play out with me, send me a message to the journal or PP/add me at Plurk:

o/ sorry for the wait
How could he be so careless and leave the door open?
When he made sure the kitten wasn't in the vicinity, he could feel his heart fall through the ground. Did something run him over? The bots went crazy at one point, it could've been easy for them.
In his dazed state where he raked his brain where his kitten could be, he almost missed when someone called out to a 'little' guy. And it came from around the corner. Rushing over, Yu took a huge breath of relief when he spotted a girl talking to his cat.
"Thank goodness..."
no worries!
But then the kitten bolted anyway and Makoto was all set to give chase right up until she noticed the grey-haired boy that the kitten was making a bee-line for. She wasn't used to things resolving themselves so quickly but she certainly wasn't going to protest.
She moved close enough to address the kitten's apparent owner, smiling softly as she watched the kitten rub against him. "I suppose I don't really need to ask if he's yours."
no subject
"Yes, he is. Thank you so much," Yu chuckles sheepishly. "You distracted him from running out on the street.
no subject
Still, with the kitten still so small she had to wonder, even as she was aware that this might not be a polite question to ask a complete stranger. "I take it you don't live too far from here? Doesn't seem like he would have gotten too far from home before getting overwhelmed."
no subject
"Ah yes, I just moved in nearby. I have been bringing in the furniture when the devil slipped past me and just disappeared." It's as if he was waiting for the opportunity to do so.
no subject
"Still, it's no wonder he got lost...is he even old enough to go outside at all?" That much she wouldn't know, especially given she has no way of knowing how old the kitten is.
no subject
"Ah, no." Yu shakes his head. "I just moved in here, the house over there," he turns slightly to point at it. "And as I was bringing stuff inside, Felix slipped out. The devil," Yu tsks playfully at his cat.
"Oh, I'm Yu Narukami by the way," he smiles. "Thank you, again, for stopping him for going too far away."
no subject
"I'm Makoto Niijima. It's nice to meet you, and I'm glad I could help. Hopefully Felix has learned his lesson now about not running off like that."
Or not, because cat. But no harm in a little optimism.
And thus, you made a social link with a priestess
Another Makoto, huh? Yu grins:"I hope so too. Next time, I will play with him long enough to tire him out, haha." Maybe then he will remain napping and not just sneak around doing devilish things.
no subject
At the rest, she can't help but grin a little. "Maybe that was his plan all along. Though maybe next time no more hide and seek."
That last directed more at Felix, though she doubts he'll be in a rush to disappear again any time soon anyway.
no subject
"Next time, we will play hide and seek inside our new place. I think there are enough nooks and crannies for him to hide." Also, enough pillows for him to sleep the days away.
"Do you live nearby?" Perhaps he just met a new neighbor, which would be great for hanging out.
no subject
She's not really used to sharing her living space with anyone other than her sister, but until she's earning more she figures it's at least the most financially sound option.
"But I wanted to take in a little more of the place while I've got some free time. Living in a brand new place is taking a little getting used to."
no subject
Yu didn't get to share his own living space with anyone except his parents or his uncle and cousin. But the communal building didn't make him a lot of trouble... in general.
"It really does. Luckily we didn't get strapped for money and thrown out here on the street when we arrived." And they were given jobs immediately as well, so Yu can't complain.
no subject
And she doesn't mind admitting that much, at least. She's aware that some people are more laid-back about these things than she is, and that there's probably a little influence from the fact that her family has strong ties to law enforcement, though a lot of it is also just her.
"I think they realise that turning us out with nothing at all in a place that we know nothing about wouldn't do them any favours. Not if the whole idea is to make us feel welcome here."
no subject
Maybe lend a hand where he can. That's how he ended up with best people as his friends now.
"Ever since I arrived, I wondered what our purpose here was. I mean," he looks around at tall buildings and patrolling bots, "they have the technology. Ah!" Oops. "Sorry! I was just thinking aloud. This place isn't bad at all, it's just- well. I'm curious, considering we were brought in here without any warning."
no subject
Whatever the case, Makoto figures it'll all work itself out in time. Once she can afford her own place, that will make things a little easier and until then, it's just a matter of gritting her teeth and making do.
She can't help but smile a little as he gets lost in thought, shaking her head at the apology. "Don't be. Curiosity isn't a bad thing. And it's not like I haven't wondered what they might ask for in return for all the good they're supposedly doing for us. But then maybe they really do just care that much about other worlds."
Unlikely. But not impossible, so Makoto won't rule it out just yet.
