001 Getting Around Town [OPEN]
who: Willa Monday (
likeacoupon) & YOU (yes you)
what: February Catch-All and Out & About's
when: All of Frebruary
where: The Quarantine Bar & Grill, Communal Housing (floor 2), & Around the City
warnings: None Yet (will update)
The Quarantine Bar & Grill
[A charming smile spreads over Willa's lips as she works behind the bar at The Quarantine Bar & Grill. She isn't pleasant that often but she can fake it for the sake of getting better tips. She's dress a little nicer for work though she's still wearing jeans and a worn pair of black boots. Her blouse is a cute flowy white long sleeve top, mixed with her usual collection of necklaces, bracelets and rings. Her hair is braided, twisted behind her head and then tied back with a thick brown cord.
She's used to being behind a bar and is excited for the chance to make a little more money this way. She might have lied a bit when she got the position since Leo never actually let her work as a a bartender. Willa still thinks that she can do better than the honor system and a stupid glass jar.
When someone new steps up to the bar she's quick to flash them a warm smile.]
What can I get for you?
Communal Housing (floor 2)
[Willa finds this whole 'clean house' thing to be exhausting. She's only been in the city for a month and she doesn't have much in the way of personal items. She has her backpack with the circular wind chimes that Leo had given her and a few changes of clothes that she happened to have on her at the time she'd been taken. She's always been a light packer and, not counting the wind chimes, she doesn't have much in the way of keepsakes.
She's sitting on her bed, watching those who share her floor clean up and sort through their things. Willa is very interested in what people have or what they might be getting rid of though she takes great care not to show it. It can't all be junk and, who knows, maybe she can make a few extra dollars swiping stuff people don't want anyway.
An open left over container filled with chicken fingers is sitting in her lap as she sits cross legged on her bed. Left overs is one of the bonuses of working at a place with a grill. Willa pinches a piece of chicken between her thumb and pointer before dipping it in honey-mustard and then popping it into her mouth. It's cold but she's never been that picky about food.]
What's that?
[She spoke to one of her roommates, pointing to whatever it was they were currently holding. Willa doesn't see the harm in asking and she has a few hours to kill before she has to be at work.]
Around the City (scam)
[Willa has a small bucket in her hand as well as ten or so flyers that she'd swiped from one of the nearby churches. She's making her way through the streets, calling to those passing by while holding out the bucket in her hand.]
Make donations to the Church of Light.
Help those in need.
[She's a very skilled liar and doesn't miss a beat as she asks people for donations. She'll give a small amount of it to the church to save face but keep the majority of the money for herself. Tips aren't the only thing that's going to get her a bike faster and she's already tired of walking everywhere in the city.]
Your support will go to outreach programs, food for those falling on rough times and city restoration.
[It's a very convincing lie.]
wildcard
[ooc: Feel free to hit me up with any ideas or the prompts from the test drive or lunar new year. Willa is going to stick to the city proper. You can also hit me up on plurk:
mizuyoko. We can plan something and I can write us a starter.]

For Dorian @ tevinteraltus
The young gypsy girl turns to Dorian, who's been kind enough to offer his assistance in finding her a few outfits to purchase. The money she's going to use to buy the outfits isn't entirely hers but Dorian doesn't need to know that.
She slowly walks through the rows of clothes before looking back up at her guide.]
What do you think?
no subject
He smirked at her question, and gave a slight chuckle at her commentary, raising an eyebrow at the top she indicated reluctantly.)
Are you particularly keen on wearing a poorly designed garden?
no subject
No, that's why you're here.
[She tries not to sound annoyed but this isn't exactly her idea of a fun time. She's never been on the up and up of fashion and she has no idea what she's looking for. Most of her clothes were hand-me-down's or cheap. It's one of the many things that mark her as a gypsy.]
How about I stop guessing and you grab a few things for me to try on?
no subject
What do you like here, if anything?
no subject
[She pushes through some of the racks and selects three shirts.]
I need to catch peoples eye too. I'm going for something too wear to work that will help me get tips. [Willa holds up a finger.] And before you get any weird ideas. I work as a bartender.
[ooc: what she pulls off the rack - X - X - X]
no subject
(He indicates the white.)
This one is a tad too pure. What sort of bar is it you tend, again?
no subject
[Is she being a little manipulative, maybe, but it'll help her save up faster.]
I realize that girls aren't your thing but you can help me pick out something that's attractive? Maybe tighter? [She doesn't know what guys are into. All of her male role-models kind of suck.]
no subject
True, and as such, I'm rendered blind to a woman's wiles. (He chuckled, shaking his head.)
We need to find something that says "I'm confident, capable, and fully understand that I'm attractive, and while I may allow you to acknowledge that fact, you may or may not get anything out of it."
no subject
You know what I mean Dorian. [She isn't always careful with what she says and is often insulting without ever understanding the reason why. She's just saying things that she sees as true.]
Yes. That is exactly what I am looking for. [She exhales.] I have no idea what would say that.
no subject
Mages aren't actually psychic, you know.
[But he moves off into the racks, frowning as he looks at this or than, before smiling and coming away with this.]
Here we are. Suggestive, non-traditional so immediately striking, but leaving plenty to the imagination.
no subject
I know that but with you, I question how often you feign ignorance. Maybe you can read minds and you just keep it a secret to mess with people. [That's what she'd do.
She grabs the shirt that he had picked up and smiles.]
I like it. I'm going to try it on. I'll be right back.
no subject
Many in my world would believe that of me, to be sure.
[Blood magic allowed a user to control and influence the minds of others, or so he'd been told. He never wanted to find out, really.]
Take your time. I'll be over there. [And he motioned to a second of the boutique designated for mens' clothing.]
no subject
Dorian?
[She calls over her shoulder as she looks at herself in the new shirt. It's slim and accents her chest decently well.]
I think I like this one. You still approve?
no subject
He looked over her approvingly, nodding. He'd been right.]
Splendid, and you look a sight less "crawled out of the lower neighborhoods to prey on the pockets of the well-to-do". [He smiles.] I mean that in the best way possible.
[But seriously, your fashion choices scream 'I'm a hobo'. Just saying.]
no subject
She disappears for a bit and changes back into her old tank top before stepping out of the changing room. Expecting Dorian to be over in the men's department she heads over to where they found this shirt and picked up a few more in a similar styles but shirts with different accents or colors.
Willa doesn't want her closet to be that similar but today is shopping trip one. She expects she'll need more clothes over time.
When she's done she walks over to where Dorian is and wrinkles her nose at what he's looking at.] I'm thinking these five for today. [Two black shirts, a red one, a white one and a purple one. All of them show off her shoulders and a polite amount of her chest while covering most of, if not all, of her stomach.]
Are you looking for anything specific?
no subject
Their menswear was either dull or ridiculous. Ugh.
He looked over as Willa approached, releasing his hold on his latest browsing.]
No. Simply seeing if something catches my eye. [He smirks.] Things have but for very wrong reasons.
[He turned toward her completely.]
All set then?
