I can see penguin too. [He added as the porg waddled around in between the two of them for the moment. Yep… this was a semi-aquatic animal. Didn’t do so well on the land]
A bit. He can get up onto things, but I don’t think flying is really their thing.
Oh... [Keith looked up from Kara at that.] He's here? I thought... [Their talk at the gym had given Keith the impression that Lyle was on his own... no family.]
Chalk it up the insanity of Quarantine. He's dead in my time, but he arrived from before he died. So... he's alive. And I'm older than him.
[Kara looked up at Keith then figuring they are going to be talking for a bit, sat down right where he was and snuggled up like he was going to take a nap]
[At least until they started to move, Kara was okay to nap there. It was a lot of working following a human around and a lot of excitement for a little bird]
I was... by some odd minutes. We're identical twins, but you'll know him if you see him.
[As Keith reached to take them, Lyle hesitated. It was hard to give them up. He'd been smoking for far too long and his brain was telling him it was a stupid idea. Well, the addiction was telling him it was a stupid idea.
But he had other reasons now. Kara the Porg for one. Tiny thing didn't need to be around him smoking even if he didn't smoke indoors. His brother was there... Osomatsu...
So after that hesitation, he pressed them into Keith's hand]

[Lyle looks down at the porg that was hopping along beside him. When Lyle stopped moving, it stopped turning to him and looking up]
They called it a porg. So I guess that's what it is. Looks like a puffin without a beak to me.
no subject
[Keith stared at it for a second, his head tilted slightly in consideration.]
Does it fly?
no subject
A bit. He can get up onto things, but I don’t think flying is really their thing.
no subject
[Keith crouched down and reached out to touch it.]
Where did you find it?
no subject
[Kara wandered over as Keith crouched down, looking at the hand that came out towards him and gave a curious chirp at it. He didn't seem afraid of it]
There was like a week where there was a bunch of these things. He started following me around and came home with me.

[Keith looked up at Lyle with a quirked eyebrow.]
If I ever used that excuse, my dad would make me release it back into the wild.
[Of course, a lot of desert creatures weren't exactly friendly pets to be bringing home...]
no subject
[Kara was looking up at Keith and made a sound at him]
no subject
[Keith looked down as the little bird-like creature made a noise at him.]
Uh... hi.
[He reached out and rubbed his finger on the porg's head.]
no subject
[Kara closed his eyes as Keith rubbed his finger over his head, cooing slightly. Yep, he liked that]
no subject
He's cute.
[He kept rubbing the little creature's head.]
How are things going for you otherwise?
no subject
Yeah, he's cute.
Things have been going well. Got my brother's robot from home... now I have my brother.

[Kara looked up at Keith then figuring they are going to be talking for a bit, sat down right where he was and snuggled up like he was going to take a nap]
no subject
You were the younger brother?
no subject
I was... by some odd minutes. We're identical twins, but you'll know him if you see him.
no subject
Oh? So I won't think he's you?
no subject
no subject
[Keith considered that for a second, debating asking if it was permanent, but he stopped himself.]
And he's younger now... right? Like, in relation to you. Younger than you.
no subject
Yeah, but several years, but I don't think its really that noticeable.
[At least he hopes it isn't]
no subject
[Yes, Keith was teasing Lyle about now being older.]
no subject
[He's quiet for a moment, but on a possibly related note...]
Hey, can I ask a favor of you?
no subject
[Keith gave Lyle a curious look at the change in tone.]
Everything okay?
no subject
[He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He held them out to Keith]
I can't throw them away myself. I don't care what you do with them. Just don't smoke them yourself; they are terrible.
no subject
Well, giving this up would definitely help with your endurance.
[He gave Lyle a small smirk and then reached out to take the box of cigarettes.]
I won't... but you're sure you want to quit? I'm all for it, but I know you have to be ready for that sort of thing.

[As Keith reached to take them, Lyle hesitated. It was hard to give them up. He'd been smoking for far too long and his brain was telling him it was a stupid idea. Well, the addiction was telling him it was a stupid idea.

So after that hesitation, he pressed them into Keith's hand]
Yes, take them. I want to get rid of them.
